For example if someone called him self a big flutlicht fan has all there songs on mp3s...but never bought a record of theres or a cd that contain one of there songs or anything from them ... tell me how good of a fan is that person. I mean if you love someones work so much isnt it worth saving some money and buying there records ...thats the point im getting at

i doubt mp3s are the SOLE reason for quitting, but i'd be willing to bet that it did contribute it. i mean, the kid is 22 or something like that. i'm sure he has bills to pay and producing trance for peanuts probably isn't cutting it. losing interest in trance is probably still the main reason though.

No offense, but this statement right here sounds a hell of a lot like you're placing all the blame on mp3 downloaders. So it is no surprise that I interpreted it that way. I'm glad that you don't see it that way,tho

And once again I repeat:the industry seems to forget that mp3s are the main reason that many people buy even more records from artists who need it,and the main reason for even getting into the scene in the first place. That is true in my case, and in countless others, esp here on TA.

a lot of the reasons i think you'll find is stress, marco works his ass off, and at such a young age he's done so much, yet maybe isn't happy in life, it's nothing to do with him deciding prog is better or he doesnt like the music anymore, its that he needs a break, a change, not 20 hour days producing to deadlines, and hopefully with one, he'll come back stronger, if not, he's done enough to prove.

For ppl saying he was flutlicht/shokk, remember that Dani DJs for Flutlicht & Claudio for SHOKK and i hope they produce together, but marco will be missed by his true fans.

don't you rip for a ripping group though? so that'd make you more to blame than most?

im debating on if i want to do that anymore but ...i dont mind people downloda mp3s when they still buy records on the side u know ..i just cant stand people who leech over and over again and never purchase anyting.... and yes i can be blamed for a lot of stuff but believe me i dont release everythign i have i just do enough to get access to unreleased material because i dj weekly at venue and i want to be up to date with material but i always buy the vinyl of the records i truely play and like. i dont use soulseek or any p2p programs anymore for the reason of sharing i only share with fellow dj buddies. all im saying its not much to ask for and if everyone would buy records once in a while the whole mp3 industry wouldnt be as bad as it is...like i said before in a previous im guilty for mp3s but i mean we can still do things to help these producers out like use mp3s as new unreleased material and to see what tracks ud want to buy... its just sad to see labels going out of business and producers not making enough money and i just think everyone that downloads numerous mp3s should start buying some records and cds ...

cant blame ppl that dl music really. technology is always changing and if you are unable to grasp it, then it is your loss. Im not saying music piracy is ethically right, but producers should be aware that music piracy is out there and should look to make money by doing other things. . . such as djing more gigs (perhaps on a global scale) and promoting their shit more. I know for a fact that these guys rarely came to the US so yea.

I don't think Marco has something against MP3s.

I think it MUST be more the situation in our country.

When I figured out that SHOKK & Flutlicht were swiss, I went crazy! I started following their position in the swiss trance culture.

I don't need to tell what they managed to get in Europe! But in swiss, all the time from their upcoming until now, the big event organisators piss on them!

Last year I was VERY angry at the organisators of Energy (the biggest indoor event during the year!), they didn't even invite neither Flutlicht nor SHOKK!

This year they seemed to invite both, but what do both get? They both play at the same time, for about 30 minutes of time! And this at 7.30 in the morning! WTF?!

And first the MAIN DJs in swiss didn't even notice them, since they WERE a BIG menace for them, since DJ Natron & DJ Giotto had such a talent in DJing but what counts even more, with Marco in the back, they managed to produce such energetic tunes all the Trance DJs over the world played it! Except for the swiss.. Suckers! The club owners (such as DJ Mind-X) didn't invite them at all to their clubs, or even tried to get them for their own team, of course wanting them to release their tunes under their own name. (But they didn't give a fuck for even thinking about to release their tunes BEFORE they had such a success).

Now it's still quite the same, except for Marco produces for DJ Energy AND DJ Tatana, under THEIR name, and I don't think they really appreciate it.

Besides, the scene in swiss is getting more and more Hardstyle!

I'm surprised many of you haven't thought of it yet, but won't all of his first and best vinyls become high valued collector items amongst the DJ community? I'm just thinking, but maybe he's been told by his label to do this to get some quick cash from overprices "retired" name of FLutlicht/SHOKK and then bring him back under another alias??
This sin't the first time something like this has been done.
All I know is I'm grabbing any vinyls by this artist I can find, not only b/c of the value, but b/c I love his stuff.

