you've missed the greatest quarter in NBA history between the New Jersey Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers in game 5 of their series

well during that time, Lost on ABC was on. i guess the crowd during that game felt they were stuck on the island like the people on the show.

when both teams shot under 20%?

how about game4 when carter/kidd/jefferson, the big3, combined to shoot 20% for the ENTIRE game? Mikki Moore never looked so good! a monster!

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-18-2007 23:05:

looking at the bright side, i think the nets should trade away or swap kidd and carter for either draft picks or young talent, and get rid of jefferson. the future us bright for new jersey with nachbar, marcus williams, and mikki moore.

go suns!! Nash will kick some ass tonight. Great victory will come.

Posted by plastikE on May-19-2007 03:58:

FUCK THE SPURS.

On a lighter note, I'm hoping the Cavs make the finals. Can't really see it though considering the experience of the Pistons team.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-19-2007 06:17:

Cavs-Pistons
Jazz-Spurs

I say Pistons in 6, and Spurs in 5.

Pistons-Spurs in the Finals. sorry to break it out for you non die hard basketball fans out there, but if my favorite team is not in the finals, i would still watch the Finals, because the NBA is fannnnnnnnnntastic!

Posted by Remy D on May-19-2007 08:18:

I'm really disappointed that the suns lost. Steve Nash and the Suns really let me enjoyed the nba this year.

woooohooo! spurs baby!

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-20-2007 03:58:

to me, there are 3 types of winners in the nba. there are the enjoyable winners(phoenix, golden state, washington, milwaukee, dallas, chicago) who can score points, and run up and down the floor. there are the teams that are the "better team" from start to end (san antonio, detroit, utah(in a couple of years, if they can hold on to boozer and williams)), and then there are the teams that seem to win, and we don't understand how they can win, even with their crappy roster(cleveland, new jersey).

Posted by King Ecnal on May-20-2007 17:46:

i'm just glad the nba has fucked up again...

can't wait for a Pistons-Jazz finals....

what a dumb league....!

Don't forget Krstic -- when he comes back, the Nets might actually be good.

The Playoffs should have ended when Baron Davis was kicked out of them. Basketball is dead to me.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-20-2007 19:18:

oh yeah and Krstic. he was very shady this year, before his injury. very up and down. maybe he was playing through pain, and his body finally took it's toll.

anyways, if the jazz are going to have a shot against the spurs, they have to :
*stop tony parker, and at least slow down ginobli. they don't have the manpower to stop duncan.
*force the spurs to one shot attempt. the suns and nuggets had semi-success defending the defensive boards, and limiting to some ground. if they could hold the spurs to at most 8 offensive rebounds a game, then i think the jazz have a good shot.
*bench play. fisher, harpring, and milsapp need to come up big in this game. success for the jazz is if their bench scores at least 30 points a game, because i am sure the starters are going to get into foul trouble defending duncan, parker, and ginobli.
*catch the spurs offguard when they get into cruise control. spurs seem to get into cruise control when they think they have the envelope sealed for them. happened in game 6 when they had that monster lead in the 4th, and were playing it on the "safe side" the rest of the way, until nash started hitting 3's.

Well, he's only 22. So he's still developing some consistency - but at 7', he's got a ton of potential.

As for the Jazz... the only shot they have is on the boards. If they can dominate the glass like they did against Golden State, they can possibly force San Antonio to play from behind all game, which could generate some bad shots by Parker and Ginobli, who are prone to do that when behind. Boozer and Okur need to be phenomenal yet again. And Kirilenko will really need to wake up. The Jazz will have very few matchup advantages on offense, so they need to make up for that by playing phenomenal defense.
