LOL thanks captain obvious, should we talk about pedro crying or the duke's calf injury...

weak to single out players and throw out little jab comments...

i'll stand behind my yanks even when they lose, even when they choked on the boston up 3, but i'll never become one of those mets fans who all of a sudden started filling that empty stadium.

Posted by Vlad on Oct-06-2006 18:35:

I love it how Mets fans are quiet and hidden when their team is loosing, but when their team is winning, they are the most outspoken bunch of fake-fans youll find.

I've always been around.

You're making it like its only Mets fans that do that.

why would a fan defend his team that is losing? yeah i can understand what was said about empty seats, but talking shit when your team sucks? that doesnt make any sense. the problem i have with yankee fans is that a good bunch of them are convinced that they can get any player they want, without a problem. there was so much shit talked when they got A-rod over boston. that is part of the reason why i love the fact that he sucks so much right now.

where were all the yankee fans in the 80's when they sucked? if i remember correctly there were a lot of empty seats at the stadium during the lean years. i even used to root for the yankees when i was a kid. i got so sick of so many "fake fans" comming out of the woodwork after 1996. and to hear people bitch about not having won a world series since 2000??? give me a break. what about teams like the cubs. what makes you guys so special?

i dont have a problem with most of the people on here and another site that i read the baseball threads on, but 8 times out of 10 when i hear a conversation between two yankee fans, or some yankee fan preaching to a met/boston fan about how great the yanks are regardless of what they currently doing because of either: a: they have 26 rings, or b: they will get so and so next year and win it then, it makes me want to throw up.

you can talk about that i don't care. but i find it pathetic that the yankees fans, not necessarily you, are booing a-rod like crazy. he should man up like beltran and tell people to stop booing. at least show he has feelings.

clearly this discussion is about both of NY's teams.

and if you read alittle back, you'd see the initial reference was about 'yankee fans who don't give a fuck about baseball after their team loses' - do i need to make the corrolation for that one because if I remember correctly, Shea was never packed like Yankee stadium was =)

oh and where the fuk have you been? you should come out to love tonight and get drunk with me...stop hiding in SI

lol talk is cheap in the bronx

actions speak louder than words, so it's best he not say anything at all and just preform, if he chokes more, he won't be in pinstripes simple as that

Sal, Ive hardly been on the forums in general... not just in this thread, lol.

I think he means E. Encarnacion...

Anyone knows any places that might have the 1984 Mitchell & Ness Mattingly Jersey? Its sold out on their site in just about every size right now. I wanted to get one a while ago, but $225 is a bit steep to pay on a jersey so I held off until I got the loot.

that's about the same price as an authentic mlb player jersey right now. $225 is a steal for an M&N jersey

Posted by Vlad on Oct-06-2006 20:46:

Thats how much it is on M&N's website.

Posted by verndogs on Oct-06-2006 20:53:

M&N normally goes for $325+

yeah..for M&N...that's a GREAT deal

When the Mets win, Shea is just as packed as Yankee is. When the Mets lose, Shea is just as empty as Yankee is. It just so happens that the Yankees haven't lost in a long time, but, rest assured, if the Yankees were to start losing regular season games again, Yankee Stadium would be just as empty as Shea was during the mid 90s.

solid all year? with 3 losing streaks of 7 games or more??
I don't think a team like that deserves to even be in the World Series

yea i watched all but maybe 4-5 games and in those games to me they showed they could compete. You are right though my statement was a bit blank as I have not followed them all year, but from what I see now going into the fall, they look like they are shaping up.

the whole season don't matter if you end up with a ring on your finger
