argh
that was disappointing! so much possession, so many shots but only a couple of real good chances that were saved. why was gerrard's goal at the start disallowed? it looked pretty fine on the replay?

The disallowed goal against Stoke was utter bullshit. It's decisions like that which can make or break a season and that has lost us 2 points, that and our complete and total inability to pose any threat whatsoever from corners and freekicks which has to be readdressed ASAP. Lets hope we can beat the bitters this weekend to make up for it though, we really could do with both Torres and Keane getting on the scoresheet to improve their confidence.

Happy with the win, but Torres should have gotten that hat trick imo.
Robbie Keane...about time! Way to go lad
What a night at Anfield!!
My first Reds match, and my fiancee's first ever football match and we get:
Keane's first Goal, Gerrards 100th, and a cracking performance!!
We sat right behind the goal on the anfield road stand.
BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE EASILY!

Whaaaaaaaaaat a fucking game today!! Down from a 2 goal deficit only to come back and take the win. Gooooooooooo mighty Reds!
ps
Saka, that is fucking immense. I really want to try to make it to a match at Anfield one day, even if it's not an EPL or CL match.
I knew we would win today so I put 5 at half time on us winning 3-2
Nice 110 back from that. Dare anyone whisper it but I think we have a much better chance at staying in the league race this year, still wouldn't back us to win it but lets just hope the team keeps improving.
Poor performance from Aurelio today for giving the ball away leading to the first goal and possibly the second too. I thought Riera had a good first half and of course Torres can't be faulted for his brace, tho if I was being picky he should have had his hatrick!

Originally posted by raveed I know we are 10 time winners of the premier league compared to your 0. More importantly, Manchester United is run a lot more professionally and on a way more progressive level than Liverpool where the hierarchy seems intent to rip each others throats out every other day and what makes in more ironic is that our takeover was met with so much more resilience by the Old Trafford fan base. However, if you scoser folk continue thinking that knowing the lyrics to You'l never walk alone is a lot more important than We are the champions , then i am more than happy to be thought of as an uninformed Manc.
w00t w00t! didn't get to see the game though, great result!

Originally posted by DRM I'm sure you are also aware that we have won 18 league titles in total and "you" have 17 and that we have won the European cup 5 times to "your" 3. There's also the small fact that we've already beaten you this season and we are ahead of you in the table. As for the running of our football club, I think the majority of fans would say it has been nothing short of a disgrace ever since Tit and Twat turned up and goes against everything Liverpool Football Club stands for. Rick Parry and David Moores are also to blame for bringing this shame on our club. It's a wonder Rafa has managed to achieve what he has at the club in this climate and is testament to the desire of the players at the club to give their all for Liverpool FC. Whereas your proud club have wantaway Ronaldo and the sulkster himself Berbatov to rely on

Originally posted by raveed Even the most staunch United supporter would be hard pressed to deny that Liverpool at the very least have a history as cherished as United. Problem is that it is that the fans seem to think that the form in the 80s was actually the form last season which leads them to believe that the title will be coming to Anfield every season. Consistent success (would be any success if Istanbul hadnt happened) at Anfield is such a distant memory, they can hardly be considered the giants of modern club football and are solely done so because of the accolades earned by the Liverpool players of yesteryear. And as for being ahead in the table, remember that United started of poorly last season as well and went on to win the title so our early season form really isnt an indication of what our position will be at the end of the season. With Ronaldo back and Berbatov starting to settle in , we gonna wink and sulk our way to the title

Originally posted by daft_max The problem with you lot(ie manc fans) is that most of you envy Liverpool or for some reason have some kind of grudge againsts us. You came into a Liverpool thread, giving that mocking remark..what did you expect? Theres a reason why Liverpool is a respected club by other supporters and why United are disliked by others. You think you're gonna win everything easily..ie "wink n sulk our way to the title". That sort of pompous attitude will never get you that sort of admiration that Liverpool will always have. How many times have you heard "Great atmosphere in anfield" or "Another great display of support shown by the Liverpool faithful" Would you have sung your hearts out when you are 3-0 in a CL final? Dont think so. Why? cause most your fellow fans only knew about united in the 90s. Nuff said.
etc).

UEFA in their infinite wisdom have decided to move next weeks game between Atletico and Liverpool to a neutral venue 300 km away as punishment for the racist abuse dished out to the Marseille players.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foo...ope/7668854.stm
Don't get me wrong, they should be punished heavily for the antics of their fans but this seems completely ridiculous at such short notice.Ive mates that have booked flights to Madrid on Tuesday like about 3000 others and now we have to travel from there to wherever they eventually decide to stage the game on the same trains as all the Spanish fans, probably with minimal policing. It's a disaster waiting to happen and Platini / Galliard will have some serious questions to answer if this all goes tits up.
Sorry to hear that mate, that's really unfortunate. Just wear your shirt underneath lots of layers of civilian clothes
that dickhead Platini obviously is waging some sort of vendetta against the English clubs because this move has seemingly hurt the Liverpool fans more than it has Atletico Madrid.
A straight forward trip that would have otherwise been Airport - Hotel - Game - Airport has turned into something a lot more than that. This just adds more weight to the argument of Platini going a little power crazy with his decisions being made without any regard for the consequences.
Hope your friends dont have to put up with anything else other than what is already a very inconvenient situation Dublin Guy. I reckon Platini will ensure adequate security arrangements are made because he doesnt want to lose his position until he officially becomes the George Bush of UEFA.
