remember when there was that olympic park bomber at the atlanta olympics? 2 people died and over 100 were injured. not only that but the guy that discovered the bomb before it exploded was accused by the media as being a suspect.

stuff happens people. the only thing you can be sure of is that you can't plan for everything. you can try your best but it will always fail.

Why do you think Crosby had a bad olympics? Just because he did not score or have an assist in all 7 games doesn't mean he had a bad olympics. Crosby had 7 points in all olympic games tied with Igilna, Getzlaf and Heatley only one behined Toews. He was a +2 which was about the median compared to the rest of the team (Thornton line was -1, +1, +1). He made little plays in which contributed to the game that didnt look like it mattered much but it did.

He also has 2 game winning goals.... one in the shootout and one in the gold medal which actually pulled Canada to beat the Swiss then the shootout was going for the long run, and not to mention becoming Captain Clutch last night. Only person with 2 game winning goals was Igilna... one of them was against Norway where they shut them out which was a no contest.

So really, I think based on numbers and speculation, Crosby did have a good Olympics. When he needed to be his best he was even better.

Again good Olympics, but terribly organized.

I dont get the womens team thing...why was it a disgrace? Who gives a shit.

We (Canada) would have been more devastated than the Americans...if we had lost this game in the last minute and then overtime, Vancouver would have looked like Haiti afterwards.

Crosby didn't do much over last few games, piled up his points early just like Heatley. That's the thing about statistical anaysis, it doesn't tell the whole story, doesn't give you trends depending on how it's presented.

With Heatley I'm not surprised.. when he played for Ottawa he would always get tons of regular season goals, and when the playoffs come, well...

That was completely uncalled for.
For your sake, I hope you were bombed when you wrote this, and have enough sense in your hung-over state today to sincerely apologize for the douchbaggery that you spewed.

On a much lighter note, AMAZING game last night.
You would have been hardpressed to find an empty table at most sports bars yesterday, and they were swimming with red and white.

Yeah... no. I can't say I agree with you.
They would have been just as, if not more, devastated.

Where are you? Are you that close? I spent half my childhood in Grand Isle County, VT, which is only 50min away from MTL.

On a better note. We were sitting on the couch and looking at the footage from Dundas Square and couldn't let the opportunity pass to actually go down there. That was the best decision. The crowd surfing was insane. So many nice photos. I also found the one guy with a Poland hat . Ha ha! Wikkid.

I was on Queen Street, and couldn't resist coming down either... pix and video to follow...

It was pure insanity at Yonge and Dundas last night! So many people cheering, singing, laughing, dancing, and just having a great time. Even the police were high fiving people, lol. It was awesome.

note the guy on top of the downtown Yonge sign thing

I'm in Essex, not too far. Grand Isle is beautiful.

It was fun being the only people in the bar yesterday cheering for Canada. We caught some looks for sure!

^5

Alburg is a farming town (mom raises horses), and growing up fishing and stuff around Lake Champlain was awesome. Country boys in VT knew how to have fun with anything around... finding classic scrap cars to dismantle deep in the woods, minnow streams, and blowing lots of shit up with firecrackers, 22s and shotguns. Fuck yeah!

Essex I've only passed through on the way to NH or ME, sorry I should have noticed better :P
