| Originally posted by Floorfiller basically...you are trying to lift more weight then you should. you should take the weight down a notch and concentrate on proper form and feeling the muscle work. its just a different approach. i mean yeah i've gotten results lifting as much weight as i can, but i think this way is gonna provide better results. and the day after a work out with less weight...the muscle is sore because i targeted it so well. i don't have a lot of secondary and supportive muscles too sore to workout. and i don't have any stiffness in joints and shit either which is another problem i had. i just think by lowering the weight and really focusing in on the muscle you're working, that i'm actually getting a better workout. |

well i mean...i used to literally increase weight...by five pounds everytime i could hit 12 reps twice in a row...i used to rep somewhere between 180-210 on bench...but the muscle was never really getting that great a workout. this way i'm like half of that and the next day pec is feeling worked...so i think its just about the focus on the muscles...

| Originally posted by Nrg2Nfinit thats still pretty big ! i try to do as much weights as i can handle usually.. (while maintaining form of course) and then lower the weight down throughout my sets so basically my sets try to go: warm up, higher, higher, same, lower, very low. this way i totally kill the muscle.. i wont be able to go back to near that muscle group for a couple of days. i am seeing results this way in size, and strength i should try you way too flooriller see how it works.. i guess everybodies body is different. |

U guys need to do my workout and you'll see rippedness! lol

I used to be able to throw up around 300 on incline bench. those pictures from 2 years ago on page 1 were what I looked like. All my gains have been from focusing on a slow negative, a flex on the contraction, and a solid push for contraction. Proper form necessitates a lower weight. and getting the strong fibers tired and then dropping down and making all the weak ones lift means 80% of your muscle will grow instead of the already strong 20%
