Also, my buddy Pete really summed up our last cab ride experience pretty well:

| Originally posted by Pete Heh. The bit about the cab sounds like the ride that we had when leaving the Old Miami that RJT alluded to earlier. We called a Checker cab but got antsy and took some ghetto jitney that arrived first. While waiting we "took in a stray" and offered to have him share a cab with us. RJT starts trying to shout to the guy to turn the meter on as soon as we started moving, but he barely had a voice and the guy didn't listen. This guy is driving like he's missing a tire or something - weaving erratically enough that we're being tossed around, tailgating like mad, accelerating into stoplights and jamming on the brakes. We stop at a stop sign and the cabbie starts screaming at some guy in the next car to put his hand inside the car. (It was hanging out outside the window.) The other guy sorta looks confused, pulls his hand in and puts up the window. At this point our "stray" gets angry and tells the cabbie (I'm not kidding) "Why you gotta fuck with the out of towners? You're supposed to be a welcoming city. What the hell is wrong with you!?!" and it ends in the cabbie talking shit and more or less threatening the guy - but buckling, shutting up and just driving. Our stray was a local, thankfully. Their exchange ended up with him firmly telling the driver "Your meter isn't on. You're taking us to So, it ended up being $3 per person for our ride from the Old Miami. And we got a story out of it. Can't really complain. I still don't know what the hell the purple Aborigine was going on about. |

Seriously epic weekend. I was on the Detroit news, lolololol.
Should have some pics and vids soon...just waiting for my buddy to upload them.
Oh btw....I wandered over to the Beatport tent during Oscar Mulero's set to check out what was going on - forgetting that Dubfire was playing.
So when I got up close and realized it was him, I thought to myself "Fuck! I hope nobody saw me here!" and took off, lol.

Already in the pic thread, may as well post 'em here too. Vids to come in the future.

the real detroit stage was the place to be for the close. i thought they closed the 'underground' stage 2 years ago, so finding kevin saunderson playing there to an absolutely out-of-control crowd was just awesome. music was alright, but it was just a great experience to end the festival.
holy crap Jenny your hotel room view is WAY more awesome than i even imagined when you told me about it.
here are some of my random pics at the festival...

and then Old Miami...

and also a unicorn sighting when we got back to Milwaukee...

Would have loved to have the energy to make it there Monday morning...but am actually glad I couldn't. I would have been burnt out the rest of the day, and I was beginning to lose my voice.
Speaking of...got yours back yet Rob? Lol..so painful sounding. :/
Oh, and yes...I still smell like RJT's farts.
The thing is, it never hurt - it was just gone. And it's still not all the way back, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was at Oslo.
I will never forget walking up to Lee Foss at the festival Saturday afternoon to say hi and having him just look at me with the most shocked expression and go "Fuck bro! Your voice is gone! It's the second fucking day..." or something like that. Either way, it was hilarious.
