hey matt.
funny you mention this. i'm under heavy contemplation of sellin it to fund my trip to the slopes this year. honestly, its ok, but definitely not as grand as others make it out to be. for the retail price its ridiculous. the design's poor, all's cramped up, this causes too much gain = poorer sound. though, with the speakers i'm using, it neednt really matter. on top of that, it heats up like a mofo, and on summer days, will literally make you sweat. sampler also feels like an after thought, but maybe that's cause i don't know how to use it properly.
but with all that said, i think pio eq's are tight, and the cue split headphone monitoring's a beaut. also allows adjusting of x-fader curve, but *shrug* no point if u use chan faders. djm600 seems a bit of a novelty i think. something u have to have at first, but once u have it, really isnt all that great.
if ur doin research, ensure you check this out
ecler smac pro 40, from the smac pro series. made in spain, touchin it, i could already tell the build and component quality is very nice. 3 band eqs are tight, tho knobs are lil big. has a kill for each. also has a weird punch button feature which jumps from channel to channel i think. the circuit boards in it are vertically placed too, so if you spill shit on ur mixer, there's lesser chance of damage. i've yet to hear a bad things on this, and most of all its affordable. 1K for 4 chan, 800au for 3 chan. around those prices. look it up at www.futureproducers.com/forums
think viper room here at melb has one installed in their booth.
neway, i'm rambling.. its sexy tho aint it?
Since the subject is the bedrooms. Here is a game for all of us!
The Rules of Bedroom Golf
1 Each player shall furnish his own equipment for play - normally one club and two balls.
2 Play on a course must be approved by the owner of the hole.
3 Unlike outdoor golf, the object is to get the club in the hole and the balls out of the hole.
4 For most effective play, the club should have a firm shaft. Course owners are permitted to check staff shiftness before play begins.
5 Course owners reserve the right to restrict club length to avoid damage to the hole.
6 The object of the game is to take as many stroked as necessary until the course owner is satisfied that play is complete. Failure to do so may result in being denied permission to play the course again.
7 It is considered bad form to begin playing the hole immediately upon arrival at the course. The experienced player will normally take time to admire the entire course, with special attention to well-formed bunkers.
8 Players are cautioned not to mention other courses they have played or are currently playing to the owner of the course being played. Upset course owners have been known to damage a player's equipment for this reason.
9 Players are encouraged to bring proper rain-gear for their own protection.
10 Players should assure themselves that their match has been properly scheduled, particularly when a new course is being played for the first time. Previous players have been known to become irate if they discover someone else playing on what they consider to be a private course.
11 Players should not assume a course is in shape for play at all times. Some players may be embarrassed if they find the course to be temporarily under repair. Players are advised to be extremely tactful in this situation. More advanced players will find alternate means of play when this is the case.
12 Players are advised to obatin the course owner's permission before attempting to play the back nine.
13 Slow play is encouraged. However, players should be prepared to proceed at a faster pace at course owner's request.
14 It is considered outstanding performance, time permitting, to play the game hole several times in one match.
Here`s a pic I took recently of my bedroom:

As you can see I have little time to do anything with it, let alone clean it up !

LMAO @ tranceilvania & joob, lol you crazy guys

and jay-kue, you seem to lean towards battle mixers, or mixers more designed for turntablism/hip hop/scratching/rap etc.
The mixer you posted does like alright, but for trance I don't see then need for punching in or out tracks, or for such a tiny fader...
you should look more for the functions you want, than what looks pretty :P
there's some nice stanton mixers which look, and feel awesome..but they're designed for other styles of music, you can almost blow the crossfader across; it's that smooth.
But you don't really want that for trance.
I'd be looking for split cue, nice eqs, eq kills, possibly pan on channels. And separate channel vu meters.
But everyone has their own choice...
hey hybrid,
eh? *scratches head* the smac pro series is primarily used for trance, house, tech. etc. the cross fader jus seems small from the angle, but it measures the same width as the 2 vu meters on there. mayb u have it mixed up with the hak series? the punch feature, i agree u probably won't need, but its interesting nonetheless to maybe see what you can do with it. its all about innovation n creativity no? other than that, it has pretty much all the other features you need. the faders are very nice. not liquid n loose, but the kinda smooth which has that teeny weeny bit of resistance. kills are there too, but their switches are plastic which kinda feels like u can snap off if u get too excited. other than that =)
Yeah probably the angle, just looks dodge.
and I find punch buttons kinda meh, they've been around for a good couple of years, so not really innovative...
but I understand, not dissin, just makin sure

Nice one mate...whats with all teh DVD Drives? n how much were the two techs n mixer?

Why so many DVD ROM drives? only 1 of the 3 are working - the other two are dead due to flashing the firmware incorrectly [but they werent mine in the first place hehe]
