I don't remember entering myself in this system, but go ahead and put me in it. I don't know how long I'll be able to participate, but I'll do whatever I can.
Thanks Kaos.
i think 30 mins is too short. i say 45 mins min, preflably an hour if pos. i dont think you can do too much in 30 mins that all. 5 tunes if your lucky.
you could alwasy mix dj dean style

that means a set starter, 1 buildup tune!?, 1 climax, 1 finisher, haha

i could do a page for it as well based on php and mysql. this would allow a lot of stuff like an automatic ranking. also each dj could get an account and challenge another one, and everyone could see who is currently challenging whom and so on...
i also think challenging should be one n 2 weeks thus also those who don't have that much time are able to participate... also i personally think 30 mins is a too little, imo 45 mins would be better.
honestly i don't like the ranking system. the following would be better imo:
- each battle can end with a victory (resulting a defeat for the other competitor). there should also be a possibility for the battle to end in a draw
- vitory gets 2 pts, draw 1 point for each c., defeat 0 points
like this you could do the ranking system like in sports, but each competitor should start with no ranking and no points. if 2 competitors have the same amount of points, the one having more victories will be higher-ranked
just my 2 cents
3 points would be better, if it was a leaugue tho we could only have say 10 competitors first time round coz that's still 9 battles per competitor, 18 weeks, knocking on 4-5 months...

| Originally posted by DJ NGE At first i also thought of 3 points for the winner, but i think this would be too much, the gaps between the djs would become too big... i personally am for 2 pts / victory, but if you like 3 better i won't stop ya |

wow, just read through the threads, i'm totally impressed.
kaos, i said most of my ideas already in our other conversation. i hope you put something sweet together.
i am hoping The Ladder is set up so a competitor would get challenged and need to be ready to mix right away. i probably wouldnt be interested if there wasnt lots of mixing and challenges going on. That being said, I just won an award to go to the Netherlands for 8 weeks
and I will be away from my tables
. I would LOVE to compete upon my return, but i currently cannot put the time in (any time actually), and so i feel kinda like its my "duty" to say so. i'm sorry but i hope my involvement early on gets me an in when i get back. i dont know how your setting it up, but i can still judge because i AM bringing my laptop. i prefer Progressive, Prog Trance, Hard Trance, Trance, Deep House, Prog House, and Tech Trance.
have fun kids, i'm going to trance mecca

what at least goes on the webpage should be talked over, but nearly anything is possible except one thing: i don't have any webspace where the best mixes can be uploaded. perhaps we should do this via ed2k or sig2dat links... i don't know anything else
I'm in as a judge, I got lots of problem with my turntables, so I prefer not participating as an athlete.
My style is: Uplifting Trance, Hard Trance, Tech Trance, Techno, Hardtek
Sign me up for this! Just slot me in somewhere near the bottom of current entrants - I like a challnge.

I can't be an "athlete" because of the lack of required hardware/software to broadcast my mixes. I'm getting my first demos recorded this Sunday after spinning for 2 years, so you can see why I can't participate to compete.
I'd love to become a judge though, if that's possible...thanks!
