Wow!

All I can say is... WOW!

I had no idea who the dj playing before armin was but he was laying down a pretty good set. Got me in the mood quite nicely.

Then Armin came in and my night was perfect. Loved the way he was pumping everyone up. Tried to get in to meet some TAs but was too crowded so went back to where my mates were.

Then we had Kai Tracid. Highlights of his set were Universal Nation, Lethal Industry and Trance and Acid.

All in all, I had a great night. Perfect way to end the single life!!!

Ok this was the first Two Tribes I've been to and I had a great night
Didn't get in til a tad after 12 and after abit of wandering ended up in Vodaphone Arena where I spent most of the night!
Saw most of Schulz' set and really enjoyed it! Armin played an awesome set! but I missed about half an hour of it but managed to catch the end
At this stage I was looking forward to Kai Tracid but after hearing him open with Born Slippy I was unsure of where this set was going to go! However once he pulled out afew tracks from the Tracid Traxx team it was going somewhere good The last half hour was especially decent
The atmosphere was really good and I met a bunch of TA's who's names have evaded me!
Overall was a decent night out

Well that was a wicked night, better than I was expecting to be honest. Most of the night was a bit of a blur, but from what I can remember:

Can't say much about main room because I only spent maybe an hour in there total..

the rest of the night was Hardware room for Pham, Blackstrobe, Technasia & Siegling = all awesome Was well worth going just for those.

Track of the night was definitely Rock Your Body Rock being blasted out over the dodgems

Posted by n14owns on Feb-27-2006 06:07:

Great night

Highlight for me was everytime I mentioned I was from Brisbane...

"You're from Brisbane?! Holy Shit! Hey dude, dude check this out this guy's from Brisbane!! And he came here by himself!!"

"No way!"

I did meet a truckload of people, all friendly.

Markus was best of the night... played it a bit safe with the mixing though (well I thought anyway).

um dude you play really good records!! (though I can hear furry mcmillsonicht grumbling something about too many old tunes off in the distance)

highlight of the night was armin yelling 'i'll call you!' over the mixer to me mid-set.

4th Two Tribes for me. It was OK, I had a dance, heard some good tracks- though disappointed in the actual sets. Nothing really grabbed me of the ones I chose to see. I can but dream of 2004!

Went for a wander at one pont trying to find something special though, and certainly found it in TECHNASIA!!! They were so awesome!! Would not miss these guys for the world again.

Schulz was great early, then a got a bit too driving towards the middle so I went to the Function Rooms (heard Schulz's last half hour was brilliant, so damn I missed that!)

Ali B was alright.

Dave Pham's last half that I caught was unreal!

Lavelle was a disappointment for me. He had this really annoying tendency to bring the crowd right up to that explosive point and then instead of delivering, just brought it right back down. Nah uh, not cool.

Graham was good, but I couldn't find a dance rhythm! Whenever he'd smash it with a heavy, driving bass it was as though it was just a few too less bpm's I'm used to having music smashed to. Weird feeling. But definitely enjoyable.

Um, who else?

Seigling was banging. Angello played the One Love CD.

Had decided against Armin after previous encounters, but rocked up for the last two tracks of his set and they were so good, the atmosphere was great. Big loss on my part!

Kai Tracid I was really into. But then my friends who had been difficult and sulky all night all decided to call it a night

Actually maybe that was the problem! There's only so many times you can ask 'are you ok/do you want to check out another set/is there anything I can do/can i get you drink etc' before it brings you down a wee bit!

Think Future should ditch the Function Room support idea. It's seriously so disappointing to go to rooms that have great acts playing, with no people and consequently no atmosphere.

"G where're you going?"
"why do i want to listen to McProg *points to markus* when i can listen to some REAL prog!" *scoots over to GU room*

in all seriousness kasey taylor played a wicked set that night, the way melbourne prog should be, deep, driving and twisted! not a single electro track in sight, which was a welcome change in an electro saturated party, imo

i felt a bit sorry for those who missed technasia LIVE. one hour live performance went like it was only 10 minutes, and they did it without any laptop, just samplers and sequencer.. oldskool style

charles siegling then proceeded to man the decks and mixing up one of the best relentless 3 decks tek set i've heard all year! with only 40 or so odd people in the hardware room (compared with 5000 or so ppl next door at rod laver for steve angello) i can't help but feel a bit sad with what melbourne 'techno city' has become ... the handbag city

uh... and some tracks:
Motor - Sweatbox (Chris Liebing Remix)
Len Faki - Just A Dance (Technasia Filter Dub)
Alexander Kowalski - Days Of The Liar (Joris Voorn Tribalicious Mix)

i'm lazy! until the next TT

YES and YES!!

This was my first big event without a big entourage of L-platers - just myself, LJ, Ben and Katie really, and it was awesome to not have to play the role of social coordinator. I think sometimes we get so caught up in playing dance-music ambassador to our just-coming-into-things friends that we end up losing sight of our own experience - this time I was at TT for me and me only, and having spoken extensively to me over the past few days I can confirm that me really enjoyed the whole thing! (as did I :crazy

Secondly, Max Graham was the main attraction of TT for me - I would have paid full ticket price just to see him, in fact. Putting him in a dingy side room (with an admittedly rocking sound system, but no lighting to speak of) with Eric Morillo on one side and Armin on the other, I mean, if you've got the King Kong of house on one side and the Armin Van Buuren of trance on the other, where's a dude like Max Graham supposed to go?

Give old Max a proper mainroom gig and slot, god knows he's had them in every other decent clubbing city on the globe. He was visibly disappointed in the turnout, and why shouldn't he be? He could have played for more people if they'd put him in side room at Volume for the same night and same time slot.

Max Graham = 10/10 in my books.
