yea, but i always wanted to go to an outdoor rave in LA. the only outdoor rave i have ever been to was back in 2000 up here in the bay area.

Posted by Artois on May-11-2010 22:53:

yeah man to be honest I currently live in the bay area and since its summer time I have been to 3 massive free outdoor parties that were all so quality. A dirtybird in the park was one of those events. Claude vonstroke, worthy, justin martin, Christian martin, and J. phlip all free, simply amazing. I was hinting just drive up here one weekend mate.

This would be better than any massive in LA.

72hourpartyanimal, you are without question the biggest loser to post on these boards. 98% of your posts, you are busy blowing someone or making yourself look even more retarded

You can say what you wish within reason. Did you think at all about the derogatory terms you were using toward Jews? I happen to be one of them. That was uncalled for. I agree that the EDC ticket/lineup situation is less than satisfactory for the majority of potential party-goers. Just be civil about how you complain about the situation. If you have a problem with me beyond the scope of the general conversation, we can handle that between us.

As for Billy (72hrpartyanimal), he is one of the most well-liked people on this board. He pokes fun at himself because it is entertaining to the rest of us. We all know he is one of the nice guys in the scene, more often than not putting his ass on the line to take care of his people.

At some point the Coliseum floor likely will get full and they will limit access.

Last year they didn't limit access on Friday because there were a lot less people... only about half the Coliseum floor was full.

On Saturday they started limiting access to the floor sometime after 9pm (I think it was around 11pm, but I could be wrong) because a lot more people came on Saturday. There were tons of empty seats in the Coliseum though.

If you get in the Coliseum by sundown, you probably will be ok (last year at sundown was fine)... but it is impossible to guarantee it. EDC has been growing very fast the past couple years and who knows how many people will attend this year. Depending on the set times I may get in the Coliseum well before sundown.

Yeah, the problem was the derogatory terms, not about your views toward Insomniac, views which many TAs share.

Assuming that you never get shut out of the Coliseum floor, it will take a while to get between stages. Just walking from the middle of the Coliseum floor out of the Coliseum may take 10-15 minutes at night as you patiently wait for hundreds of people to meander up the long stairs. It should be easier to float earlier in the day.

I probably will visit the Sean Tyas/Simon Patterson stage in the early afternoon (assuming they spin early) and will get in the Coliseum by sundown. Once there, I will stay put.

yes, I am a loser. no doubt. I like to bite my fingernails, smell my armpits and occasionally, just occasionally... wet my pants

but I'd rather do those things then come to a forum, talk A LOT of shit about different events and then degrade the different members here.

As mentioned before, this is the west coast forum. Although we fuck around and bust balls, in the end... we hold hands and sing kumbaya. Why? Because we're all friends

If you don't like the event, don't go. Sell your tickets and make a profit.

You got some good taste in music bruh! Bay area events fucking own. The vibe and music are not to be missed.

seriously I mean i think my favorite LA massive so far was Monster Massive Last year and that was because of Mandy (Live)/Steve Lawler [Don't get the wrong impression I don't only like tech house/techno] But that was a solid line of music right there. But I went to my first dirtybird event and after I was finding myself questioning ever paying for a massive again because it was a full day of none stop music, the best vibes,no kandi or plur. Just people who love music and know how to handle their shit. It was great, I was even able to get a ten minute convo in with Claude himself about various aspects of his music. Cause I am sure all of us lately, unless you get vip, find ourselves dealing with alot of bullshit at massives almost anywhere in california. And they seem to be very poorly planned out with their mind on their money and their money on their mind, strictly .

This is true but I'm not gunna lie alot of all age raves and 18+ events are really going to shit, but I really only blame the new kids entering the scene because we get more commercial music and more cheap promotion companies. However most 21+ event promoters are keeping it real. Umek came out here, we have 16 bit lolitas playing very soon. The same goes for LA though in the 21+ underground scene.

absolutely agree. Umek was at Slide right? Whats really great is you get to see these artist at awesome little venues. Mighty, Vessel, Supper Club, etc... and on off nights, which make the vibe justtttt right

Posted by Artois on May-12-2010 01:12:

Yeah thats how I feel it's much more personal I feel. Great stuff.

When you were a kid, the older generation probably thought the same thing :P

72hrpartyanimal is well known in the scene

We do have some Techno/House more artist to confirm.

that sounds utterly dreadful...i don't love the guidos here in nyc but at least they are entertaining to watch!

That's all fine and dandy, but I'm not going. I may have bought tickets if you announced the full lineup from the beginning. I don't blame you, Henry, but your marketing people screwed the pooch on this one.

Posted by Artois on May-12-2010 02:10:

Yeah nothing against you Henry. It's just not really an event that can compete talent wise compared to other festivals on the east coast.
