Will you tiesto lovers get the clue
Yes I am a tiesto fan...always have been....of late..i've almost given up on him.
Case and Point
1999-2001...Tiesto played very good vocal tracks and mixed well (he tried his best) and it was great. I saw him live in 2001 and he totally rocked the fucking place. Then somewhere after DD 2002, Tiesto went into a mode that he has still to get out of. If you look now, guy just uses the fucking crossfader....does'nt mix the records from one another. I saw him in dec 2002 and it confirmed my worst fears....tiesto lost it. He was back to playing WEAK vocal tunes..i mean his remix of die another day....awful vocal tune....then played raging...another awful vocal tune. He used to pick his records better than this. He is simply not trying to mix records and I think the entire World's Number DJ has gone straight to his head. If you look at his hero Paul Oakenfold....tiesto is so close to falling down the same road. Oakenfold went from top to bottom very quickly and had to reinvent himself and Tiesto is falling down the same road. If I was tiesto, I'd take monique on a world trip...take a month or two off....don't listen to music...come back refreshed. Tiesto is going to crash and burn but most ppl disregard it. Then again, I'll tell you...I told you so when it happens.

very simple, TIESTO : Great Producer/Remixer BAD DJ thats it.
* wonders what exactly makes someone a "tool" *
BTW, Tiesto isn't getting any younger
how old is he? can he still exude that youthful innovation and energy?
Well at 34 (?) I wouldn't exactly expect his bones to be creaking :|

Originally posted by skip uhhh.. very skillfull provocation! not! but a stupid and childish comment IMO! IMO the dvd was pretty useless like they probably all are (except for real movies of course), but still there's no need to bash and provocate IMO! you should show some respect. why can't we all just get along? the electronic music scene is suffering from all this bashing and hatered! where has the peace gone? where has the love gone? where has the unity gone? where has the respect gone? they're all lost mostly because of people like you. i don't enjoy pvd that much, but i'm not going around declaring that he sucks etc. etc. because that is not very wise! IMO people should think before posting! that's all. |

What comments are these?
And should I respect Tiesto because he's brought out a DVD?
And I'm going to have to say that I'm not not getting along with anyone. I was just having a little discussion
It seems to me that a lot of the time people observing the argument take it a lot more seriouselly then the people arguing. People in this thread have made a lot of well articulated and good points. I don't think anyones feelings have been really hurt, that is unless Tiesto somehow finds this thread Why is it whenever a discussion gets in any way heated several people feel it there place to come in and tell everyone not to discuss or argue, whatever the case may be. Clearly people still will regardless, and as long as were not coming to real hate mongering I don't see what the problem with that is?

OK.
Tiesto 'haters', in their opinion, say that the only good stuff Tiesto has came out with were remixes or productions with someone else.
Fair enough. But, tell me this, can't you say that about pretty much everyone?
After bashing Tiesto, and yes some of you are, they then go and say that Armin is the greatest and his mixing his awesome. These 'haters' then go and rip Nyana and ISOS for its poor mixing/tracks/whatever. Yet, they do not mention any of Armin SOLO productions that are "so" much better than Tiesto's.
IMO, 76 (for example, his latest work) is pretty crappy. Lots of useless vocals, and a bland/repetitive sound. And looking at the tracklist, most of the tracks feature other producers too.
Anyways, these Tiesto bashing threads seem to pop up every other week, whether the orginal poster wanted it or not. Popular people in public positions will always get bashed. And it's pointless. Everyone has their opinion and it won't change no matter how much some of you try. So, just give it up already.
da fuck are you talking about
nyana was horrid
then again...armin van boring has been shit of late
I don't think i have enough experience with trance to give a indepth opinion on this, but i'm going to try, just say if it's a crock of **** or not tbh.
I personally don't have a general section of trance i prefer, if i like what i hear, i listen to it, it doesn't matter who it's by really.
Personally, i am a fan of tiesto, mainly because of the vibe i can feel from his sets, i'm also a fan of armin and pvd, plus mainy other dj's.
Yes, i prefer tiesto because of this vibe, but i like the way armin can change his sets so simply, and the energy that pvd's sets have.
I agree with torontotrance here, tiesto does need a break of a few months, he's gotta be damn bored playing some of the same tunes over and over again, anyone would be. Also, tiesto needs to look back and listen to his sets from 1999 - through 2000 and upto mid 2001, that is the style that makes him a good DJ, with the new style he started with, he cannot mix for shit tbh, it doesn't suit him.
I haven't enjoyed tiesto's sets of late, though i haven't had the change to listen to Tiesto in Concert yet (link anyone? ).
This post is getting to long...gonna finish off with a quick note, Tiesto is a crowd pleaser, he tries to get the crowd worked up and does interact a lot, this is what i think with his fans makes him the number one DJ in the world, but unless he goes back and listens and learns from his old days, he won't be number one for much longer (officially)
damn, long post =/
I agree that there are plenty of djs better technically than Tiesto. But he has had some killer productions as of late, and he plays great to the crowd, which I'm sure other dj's do but I wouldn't know because they never see fit to come to Denver. The one thing that makes me like him so much is simply that he plays the US more, and not just cities like LA, NY and Miami. You know how long it's been since we've had Ferry or Armin play Denver? As if we even have a chance of pulling some of the other great djs out there, I'd kill to see Marco V live but what's the odds of him coming here?
Tiesto comes here on a fairly regular basis, and for that I'll always respect him a little more than other djs...
One great thing is atleast PvD has finally started coming to Denver too, just another week before he demolishes Red Rocks!
The point that I made acout most of, if not all of Tiesto's good productions being with other people is in my opinion completelly valid. I'll name some other big artists and solo productions they've done that are amazing.

For five of the biggest artists I've named five huge tracks they produced on their own (to the best of my knowledge). Can you do the same for Tiesto?
