I honestly think it's way better than SoCo clubs now. Too many raver guidos there now as opposed to Beta. I however don't like the 18+ night on thursday... Actually, there's really not a dress code... |

Beta is amazing - went there for the first time tonight and I was pretty blown away. Steve Bug and Modeselektor were fucking amazing too. Tonight was a landmark night for the Denver EDM scene as a whole, IMO...
Was really nice to finally hear some techno in this city... I'd like to see more acts like Bug, we need some fresh blood out here.
How about Bodzin, Romboy, or Huntemann??

Ill hit Beta up in May for the first time - artists i like around then. By then everything should be up and running and Ill see how it compares with the european clubs. But yea, dress code should be enforced - get a classy club going. I think its funny how the church tries to pass as a club now by having seats behind the floor setup haha.
How is the balcony overlooking the danceloor at Beta? Is it crummy like a rock venue like cervantes and gothic or is it more of a club balcony? Balconies add a shit ton to a club imo. Make it more massive club like. Is the outside appearance club like? Does it read club or just a line outside a crummy building and you have to know its a club beforehand instead of driving by? I mean are there lights outside, name of the club, etc.?
JUSTICE was sick by the way. anyone make it to this?

Who needs an opening DJ with Tenaglia - the man can open for himself and spin the whole 5 hours. Regardless, THERE if you're not fibbing! |

Oh, and a semi good view of the club

Shite, well, if I don't end up at DEMF, I'll at least get to see both Zabiela and Tenaglia in one weekend.
As for Beta, it is perhaps the *best* clubbing experience I've had sound-wise since the days of BOA/Sonic in Toronto. It was amazingly clean and the crowd was the best I've seen at a club in Denver.
I disagree on dress code - everyone there would pass anyone's standards and the crowd that draws a dress code would make the club suffer in terms of atmosphere. I can stand happy go lucky ravers any night but stuck up drunk high-heeled party girls and tweeking Guidos are worse than being struck on the head by falling beer bottle or slipping in puke.
Another great surprise - the lounge is sound-proofed from the main room so there is very, very little sound bleed. This is something I'd never thought someone would pay such attention to so congrats to Beta.
Steve Bug and Modeselektor were amazing - best techno I've heard in Denver since Richie last year. I miss techno more than anything living away from Detroit so KEEP IT COMING! How about some Adam Beyer or Collabs 3000 on that system? I'd think I could die happy then.

Avalon in LA is the only club that i've been to in the US that imo has better sound than what i experienced at beta on saturday. omega if you're passing along suggestions to brad, i have one suggestion and one request. suggestion have them add newcastle to the bars, shit if you could get them to add peroni too that'd be ace, but newcastle at the least. request also - please please please have lee burridge play open to close he will fucking destroy that place thanks in advance |
Junkie XL added to GDF at Red Rocks - fack! Get SOME NEW BLOOD IN THERE! I WANT TO SEE SOME GOOD HAUS AND TECHNO!
At least Tiestor is off the books - he'll be in a far off country on that date. But that still leaves Joakenfold to be considered which would be my ultimate turnoff.
Some suggestions? Danny Howells, Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Steve Lawler, Deep Dish, Sasha & Digweed, etc
Granted, not all of these are feasible but give us some credit. No matter what lineup you pick, it will be rammed.

Definitely agreeing on the Howells all night set - the man is like Tenaglia - two hours cannot compare to his extended sets. I'd like to see Zabiela do that as well - he'd kill that soundsystem.
Richie doing a marathon set as well.....drool.
And yeah, I know about GDF - I can dream though, can't I? After the Daft Punk show last summer, seeing any of those there would be killer. That venue is made for banging tunes - not tired, old tunes.
AT least the DEMF partial lineup is out - just waiting for the Minus crew to join in.
