Well you've clearly never been there, blowing incidents (that happen in US cities all the time, who are you trying to kid?) way out of proportion and showing an obvious prejudice against French speaking Canadians.

Smooth dude.

Wings signed Zetterberg 12 years ~$72mil. $6mil a year is a good deal for him. Hope he can last til 40 years old.

actually i have been there so fail and i don't know how you call someone dying over a stupid riot for a shitty team overblown? are you a fucking idiot? the person lost their life at a young age for what? so the has-been fairies could go on and get raped by rj umberger?? what if they actually lived up to the hype? if they ever won a stanley cup with the current generation of scum i estimate there would be double digit deaths.

Poor Lang

Poor Habs. Talk about bad luck, throughout the season

Edit: lolkaberle, couldn't care less about him. I'm just glad his injury gives Stralman a chance

habs will be fine, this is not their year anyway...sadly i think them fucking bruins are going to destroy everyone, or detroit repeats.

ps you are alive!

Posted by sean5 on Feb-06-2009 05:30:

neither of those teams will win. repeating is too hard and the bruins aren't as good as their record.

Posted by bamski on Feb-06-2009 06:04:

Not the wings, not this time. I mean, experience can't be bought, but as hungry as the sharks and caps are, I just can't see Detroit make it.

My prediction is that the bruins will go further than the wings.

my Flames are on a little skid right now.
3 L's in a row

Sharks looked lazy last night. Now they have a 9 game road trip. I think they are going to really stink up these road games.

I still like washington to at least make the semi finals in the east this year. Their strength in depth means that as long as we can keep Ovechkin & Green fit, the rest should at least be competitive.

I don't know about that. They have 2 very capable guys in net, chara imo is the best d man in the nhl right now (with that shot, his size, and his play, no one can touch him, he eats 25+ minutes a game. lol ottawa chose redden.), and 9 guys with double digit goal totals as well as 11 with 20 points or more. That is pretty crazy...not to mention they have a system that is working with grit and relentless fore checking.

And i really hate the fucking bruins more than anyone, but reality is reality. Anything can happen, but they are for real.

washington is not there yet...soon, but not yet. I like them a lot more than Boston, but i know better than anyone about Theodore.

He is a good goalie, and always has been. The problem with this is that he is not a big game goalie. when the money is on the line he has never come through. There are at least 25 other good goalies in the league. There are only like 7 game stealers in the nhl right now, and those guys usually win. washington sucks

10-2 drubbing of the Rangers by the Stars!

what i thought was funny was that they showed renney skating the team into the ground as if that was going to make them score more goals. hopefully this means that avery will be a ranger very soon and hopefully they can pick up another player. personally i think it would be sweet if they could antropov or nylander back because zherdev needs another skill player to play with. also it wouldn't be bad if gomez came down with a season ending injury

you and all canadiens fans, i didn't comprehend the hate until i was there for all star.

Posted by L.E.N. on Feb-09-2009 19:18:

Sharks face the bruins tuesday. Bruins are gunna stomp the sharks. Sharks are a mess right now.

Posted by chimera66 on Feb-10-2009 02:43:

sucks for you but good for my fantasy team!

sorry that's all that keeps me going now since my avs suck and won't make the playoffs.

Posted by sean5 on Feb-10-2009 04:33:

glad the rangers are finally getting avery back, but he never should have left. maybe the rangers will manage to score in back to back games and potentially even put in multiple goals in the same game.

Posted by sweds00 on Feb-10-2009 16:25:

lol habs

go flames go

I always laugh when people mention their fantasy teams. I get that its fun to follow but it sounds as lame as when people talk about warcraft.

Its tough to say the outcome. Sharks can put together wins even when they look like shit but I was hoping to see both teams healthy. Its been since 2006 that the sharks were in boston.

the way i look at it is that if i can't get enjoyment out of my own favorite team doing well i need to pick another team and since i don't jump team to team fantasy is the next best thing. yeah i really enjoy watching the caps and pens but i can't say they are my second favorite teams. also, in fantasy there is one person i dislike in the league and i want to beat him.

also, not like warcraft because at least if you participate in fantasy it gives you incentive to pay attention to teams other than your personal favorite. that's the biggest problem with hockey fans, they only watch their team...or the majority of hockey fans anyway

i agree. i think this pertains to all sports for me. it allows the fellow sports fan, like me, to get a chance to see who the other superstars and up and comers are out there outside of my tv market. the teams i don't get a chance to see. sorry for breaking the hockey reference here, but i currently have a basketball fantasy team running right now.

but for example, if it wasn't for fantasy league, i wouldn't know about how good kevin martin(sacramento), andris beidrins(golden state), al jefferson(minnesota), brook lopez and devin harris(new jersey), jeff green(oklahoma city), and paul milsapp(utah). i wouldn't know how important they are to their respective teams if it wasn't for fantasy basketball.

as baseball season is coming up, without fantasy baseball, no one would know who the up and comers are, as players get bounced around from minor to major league and back.

just my 2 cents about fantasy sports .........

as for the comparison to warcraft, not even close. warcraft is in it's own league outside of fantasy sports discussion.

I wasnt bagging on it. I totally understand why its appealing. I hope you werent thinking I was trying to poke fun. Its just funny to hear conversations between others that play fantasy teams. I can see where it makes watching two teams (or the rest ) you wouldnt normally care about, funner. Its a good idea, I just havent gotten into it. I probably would be talking like that too.

I have noticed that about (at least west coast hockey fans) only watch their team. I was at the bar and started talking to a guy in a ducks jersey about the ducks. He didnt even know his teams backup goalie (Hiller) who has been really solid in net. He didnt know that Rob Blake is a shark now. It was painful.Ill watch anything hockey, even the teams I hate. Center Ice is the only thing on in my place since october.

Posted by chimera66 on Feb-11-2009 00:48:

it is not just west coast fans, it is hockey fans everywhere really. people know what's going on at their teams and that is it. i know people who will only watch the rangers, like they didn't watch any playoff hockey for years since the rangers weren't in it. sad if you ask me.

even though i personally do not engage in gambling on sports, gambling and fantasy keep people aware of what's going on in some sports. i mean look at march madness, if it wasn't for the brackets and the possibility of making money i am sure few people would take that much notice to college basketball. true fans of any said sport will take notice of what's happening around but honestly to me most are fans of a team or particular player.

Posted by L.E.N. on Feb-11-2009 04:49:

Sharks looked pretty good but its getting closer to the quality hockey season and the teams that are about to turn it on, are going to be fun to watch.
