Better than Ferry's, I think. It has more edge. But what is with the discordant bass-melody overlay right at the beginning? That needs to be snipped out.

I'm sure the flying Dutchman isn't too thrilled right now.

Also, both are products of their time. Ferry's remix represented the 99 trance sound, and Tiesto's mix is a natural progression of that to what trance sounds more like today.

mmm i'll wait till i get a better rip of this one one thing is clear it totally rocked my boxers when i heared it live!! (but ferry remix is still one of my alltime fav so i dont think will outpass it )

btw... why keep babling about william orbit it's samuel barbers (from platoon)

I don't like and have never liked Ferry's remix, who cares? I don't like how he developed the harmony into a major key after the breakdown, it just doesn't sound right to me. I had played the original Barber a thousand times with my orchestra before the Ferry mix ever came out and when I heard that remix it sounded like an insult to Barber. Sorry if you don't like my opinion, but that's just the way it is.

And Tijs has proven to me enough times that he's above Ferry in every way (except beatmatching). However, it would be pointless to discuss that here because everyone knows that you're a Ferry Corsten whore and I'm a Tiesto whore.

edit: Cobalt's right. Both remixes are products of their time and I recognize that Ferry's mix is quality too production-wise (even if i don't like it).

oh really, then I wanna hear a PvD 'rework' or re-edit of Barber's Adagio. It would be interesting to see how it would turn out with his amazingly original bassline

Thumbs up

After repeating this track a 100 times at work today, I was wondering this: If there is another world after this and I can take one tune over there-----------> It's this one

I would have paid that 45 euro with love just to here this track!!!

Can't wait for the DVD

heh. don`t pull this comment again, because I could number shitloads of tracks from Tiesto, Ferry, Armin, DuMonde, and which I do not think are 'original' as you define.

btw, if you didn`t get it, I was just taking the piss of you and az with my comment (wouldn`t mind to hear a pvd rmx of adagio but then again, I don`t pvd would do it )

Very similar to the "hardness" to Cor Fijneman - Venus(Tiesto Mix)

how can someone who doesn`t use synths at all be cheese??? as far as I am concered, Paul`s tracks are not overloaded of synths like armin van buuren's or system f/ferry corsten...

Posted by allstar on May-12-2003 00:45:

I definitely prefer this new style of Tiesto. It's original.
