yeah, the admin who had been running utrave.org for 7 years decided he didn't want to do it anymore, and he didn't want to sell the domain. so the utraves.org board was shut down. soon after that, someone else started utahraves.com as a replacement.

it caused a lot of confusion and people that didn't check often didn't know where to go once it closed

So how was Beta? Any video of the place?

I was at Vinyl saturday - was packed, but great set. What cracked me up so hard was when he played sandstorm with a remix - everyone yelled when the song came on and then when he dropped after the climax, and the remix came in with a totally different beat, people were like WTF HAHAHA. I respect the guy for playing remixes of classics like that and feel the beat, and not simply playing the song that gets played everywhere. Poor noobs, didnt know what a remix was last night haha.

The lazer in the place is awsome as well as the LED lighting in the ceiling. The big HD projection screen looks great with the visuals. To sum it up, this club is one bad ass place even though they are about 75% done with it.

I hate losing phones at clubs. Happened twice already. Damn them bars haha and the alchohol haha.

HA! Lasers are in the club ... WOOT! Is the VDJ actually good? The church and vinyl SUCK. No visuals what so ever, just shitty spinning crap or pictures back and forth. No real art there. Do you know if they have kryo for big events there or did they not install any kryo? Stacks usually will take a good two months to break in proper. But im sure it sounds kick ass at the moment already.

That should be a really neat show. Im pissed Ultra didnt pick them up. Ultra is always a year behind on its acts.

so i wanted around until 130am to J00F. he played 60 seconds of the first track and the cops shut the place down. the guys from Kinetic Productions blamed everything on the cops, a security guard said theres was a fire code violation, others told me that Kinetic didn't have a all night permit and didn't think any one would know notice if they kept the party going past 130.

IMO Kinetic Productions dropped the ball. they should of made sure that the venue was good to go before hand.

Sorry to hear that. Only reason I was going to go was for J00F - everyone else wasnt my thing. But wasnt able to go cause the family came up. Guess i lucked out big time.

Very impressed with Beta. Good music, vibe, people (no washers) and the funktion 1 is the best ive heard, only better one was ICE in Vegas and only because ice was smaller.

Guess thats not true. Scary to think that with permits and all, you can still get shut down. THANKS TO EVERYONE!! Please be careful with throwing a party guys.. We had 3 officers, two of which were detectives on payroll .. Firemarshall, and permits.. And it still got shutdown.. This is a sensitive time! The scene needs to work together.

All of the headliners at Beta are scheduled to go on between 11 and 11:30pm. Playing music till 1:59 and stop selling booze at 1:45. As long as there is no booze on the floor past 2 am people can hang out for a bit. They will not use brute force to push people out of the club. You are allowed to leave at your leisure.

Maybe... I really want to check out Hernan Cattaneo at The Church. I've seen Dirty South the last time he was here and wasn't too impressed.
