Sorry to keep bringing this old thread back from the dead guys, but that book Metabeing recommended finally arrived today. It's a collection of short (sometimes very short) stories.
After reading the first one about a bunch of kids who go shopping I just thought "what the fuck has Metabeing got me reading, the freak". But then I read the next one, and a few more and jesus christ, this stuff is amazing!
I can't even begin to describe some of these, he's writing about such obscure and wierd events but does it in such a way that it's as though it's all totally normal. And it's like he's written them just for me because everything I do and everything I am seems encapsulated in this book. I dunno, I'm not a writer, I wish I could describe it.
The guy was obviously trippin' when he wrote this
I'm not even half way through yet. The only annoying thing is I know I'll finish it by the end of the day coz I can't put it down.
Cheers Meta, I'll be ordering the rest this weekend

I've only read Part 1 - Illusion's Perfume so far. The two that stood out were Solace and Homo Karaoke (which I'm guessing might have something to do with Hands of the DJ which you mentioned (don't tell me though :P). Also the Alphabox ones were really compelling. To be honest I could mention them all, haha. Anyway I'm off to read Part 2.
People: buy this book
Some of my favorite books:
The Tao of Curious George
Hermeneutical Phenomenology in the Philosophy of Epistemological Analysis
Why is Johnny so Spastic: Contemporary Writings on Spasticism
Let's Have Mass Orgies on Jupiter!
