Yeah, I was going to say 800 but couldn't be bothered googling it.

Wooo, went for my first run of the year and it was better than I expected. Feel good!

How far? I've been seriously slacking in the last couple of weeks. Been spending all my time going out partying and then recovering. Hoping to knock out 10 miles or so this weekend.

I've had so much uni work and work work that I haven't been for a run in about a month. Still playing basketball on Wednesdays but it's not the same.

I'm short on time but I hate using that excuse. I really need to get back into it, say at least twice a week.

Not far - only about 3 or 4 km.

Does anyone use any sort of whey protein or recovery formula after heavy lifting or cardio? I find it helps alleviate my soreness and helps me build back muscle.

I use this stuff, it actually tastes pretty good:

I could use some of that right now... seems good and so easy to make

Posted by Silky Johnson on May-20-2011 14:16:

Totally easy to make. And fucking delicious. Fuck.

For the guac I just use one whole avocado, a small clove of crushed garlic, some cumin, salt + pepper, lime juice, and a small small dash of red pepper paste. Oh and I put bacon bits in it that time for good measure.

No cilantro? D:

Yeah, I imagine most people do. It's usually the first thing I do after any workout or run. I know a website that sells a variety of sports supplements very cheaply, especially if you buy in bulk.

Of course, when I have it on hand.

Just pure, unflavoured WPI and a multivitamin. Only other thing is maybe Creatine if I'm doing a cycle but very rarely.

All that other junk in those blends is just that, junk. You're paying for things you don't need.

I do use this exact powder + NO XPLODE and GNC Vitapak multivitamins.

I used to make that same shake all the time. A tablespoon of pb was what I used.

Took me some of that the other day. By the time I got to the gym my face was melting off. Eventually that feeling went away, but as I was deadlifting I almost fainted and could see through time.

BEST PRE WORKOUT EVER

I GOT SUCKER PUNCHED. TO THE EXTREME.

Urgh. I went for a run earlier and my stomach has felt extremely rough ever since. I really do wonder why I fucking bother sometimes.

Posted by Paradox Lost on May-25-2011 21:58:

Not necessarily related to *my* workouts, but I'm scheduled to be interviewed for the position of head varsity cross country coach at a local high school.

I look forward to finally being able to impart the exhilarating misery upon others.

Why do people run when they want to get in shape...it's counter productive to the goal.

Depends what you mean by "get in shape".

I also find it disturbing that your username is a mutation of mine and Paradox Lost's, and we were the last two people to post...

Posted by Fledz on May-27-2011 04:35:

Why is it counter productive? It's one of the best full body exercises there is.

If you're talking about building muscle, then excessive running is counter productive as you reduce muscle, but we're talking half marathon distances here.
HIIT is one of the most effective ways to exercise. I don't see where you're coming from.
