no return and urban shakedown are easy to confuse one with another :P

alec and me too thought it played but my bro said it was no return and it was true

I didnt mind the begning of tiesto's set, I was trying to be open minded, it was really chill.. ... I found Once Tiesto Dropped Firewall-Sincere his set really took off... I was blown away many times.I felt like he took me on a journey. Armin was great as well he had some incredible build ups... and god damn Igor s-boomerang is amazing in a club.. so much energy. I thought I was going to die from Dhydration as well.. my tongue and the hole inside of my mouth is soar and dry and my voice is gone. Thats twice now where aria did that to me. I cant wait for the new air conditioning. I really wish I could go next week to see Ferry, I have never seen him before.

holy craperoonie....what a night....I came and slept at 2:15pm yesterday and I just got up at 8:00 today....

from when organizing rides and crap for getting to montreal t'ill when we walked to the car going home..I could always feel the music. it was great yes, but the fact is, I had no damn sleep what so ever..and that was the wronnggggggg thing to do...

ah well...as we all sat in the car talking about the night to come and past nights (greg, shaun, alec, hasan, and me) I was all about tiesto, just like I always am.

wow..I thought we wouldn't make the armin meet up, as did alec, who was already pissed about missing his interviews (sorry 'bout that man...we shoulda bussed!). we get to amir at like, 11:06 and there are a few people there, like raul, patrick, charlie, taha, and...uhm..damn I forget his name (sorry man)...but anyway, we asked if armin was coming and they said no!..I knew that they were coming soon. as soon as I seen mazen walking and looked behind him, I saw armin! wow hes a big guy in reality..and behind him david lewis (really nice guy..armins manager). Armin says "well...I guess these are the supreme trance-addicts, isn't it!" hehe..then he hands us the premiere copies of the new tracks pressed....ohh I was so happy..I'm sure everyone else was 2. Masters & Nickelson feat. Justine Suissa - 5th Dimension...now..I got him to sign my yet another day vinyl and he personalized it.."to chris: thanks 4 the support, love from holland ARMIN " they left. the rest of the guys just walk in..and oh it was a sad thing to say that armin had just left..

anyway..taha helped me and a few of the other guys in..thank you so much brother...I owe you one..it meant a lot.

anyway..we get in and I was just relaxing to yaz (as always, either preach or yaz) and tijs came on..and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I went crazy..I wish I would have seen the bitch that actually pulled the plug and tried to get into the booth..I would have spit in her face...geez..at least tijs didn't take it too badly..he was actually signing shit like crazy when the music cut off...anyway, great set..all the tracks I expected to hear..and it gave me even more love for the choons.

armin comes along playing reallly great trance...ohh it was great..I don't know..I was just so exhauseted and tired...I would have been out on the floor dancing if it wasn't so hot..but anyway, jf says new air con will come soon..so thats good. I just thought armin would be a bit smaller..but I only guessed that because of pics.

guy ornadel..reallly cool stuff...hes got skills him..I was watching him a bit and wow..he beatmatches in like 2 seconds and then pulls the track in right away. I didn't think he was bad..and the club was getting a little loose as people left..so it was nice..but still I was tired..

the ride home consisted of, lame jokes, drule, ears ringing..the smell of tuna and cologne, mcdonalds workers who tried their hardest to speak english (to me at least), and ...did I say lame jokes?

hope everyone had a blast..because I sure did...w0000tttt

Tiesto = #1

I think last night Tiesto showed just why he is number one! He difinitely had the set of the night and was able to recover succesfully after a 5 minute music interruption(unlike PVD who couldn't recover after a CD skip 2 months earlier). Tiesto was able to play techno, trance and prog all in one set and has done so amazingly well!(unlike Armin, who got very boring during the techno parts of his set)

I think the crowd had the best reaction to Ton. B - Electronic Malfunction. It's impossible to describe in words what was going on on the dancefloor when Tiesto dropped that bomb! Tiesto = The man ! And the funny thing is, he didn't play tooo many anthems.. Well there were some, but his set primarily consisted of new tracks.

