Jordan in the '97 finals. Had an awful case of the flu, dropped 38 on the Jazz with a 103 temperature before gametime, including the game-winning shot.

it's like comparing apples and oranges

Jordan singlehandedly won that game with the flu and it came down to the wire.

baron davis limped, made the next shot and went in. once I saw that, only divine intervention would prevent the warriors from winning the game

on a side note, felt like a college crowd at the game

Baron Davis had a sore hamstring. Jordan probably felt like he was dying. Big difference.

Nevertheless, yeah, it was pretty damn good. The "only divine intervention can stop them now" moment of the playoffs still has to be Ben Wallace making 7 free throws in a row at the end of game 4, though. I was literally laughing.

yeah, NBA playoff crowds are some of the best in sports, especially since the arenas are so much smaller than, say, football. It really can affect the game a whole lot. Fun stuff.

yeah and all those celebrities jump on the Golden State-bandwagon because their Lakers, Heat and Knicks are out

I guarantee there will be even more celebrities in the next round who discover their love for Oakland

divine intervention might also say that oakland sports is back? wow i miss the old days (late to early 90s) when oakland sports was awesome. the a's had the bash brothers, dave stewart, eckersley, rickey henderson, bob welch, and crew. the oakland raiders had the man, the myth bo jackson. the golden state warriors had TLC (Tim Hardaway, Latrell Spreewell, Chris Mullin).
Can we say oakland sports is back? are the a's and raiders going to do well after the warriors success?

*edit* my bad. between 1982-1994, they were the los angelas raiders. ah! just a couple of hours driving away. they were still wearing the traditional silver and black when they were in los angelas.

yeah!! fuck the mavs! i hate dirk, i have avery, i hate cuban, i hate jason terry! fuck! i hate those bitches all.

in a serious note though. dallas is not build to win championships. dirk is not build to win one, and he sure doesnt deserve an MVP trophy.

They got embarrassed yesterday by and 8th seed that barely made the playoffs! bottom line

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-04-2007 14:01:

side note to ponder during the second round. before the playoffs started, harrington had played in 25 playoff games, davis 33, and stephen jackson 42. this is going to help them a lot going into the houston/utah series.

and mark cuban should start practicing the line "...... do you want fries with that?" or "...... do you want to make it a combo meal?"

an 8th seed that was the only team in the NBA that could give the Mavs a scare in the playoffs, a coach that knew each and every players strengths and weakness, any other 8th seed we'd be seeing Dallas to the Western Conference Finals. Perfectly coached series by Nellie and Baron Davis for President!! That shot when he ran into No-Ring-Ski and just tossed up that 3 pointer was incredible, now we'll see how they do against a team they dont know and havent fared well against in the regular season.

Are you on crack??!!

Its still a fucking 8th seed man!!! An 8th seed! A team that won 67 games vs a team that barely made it! Enough said. Dallas should of won it. We were talking championship with dallas, not making the first round.

Yeah but how often does a first seed play againt a 8th seed where the HEad Coach originally created the team of the first seed and knows each and every player from A to Z???

Don Nelson drafted or traded for nearly all the players on the Dallas Roster and he made Dirk what he is today. He knows how to defend him and he knows how to beat the Mavs... and he just did that.

If he had coached the Spurs before the Warriors he would have done the same to the Warriors too.
