i just made another notch on my belt.

the shit thing is now the pants have sag.

Posted by tubularbills on Jun-23-2010 21:36:

i didn't go running this morning. and it's too warm in my house right now. looks like off to the gym i go

Posted by tubularbills on Jun-23-2010 23:14:

ugh. i really hate working out at the gym on base. too many people. i need my space!

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-24-2010 22:54:

Feel like going for a run. Trying to decide if, when I get back, I want to do a full body work out or split between today and tomorrow.

I'm lazy, so I feel more motivated to split...but then I always feel like I should have/could have done more.

Posted by tubularbills on Jun-24-2010 23:00:

it's too fucking hot to run today!

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-24-2010 23:01:

Yeah not here, which is why I'ma go.

it's still 90F here

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-25-2010 00:35:

Hm well that wasn't so bad. Haven't been for a run in about a month, however I've been blasting pretty hard, which definitely helped with my endurance. And I decided on a full body workout, just cut a few things out that I can do tomorrow instead. Feel good!

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jun-25-2010 00:38:

How far/long do you run?

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-25-2010 00:40:

I guess it's about 2.5 - 3km. I only guess that because it takes me about 30-40 minutes to walk to the park, run the whole path through the park, and then a mix of walk+ run home, total. I tried to find info on the internet about the length of the path I run, but there's nothing.

edit: er, sorry. 20-30 minutes, not 30-40.

Try running in 95 degree weather with the humidity at 85% Then we'll talk.

Any of you tried p90x? I think I know why they call it "the beginning of the end."

I know it's suppose to be for 3 months but I'm going to do it for longer. I don't see it as a quick fix rather as a great tool to get me where I want to be. My friend who was pretty huge (size 18 in pants) has gone down to a 10 and continues dropping pants sizes using that program. It's pretty hardcore since it's suppose to be for 3 months but she says she just does as much as she can and is still seeing results. Plus, if someone that size can do it I'm pretty sure that means I can too lol

I think he was being sarcastic, as Chris Crossland has been doing P90x for some time now, and posting his progress in this thread. Not to mention there are infomercials for it on TV all the time.

Lol sorry I barely check this thread. I'll PM him for some tips then! Again, not looking for a quick 3 month fix rather just something that will not get me bored (like a gym) and won't make me hit plateau's Those are the fucking worst. My friend doesn't even look like the same person anymore, it's pretty awesome. I know she's been trying every diet in the book for a while (like me) but this seems to be the one that works the best.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jun-25-2010 22:55:

Yeah, well you should be switching up your routine every 3-4 weeks regardless. Diet is a huge factor as well - especially when you hit a plateau.

I've started running with hand weights and this means that I don't have a free hand to hold my water bottle, so I have to wear a fanny pack

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jul-06-2010 00:19:

I had a massive argument with my housemate yesterday and then hit the weights straight after. Amazing what adrenaline does for your strength, and you barely feel any pain. I need to find a way of getting incredibly hyped up before every session.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jul-19-2010 14:05:

Where the fuck is everybody? Two weeks since the last post?

I've been making some serious progress with the running. It's getting to the point where my cardiovascular fitness is not a problem - no matter how fast I go or how much I extend the run I'm never getting to the point where I'm completely out of breath. The only things holding me back are my leg muscles, which still get pretty tired, and the vicious stitches I'm now getting from bombing downhill so fast.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-19-2010 14:35:

Yeah I took a week off. Have been doing lots of swimming though since we got a new heater. Had it up to 90 last night, lol.

Posted by tubularbills on Jul-19-2010 17:46:

yesterday i did 258 pushups and then did some lifting afterwards.

my chest is a little sore today

Posted by chimera66 on Jul-19-2010 18:53:

still working it out, biggest issue is that i've moved across the country and the closest gym to me (bally's) i don't like because i think it's crap.

either way walk to and from the gym (or have for the last 2.5weeks) which is a total of 6mi, in between do an hour of weights. still mix it up legs, core & lower back days and upper body days. i'm convinced i haven't made any gains because i left nyc and not walking as much as i used to which bothers me but oh well at least i haven't gained any weight.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-19-2010 18:54:

I really miss walking to/from the gym. Sweet tunes, good weather, spring in the step. Ahhh.

Where'd you move to Chimera??