Armin played some good tracks, but I thought he didn't really had it going for him after Tiesto.... Guy Ornadel was kind of dissapointing, I must say I expected to hear a different type of Trance from him(His November set at Guvernment was absolutely different)

Thanks to everyone who's been there with me! I think people who you spend your time with at a party are just as, if not more important than the music!

Posted by $$SIEFER17 on Jun-15-2003 15:06:

if anyone here can tell me that tiesto had horrible mixing I think you're dumb and not thinking once about what he himself has to go through..

the guy needs time to prepare music, not to get piled with papers and stuff to be signed. if u want something signed, wait for the right time to come and not just anytime. in the end, im sure everyone got what they wanted signed (even myself) but he's always number 1 for me, no matter what.

Posted by mastercongo on Jun-15-2003 17:13:

the big tunes tiesto played, armin also plays them, i think it was hard for armin to pull it off after tiesto. it's like he didn't left anything for him to play (big tunes) armin had to even play some nu nrg tunes. lol. but still with the fresh tunes he has from "push" it was enough to pull a great set.

and everyone knows the tune of the night was holden and thompson - nothing

it was played by yaz, tiesto and armin. and the tune with the biggest reaction on tiesto set was for sure flight 643. that tune is nuts on a club.

add Midway - Inca to tiestos tracks, and 4X4 - Indigo (Passiva Remix) to Guy's tracks

Posted by Mekroon on Jun-15-2003 18:07:

HI GUYS!!!!!!
what a night!!!!!
recently ive been enjoying techno way more than trance but i can assure u that i fell in love again
both Tisto & Armin were awesome: tijs had some major fuck going on during his performance (the sound, a table that seemed to skip a bit, some major mixing errors) but still u guys are able to admit it was a hell of a good set!
Tisto spun some unbelivable tunes (kind of groovy great to dance tracks, Master surely knew some of em), trance anthems, new prog stuff and some of his ultimate success. He knew how to switch nicely from one style to another thats why it was so magikal!

About Armin: can i say something more convincing than OMFG!!! he mixed almost perfectly and he played some hard techno tracks (thx Zing if u asked him to play harder it made the night to hear Crown played by ARMIN
armin had some pressure cause he had to pull a great set after #1's performance and he did it pretty well imo with a good mix between new tracks and old anthems...
nice to see u all it was a fantastic night for me i hope its the same for u

Posted by Mekroon on Jun-15-2003 18:23:

btw no one spun North Pole

Posted by ACA2000 on Jun-15-2003 18:25:

i don't remember who it was that played firewall - sincere, what remix did they play?
i don't think it was the original...

Posted by Durafei on Jun-15-2003 18:37:

Btw, I never knew Midway - Inca sounded sooooooo amazing on a good soundsystem. I didn't really like it before, but when Tiesto dropped it felt absolutely brilliant !

Posted by EldamRy on Jun-15-2003 19:10:

Wath a nice night ....

except for the crowd ( too jampacked ) and the heat

Tiesto set was better at the Dagobert according me .... he dropped the same hit ( ex: Tears from the moon ) and other song from nyana.

I think its was better @Quebec 'cause it was less jampacked then @ the Aria

Armin set : OMFG ! BEST SET !

This was a expensiv week-end for me ... but I NERVER EVER thinked about it .

Hi to all TA I saw at the Aria !

Posted by At0mik on Jun-15-2003 19:19:

OMG the night was absolutely nuts, pure fun !!!

Tiesto's set was fantastic, really like a journey that took us through different emotions. It was a bit hot inside ARIA but there was so many great tunes, so many incredible people dancing, waving, singing !!!! And Tiesto seemed to really have enjoyed the night too: he was dancing, waving and smiling all night long. Even when the sound cutted at the beginning (some girl tripped a wire or something) he kept signing stuff and smiling. After that I feel his set became even better. So many people were singing along on "as the Rush comes" and when he dropped, "Flight 643" the crowd in front of the DJ booth went crazy ! The best part of the night was certainly the 30 minutes encore: he was supposed to finish at 4:30 but kept spinning until well past 5:00.
Incredible track selection, great mixing, awesome interactions with the crowd: now I trully understand why Tiesto is #1. No questions, TIESTO TOTALLY RULES !!!

