Pretty weak? Don't think so!

Do you think there is one guy on Discogs who has the 'rarest' collection, as far as you know?

I would say you Including all your rare trance tunes, and other styles.

There are a few users with unbelievable collections, though the one I remember (mayday) has since made his collection private. miaowzik sells more rare stuff than I've seen on Discogs, though livfe and zibarecords sell some amazingly valuable records as well. zibarecords sells more through their website and on eBay, and there's a guy on eBay named kstarke (I think) that sells more rare house tunes than I'll probably ever own in my lifetime.

In any case, I'm trying to put together a good collection of electronic stuff w/o breaking the bank. I won't spend $100+ on one record, just seems silly to me with so many other wonderful songs to own. Finding the rare stuff for cheap takes luck and lots of time looking, but there definitely are bargains out there!

i was looking for some (old) house records lately, and found some pretty rare and nice stuff.

one which is quite known, but perhaps not from the alias;
Rhythm Controll - My House
this track is used quite often as an acapella (Only House Muzik/Jack's House), recently re-released under/by the artist Mr. Jack

another old house record;
Armando - Land Of Confusion

pretty rare too;
Romanthony - The Wanderer
RMB - Love Is An Ocean (Remixes) (i think its the Stephenson mix that does the trick for this record)
Nina Simone - Sinnerman (Felix da Housecat Remixes)

and i've ran into some 80's/90's house/acid records which were pretty wanted too (but i forget their names)

there was some dude selling Lexicon 4 on ebay some weeks ago, but short before the auctions end, he took the auction offline

i dont know, i dont like Ebay, too much work and risky that you get a shitty price for the vinyl..

i am doubting how to sell them.. i dont want headliner prices, but i also dont wanna sell lexicon 4 for just 20 euro or something

That guy got an better offer outsite of eBay. He didn't want to say how much it was

I won Tastexperience - Tantrix off Ebay for 3,21� this week.
Also Mekka - Diamondback for 0,99�, but that one's not as wanted. It's still a good deal though. Made me happy.

Another one to add to the list: Sisko - Light Over Me. I had my eye on a copy of this one on Ebay as well, but it went for 17 (or 19) euros, meh.

dude, thnx for ur post, but those arent rare/sought after. wanted perhaps, but also (relative) pretty easy to get. Oxia - Domino for example can be bought for a mere 7 euro's on discogs. that also accounts for Flaming June; that one can be bought easily for less then 10 euro's ..

beatport doesnt have to do a lot with rare-/'sought after'-ness ..

but if you have a good suggestion for a rare/sought after record that isnt mentioned yet, feel free to suggest one

Yep, it's already in my wants list I think the one that ended a few days ago on eBay sold for $120 USD or so!

vinyl (of course). we only discuss here vinyl (in 99,999% of the cases)

cd's can be burned easily. though the copies wont be original, they still have high quality. that'll never be the case with vinyl

nah, thnx .. im after the full release; 3xCD + artwork, from the '94 release. perferably in M/NM condition. but since i dont own a lot of cash atm (nor wont own it the next year, study-ing costs bucks ), i think itll take me quiet a while before i own a good copy. lately, ive seen them go on ebay for (at least) +/- 50 GBP each time

with this cd-release its like the bible; whether or not you dont believe in God/Jesus, every one who believes in a higer Force shoudl own a bible. and so, every EDM-lover should own Renaissance the mix collection (original 3xCD release)

quite some interesting stuff ... but acetate's arent allowed on discogs. otherwise, we would also have mentioned that acetate thats featured on GU013 (cant remember its name so easily).

nonetheless, its nice material to have around . im curious after that chicane mix of flaming june. is it good? never heard it before, nor knew it existed

Heh, Chicane has remixed 2 different Flaming Junes.. BT's in 1997 and Blank & Jones' in 2003.

Chicane's mix of BT - Flaming June is very chicaneish, a calm trancer with a great atmosphere and buildup. I think it's my fav mix. Tho the versions of the Chicane remix on CD singles feature a mastering error of some kind.. volume drops massively right after the buildup ends when the track really gets going, and naturally so does the vibe the buildup created.. The vinyl releases, the one i have anyway, don't have that issue. Flaming June vinyls with Chicane mix shouldn't be too hard to find.

domino is on beatport, but under oxias real name!