if you see the #s of record sales that most music in electronic industry sale you would be shocked that its not much and youd be shocked that many of your favorite producers dont get shit for money ...saying that you cant blame people for downloading isnt what im doing downloading is part of the future but the fact is technology doesnt leave us un responsible in doing someone right for a change like giving back to these guy for giving us something we love so dearly i mean with out them we would still be listening to shitty radio music just remember that. i think its time people faced up to there responsiblity and did something more and not just say well its just the way it is i get free music so i dont need to buy anything ever again ..shows how people are so stingy with there money even when it comes to something so special in there lives. Many of you that dont see a problem with what i said are so caught up with getting everything for free ... god forbid you have to go buy something once in a while just to help these guys out ..im not saying stop downloading mp3s i never said that once but some of you need to contribute little more then what you guys do when it comes to records/cd purchasing. because i will garentee you this more people take these mp3s and never go out buy records if this keeps on going then you might have to kiss it goodbye...i know mp3s has brought a huge fan base to this music but its now time for these people who cashed in tracks free all these years to finally do what a fan expected of them and go buy some records once in a while. Otherwise kiss this scene goodbye because many of you dont notice that many labels are on the verge of saying fuck it we cant make enough money to even put tracks out anymore. and let me say this one more time i didnt say people should stop downloading mp3s like many of you think im saying im just saying wouldnt hurt for once some of you pulled some cash out of your back pocket and go to your local record store or cd store and buy something from these produces/djs for exchange. Im not talking about these overpayed top 40 artist im talking about artist that are in the electronic world because far to none make a decent living producing tracks, and far to non of the dj make a decent living on that few of the guys who do which is good for them but 90% of the djs and producers arnt making shit for money when it comes to there music and i think they deserve to get paid more then they should. i would just like the guys who dont buy records or cd and download mp3s all the time to sit and think about what i said and tell your self buying a few records a month isnt that bad.

i see your point but i hightly doubt that these producers would be foolish enough to think that they would make substancial income from producing trance records. And no, im not shocked that the electronic music industry wont make you a lot of money and anyone that thinks that they can be rich off of it, has another thing coming to them. And not only that, almost every other sentence in your post has the word "money" in it. Supporting the scene is not buying your fav producer's record and making him rich. Look at metallica, oakenfold etc. . . . .we supported them and look wat happened. Now they are the ones fucking up the scene.
Supporting the scene is creating shows, booking these artists, and coming out to listen to wat the dj has to offer. Without mp3s, recent popular artists wouldn't even be where they are today. DJs owe mp3 technology their careers and once theyve become rich, theyve become hipocrits and bashing it.
If a dj/producer truly cared about wat he was doing, he'd get his ass up and promote his shit through lots of gigs. Not by making some tracks and sittin your ass at home waiting for the check to come and complainin that it aint shit. A true musician will play his music to ppl for free. All that matters is that ppl hear their music and feel wat they feel.

The only reason why the scene is still alive is because of mp3 technology. You can bash that all you want whether your a dj/producer/or even a morally ethical person. You can either embrace the technology and use it to your advantage, or you can sit at home and cry out a river.

Well thats well shitty, Flutlicht have been my fav production team since I first heard Icarus, big respect to both of you guys.

You guys were my cure for Dumonde's downward spiral last year, and I'd like to thank you for my fav track of last year (Your amazing remix of Green Court - Silent Heart).

Also, this means you'll never get around to possibly doing a remix that I have hoped you'd consider for ages (Rodd-Y-Ler - Lifesigns), me and a mate even mailed your site a few times asking if you'd just give the track a listen.

To my favourite producers of the last year, who's basslines never failed to get me on the dancefloor, I salute you!

im not agasit mp3 at any bit .... and no its not all about money but hey your getting something from them ...well ask your self this what are you giving them?????? shouldnt it be a give and take kinda thing to me sounds like u think its absolutely right to just take and say well hey its technology you shouldnt make money for what you do.. the real world is you want to make money with things you put ton of time and effort in it ... you act like just some artist wants to make money from his work is selling out thats not the reason at all . And no they will never be rich but shit they should be granted some kinda finacial support on our part especially when the scene is really down at the moment.. but like i said probably is way to much to ask for with most of you people ... btw back to mp3s i never said mp3s are bad its just people cant always take and never give either... but this all started by people bitching about producers stop producing and im telling you this mp3s have made records sales drop so i mean if you want free mp3s u also have to shell out some dough and support these people.. or you can sit here and tell them they dont deserve the money.. because i think thats extremely hypocritical i bet you wouldnt say if you were producer and all your tracks you dont see any kind of money going back may 1000$ for the track because the label cost to press the record was more then all the sales...which happen time in and time out ...and then you can say these guys want to be rich thats bs i think they should get something for what they do and not have to cut loses because some morons dont feel like shelling out some cash once in a while... all im saying is dont bitch in the near future when this industry goes to shits even more. Support is spread extremely thin in this industry yeah you can go to shows and all but fact is producers arnt getting booked djs are you go see dj spin and pay to get in supporting the dj...doesnt support the producer buying records support the producers!

one more thing yeah djs can be grafeful for mp3 world to bring the fan based more globaly but that doesnt mean that these producers shouldnt get a penny our of the music and that people should just leech freely

regarless if its his descison or not the fact is there is a problem with labels going out of business and im just giving you guys a point of view that says hey we can do much more to support these guys but we dont..most of us sit at home and leech all fuckin day and never shelled out a buck for anyting musical ..wow true fans ...sounds like flaky fans to me that take till they cant take anymore and never put anything in the put of gold for eveyrone else. im not saying your this way in anyway im just saying many are this way and hey if this keeps up you guys can start listening to top 40 again because thats all that will be left.
