Just used the macro setting w/ the flash off. I dont remember which camera I used... maybe the Canon S110. I think DjJade's pictures are much, much nicer though.

Posted by DjJade on Oct-07-2003 03:16:

: P i dont think mine are better just slightly clearer? there are cool effects weith darkness too

i used a canon s40 on micro setting, using no flash and longer apeture setting

turntable..not usre on what mixer to get thou//is this fine for a bedrrom dj not really going to gigs and shit?

Posted by DjJade on Oct-09-2003 03:12:

i got a new pair of b&k st-140s

140 watts each
never heard bookshelves get so loud omg.. 95db sensitivity really makes a world of difference, especially when i have been used to only using 10 watts. i just turn it up and they just get louder....and louder...and louder.

all the way up and the speakers are like "what.. is that all you got?" just cruising along at that sound pressure level like its nothing : D

ill post pics later

Heheh I remember the day when I finally bought real speakers, and could stop using the 10 watt (yes 10) mini system speakers I had been using.

Posted by DjJade on Oct-11-2003 22:07:

Posted by _-MIl0 on Oct-14-2003 01:47:

indeed, it's not so much the power that makes all the difference, but also the efficiency of the speakers

You forgot to list your lava lamp... what's with this lava lamp craze?

Nice set up btw!!

Posted by Vero on Oct-15-2003 05:22:

lol, thanks, i have had that lava lamp since middle school i dont think i could ever get rid of it. i just ordered my ortofon nightclubs, and am looking for a new mixer. i also want to build some custom furniture for my setup, but that wont be till i move into my new place in Jan.

Posted by TwiloNYC on Oct-15-2003 06:50:

it does look kinda cool... maybe i should get one myself, lol.

Posted by Vero on Oct-15-2003 13:40:

everybody MUST have a lava lamp. maybe not by your decks, but somewhere in your house you've gotta have one. when i build my furniture for my setup, it in gonna have a spot built in for that lava lamp.

Posted by seven.dj on Oct-15-2003 21:48:

Satan (eek!)

Hey way to go with the minidisc player right next to yer tables... i think I got the same md player and i got my shit set up pretty much the same way anyways.... Yeah everymornin i just record what i feel like listenin to that day, throw it in the portable and just think how i could have done it better... its done wonders for learnin how to spin...

Yeah I used to have 2 lava lamps... but both of em stopped workin I dunno why. Wax heats up but just stays on the middle. goddamn lava lamps....

Posted by Vero on Oct-15-2003 23:21:

exact same thing i do, i have a portable that has USB connection to my computer. anytime im spinning, im recording on that MD. then i listen to it usually when im walkin around campus, lets me listen to my mix and improve things, then when i get something i think sounds good, i can easily transfer to my computer and burn to CD. the funny thing is i got that MD deck about 5 or 6 years ago, when they first came out, so yours is probably newer. it was one of the first US models. ive only been spinning for a few months, but damn it worked out nicely.

Posted by TwiloNYC on Oct-16-2003 03:30:

i've got a MD deck as well... I forget the model number right now.. I think it's JE 630 or something like that.

Here's my setup.........it's not the best cuz of my budget. Maybe I'll upgrade later
