And remember to vote...yeah your thinking what does it matter....but if you don't vote then you got no right to complain....and what about writing to your representatives in congress....all states have 2 senators and numerous reps. send them a line and tell them what you think instead of bitching on the board.

*standing ovation*
damn straight twilo...i was thinking the EXACT same thing..

btw romp..wed be in hella worse shape if gore would be in office..youd be kissing your freekin social security goodbye..not like theres gonna be much when we need it but theres going to be lotz more with bush in there as apposed to gore...

Romp...I support George Bush. But I'm not gonna get into why and all that stuff. I do not blame George Bush for what happened in New Orleans b/c if you know how our government is set up State rights take presedence. The government was set up like that so that the federal government could not become a like a monarchy. Not to mention that any law that Bush wants to push through has to be approved by the house of representatives as well as the senate and both are now controlled by democrats. The U.S. government is set up to be a system of checks and balances. People who do not understand the government always give the president way to much credit for things going on in the nation. If you really know how the government works you would see that Bush actually plays a relatively small role in what happens. Take same sex marriage for instance...it is legal in Hawaii. But it is not recognized by the federal government as being a legal marriage. It can be legal in Hawaii b/c state rights take presedence. Also abortion...its legal in this country but each state interperts it differntly as far as age requirements for parental consent and how far along a pregnancy can be before it is deemed too far for an abortion. State rights Romp...and this Judge who was appointed in a state by local officials who were voted in by the citizens of that state is a state issue and not a federal government issue. And I highly doubt that making glowsticks considered drug paraphanila is high on Bush's list of things to do considering that he's got to tackle such issues as health care, social security, national defense, education..etc.

Can someone tell me what Vicks Vaporub has got to do with drugs........!!!!

really don't know why

Posted by Spad on Aug-02-2001 20:25:

It gives you a pleasent feeling if you smell it when on E. Sorta splits open your head and gives it some air, lets your veins breathe a bit (not that I've tried it, haha).

Same goes for the vicks inhalers you stick up your nose, also poppers.

Everyone can agree to disagree which is cool. I respect your opinion as well. But social security is facing bankruptcy b/c our parents the baby boomers will suck it dry when they hit retirement. There's not enuff money in there for em. Social security is set up so that the working age supports the retired age. So our social security right now is paying for our gparents and soon parents and since soon there will not be enuff working people to out weigh the retired theres the issue. I def dont think Bush should invest it in stocks. But even if social dies as we know it we won't lose our standind as a world power. And the tax cut Bush gave only hurts the surplus we had which democrats would luv to spend on sillie programs. So tax cuts dont hurt S.S. either. But it's cool if you don't like Bush. He's not the greatest president but there have been worse! hehehehe

Posted by LiquidX on Aug-02-2001 23:37:

Its all kewl Twilocick . I heard about that tax cut on the CNN , that the program was gonna affect it, so they must invest it on stocks. Anyways ..you seemed to be more on top of the news, so enough of this !

Its the typical american court solution, a reactionary one.. The best analogy is a kid drowns in a lake, so the court orders that the lake be drained for our safety..

Its amazing how stupid the banning of glow sticks is, what a joke

yeah it is a joke. but it makes parents feel safer. and it makes the people think the government look like they are doing something about the increasing drug use in this country. but its sillie...i mean peeps use glowsticks for camping, at n'sync concerts...and I even seen them sold at amusement parks! so how glowsticks are linked to drug use is just crazy. i say if glow sticks be banned from clubs them ban them all together! hehehehehe p.s. i wanna buy the 3 inch sticks for my daughter's first birthday heheheh thank God I don't live in New Orleans or they might bust up the b-day party! LMAO

Smoking ..umm..something

Politicians do these things to make it look like they are addressing a problem so they can get re-elected. The police have always used drugs as an excuse to exert their control.

I'm not overly afriad that banning glow sticks is going to lead to the demise of raving. 5 yrs ago raves were underground and the police were trying to stop raves in abandon warehouses. But back then nobody really cared what we did cause the scene was so small. An old timer like me, gotta laugh at how commercial and popular raves have become. Everybody wants a piece of the action, record companies, government, lawyers, promoters,....

I'm going to keep doin what i always do, listen to my music, hang with my buds, and dance the night away. Don't care bout all that other noise.

peace

They all suck... and the cops wanna show the world that they actually *do* something.

Slightly off-topic but recently I went to a prom with this girl, and all of a sudden a cop came up to me and started accusing me of being drunk (I didn't even drink anything at all, but he saw me leave the building, -- the girl actually asked me to put her coat in my car, -- and he wanted me to confess to something I DIDN'T DO!!! He started lying to me that I failed two alcohol tests that he gave me, -- just to force me to tell him that I left the bulding to drink). I was outraged beyond belief...

Once again, this is off-topic but on the general theme of our (ahem) "protectors"... and this is not the only example.
