what that short list fails to mention is the seemless blend between tracks, adding up to basically a 6+ minute instrumental intro to a great dark rock tune followed by maybe my favorite rock band ballad (silent Man) since none other than :
Queensryche's Silent Lucidity. (Surprised that hadn't been mentioned yet)
Tool gives me wood, and Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and STP (early STP) were definitely some of my fave listening materials of the early-mid '90's. Lots more of course, and though I was never and will never be one of those rabid NiN fans, I'll never ask someone to turn it off... heh
Pretty much anything from "Godspeed You Black Emperor!", especially the song "Sad Mafioso".

Lots of hip-hop DJs/turntablists: DJ Shadow, DJ Z-Trip, DJ P, Yoda, Greenpeace. As for MCs: Dilated Peoples, Beastie Boys (favorite band of all time), Jurassic 5. Lots of funky house, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, Tim Deluxe. Techno is great, too. Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Marco Bailey. I also listen to Air, Zero 7, Hatebreed, and some others.

Depeche Mode, New Order, U2, Wolfsheim, Big Country, Joy Division, The Cure, OMD, A Flock of Seagulls (!), PSB and a lot more.......like Garbage, Cranberries, Electronic, The Smiths, Morrissey......and so on

Also listen to hip hop like 2pac, Dre, Eminem, Biggie, Snoop and some of that underground stuff like DJ Revolution, Roc Raida, X-ecutioners, Dilated Peoples, Planet Asia
Also, if I'm in the right mood I might listen to some movie scores like Gladiator, Batman, American Beuty, Braveheart, The Rock..

couple of months ago, after being persuaded into listening to this and loving the album, i bought:

great stuff. its basically modern jazz covers of bob marley's classics. was never into jazz before but, this album is fantastic!
