haha. unfortunately not a great deal of power rests in these hands. but im sure we could figure out something

philby, theres a chance the problem is the "im a dirty jew that didnt wait and save enough for technics" fuzz
sorry, i would advise if i knew anything. but blessfully ignorant am i

have you swapped the tables & channels over to make sure its the table with the problem?

Posted by marsh on Nov-18-2005 10:26:

Philby- check the connection between the tonarm and the cart. If this connection is not tight, or if the conductor pins are slightly mis-aligned (which can happen if tolerances in new equipement haven't been worn in), you may hear distorted playback and/or lose one channel intermittently. Let me know how this goes man

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Nov-18-2005 11:28:

is there any restock of euphonic tunes to look forward too?

Posted by Philby on Nov-18-2005 12:12:

i took the cart(? the bit with the needle in it.. ) and swapped them, still sounds the same. i haven't tried swapping the wires around, i might try that tomorrow. thanks for trying to help guys

Quite possibly mate, but without knowing which tune you're after it's hard to know. I can tell you that the brand new Ronski Speed v Stoneface & Terminal is in. It's on Euphonic and I think it's really, really hot

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Nov-20-2005 21:39:

im particularly after marksun & brain - neno itome, ever since i heard ronski play it at nature one its got to be one of my favourites of the year. Incognition is pretty good as well.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Nov-21-2005 02:42:

Dunno bout anyone else, but I reckon that Maor Levi - Lital (Ruzbeh Delavi Remix) is gonna be hot hot hot when it gets a proper release.

Yeh, neno itome took a while to grow on me, but it really has! Chuck yourself on the notify list for it (you probably already have ).

There's advanced white's of that on the go at the moment actually! It's a really interesting tune, although I reckon Anjuna should create a new sublabel for it called 'Anjunableeps'

We've got one copy of Neno Itome left if you'd like it. You can either pop by the shop and pick it up (I'm Matt, ask for myself or Marsh he knows where it's hidden!) or if you'd like to order it thru the website just ring us first and we can sort it out. wicked tune IMO

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Nov-23-2005 10:05:

Unhappy

omg youv'e got to be joking me i really can't spare any money atm i still havent got enough for the new decks, but soon...very soon. i think i met you last time i was down there btw matt.

oh and if its still there when i go down for the decks i'll ask about it

Posted by Trance Nutter on Nov-23-2005 10:13:

Do you guys have an email address where we can get in contact and talk equipment with you?
I mean, when you walk into a shop you can talk with the guys behind the counter about the equipment, get their feelings and suggestions about stuff, to help you get the best equipment for you. Is there any way to contact you and do more or less the same? Thats probably the biggest downfall of internet shopping.

Specifically I've got the age old problem of Stanton 150 vs Technics

Posted by 00soups00 on Nov-23-2005 10:20:

technics..

buy the tekanics

yeah, seriously pay attention to soups here. when theyre around the same price why wouldnt you? if youre ever wanting to play in clubs you'll be using techs 99% of the time. they have a proven track record. they have a good re-sale value. theyre gorgeous. hehe.

ive only played one 1 table that wasnt technics tho (but for the record it was shit )

Posted by Trance Nutter on Nov-23-2005 10:30:

hmm, the Technics people say buy the technics, the OEM people say buy the OEMs, and neither of them actually put up a convincing argument for their table...............

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Nov-23-2005 10:40:

well im after the numark tt 200's almost got enough...so close.

ok,

im not sure how easy this whole mixing thing is for you, but i still find it quite the challenge so, if youre gonna be spending all the time people spend practicing & learning, why wouldnt you do it on the table you'll most likely find when you play in a club?

technics arent microsoft. theres a good reason theyre the standard. i put a lot of importance in reliability.

having said that, i know fvck all about about anything honest! and ive certainly not played on the 150s.

ask all the notables here which decks they have at home

Once upon a time, if you compared for instance car manufactured in one part of the world, with a cars manufactured in another, you might find quite a difference in quality & features. Based on this difference, certain companies and countries earned reputations for their car manufacturing. Since the old days, car manufacturers the world over have put much effort into designing and building great value and quality cars, such that you can no longer go by where the car is manufactured, or go solely by a companies reputaion as an indication of what sort of value or quality it will be. Fortunately, the car buying public of the world have come to realise this and now make informed choices without believing whatever outdated generalisations are impressed upon them. This is yet to happen with those in the market for turntables. (this is not at all intended as insulting, rather it is an observation) .

Seriously?!? Where do you want me to start? Instead of answering that, I'll honestly recommend you check out the list of features (that it is debatebly unforgivable that technics still have not included as standard!!), then go pick one of the buggers up and then try and tell me their build quality is crappy!

True, but irrelevant. I jumped on Matty's 150's for the first time ever and just slid mixes in effortlessly- 0 adjustment time. Some people claim that it takes them one or two mixes to have re-calibrated themselves. So um...

If you're likely to find yourself in a club, then this is so unlikely to be an issue.

If anything, the 4.5 kg p/cm torque (compared to 1.5 on the techs), is one of a long list of features which you would find would make your life much easier.

True again, there are many non-technics tables which are not where it's at, but I encourage you not to place stanton 120's or 150's into that category, at least without properly doing your research

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-23-2005 13:38:

.....and id still recommend technics