I don't know who brought them but, as the 2 awesome giant banners said:
"We love tiesto"
"Breda's Beste"

I couldn't believe my eyes and when Tiesto saw them you could see that he was really amazed. Nice work people !!!
!!! Montreal loves you Tiesto, please come back soon !!!

Tiesto's set drained my energy but after Tiesto it was Armin's turn ! He was also awesome but I was so exhausted... after a short break and a few energy drinks, back to the dance floor. There was a little less people and more room to dance. Armin played a little harder tunes and it kept me dancing until the end !!! Starting with "Igor S, Boomerang", he dropped some "Push", "basic dawn - Pure Thrust" and it was really great, one of his best sets I think.

Summary: I still can't believe I saw two pillars of trance the same night !!!

I'm so eager to see pictures from that night ! Somebody from Aria was also videotaping I think so maybe there will be a movie available too !!!

tiesto played : agoria - la 11iem marche

Zing wasn't there though. That's techno my friends!

Funny you should mention that.. I didn't hear anyone singing along to that track except for myself and a couple of other TAs.. And we were very close to the DJ booth - supposedly where most knowledgeble crowd is..

Posted by At0mik on Jun-15-2003 20:01:

I was right in the middle of the dancefloor and I'm almost sure than I heard quite few people singing ! Ok maybe not "so many" as I put it before but definitly more than I expected... oh well maybe I was imagining things as I was dancing with my eyes closed

Posted by mastercongo on Jun-15-2003 21:33:

i was impressed with the reaction when he played the gabriel and dresden remix of mindcircus. i know way out west is well known for that tune. but not that remix. seems many people got his in search of sunrise 3 cd :P that's where im thinking they heard it.

and also tiesto played some tracks im after. so many good stuff i never heard before. im on the lookup for the names on recent livesets :P

Man what a night!

We got to the club at 12am, but had to wait out in the rain till 12:50, until they let us in. Once I got inside, I ran into SteroPrincess right away (who turned out to be my saviour, by telling me about the sweet spot in front of the fan). As I entered the main room, the HEATWAVE hit me! I could not believe hot fucken hot that club was (and you people complain about the Guvernment, the Guv. is cold in comparison). The heat nearly caused me to have a heatstroke, I stareted to get dizzy, nauseous, got a massive headache, my muscles started cramping up, and I started to lose feeling in my fingertips and toes. The club was also grossly overcrowded.

Now that I got the negatives out of the way, all I have to say is that the music was unbelievable. I got there just as Tiesto started his set, the first 30min or so was a little boring, but after that it was slamming, and the encore was just off the charts. Armin's set was also great, but not as good as some of the ones he dropped here in TO before. Unfortunately, due to the excessive heat I had to take frequent breaks during Armin's set, but I manged to catch most of it. To top things off, Guy Ornadel, spun a magnificant ending set, it was very trancey and melodic. We ended up leaving when the club closed at around 12:30pm, exhausted, barely walking, but deeply satisfied.

June 13th at Aria, was TIESTO's night, he really showed everyone why he truly is the #1 DJ in the world. For me June 13th at Aria, was a night I'll never forget, both the bitter and the sweet.

P.S Shout outs going to all the TAs I met, SteroPrincess, Mike and Jenna, Nrg2Infinit, PVDRules, Walter Mindz, Hansolo, and all the others I can't recall at the moment.

I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

OMGGGG

I used to love it so much..then it died on me...and NOW I HAVE TO buy it on vinyl..HAVE TO...that track blew me away for the second time!

aswell as THE AMBUSH - ACAPULCO

add the ambush - acapulco to the tracklist

Posted by StereoPrincess on Jun-16-2003 01:12:

Tiesto also spun Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes. It was such a surprise for me to hear that old song that it became one of the highlights of the night.
