Unhappy

great time for the flu to kick in. my sister and her friend have been living here coughing on everything, even after i asked them to cover their mouths to be polite. this was on monday - thursday. i woke up today, and i feel like someone hit me with a hammer and scrapped my throat with rusty knives.

How was the set??
What tracks did he play?

Posted by Sean Walsh on Aug-02-2003 18:15:

AMAZING night. Paavo is seriously amazing.

Will get into more later; too tired right now =P

Some of the tunes I remember.

Dirt Devils - Music is Life (TUNE!!!!)
Dirt Devils - ??? (newest one, awesome)
Oceanlab - Beautiful Together
Signum - Push Through
Ferry Corsten - Indigo
Midway - Monkey Forest (opening tune)
Ayu - Connected (A&B mix)

Posted by apri_peel on Aug-02-2003 19:42:

also
coast 2 coast - searching (second last track)
holden and thompson - nothing (original mix)
push - journey of life ?? i think
rush and murray - epic (above and beyond remix) ?? not sure either
scott bond vs solarstone - 3rd earth
quite a few tracks that i know, but dont remember their names
also a good number of stuff i've never heard before

what i liked the most about the set was the fact that you didnt know what to expect, as opposed to armin. also lots of energy, paavo played hard and more mellow. i'm not sure about the crowd at the back, but the people in the front were loving him.

nice guy too. have fun whoever's going to apex tonight!
i'm off to try and get through 4 hrs at work without much voice left

Yep, that was a SUPERB night!

Danny, Sean, thanks for the guestlist & drinks.

Paavo was awesome, great set, good music and looked like he was having a whole lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself.

Enjoy him at Apex tonight!

He also played:
Madonna - What it Feels like for a girl (A&B remix)

What was the last song he played??? It was incredible.

BTW, I ended up waiting 30mins for a taxi to come past.. pheewwww, got to bed at 4am.

PAAVO IS KING!!!

That guy is so underrated. His set absolutly blew me away. I had more fun than when I was at Tiesto or PVD. Just awesome.

I recommend people that didn't see him go to Apex to check him out. You won't be dissapointed.

What a fun time !
Last night was great. Awsome to see some familiar faces. Paavo really impressed me. His track selection was great, just right for my tastes. Super nice guy too. When I was talking to him i said how awsome a time it was and he said with a big grin on his face "I loved it". Super cool to see that he was having fun.

Just want to give a quick thanks to Danny'n Sean for last night.

Cheers everyone !

WOAAAA!
What a night that was!
Paavo knows how to pick the tunes to play !
That was the best track trance selection I have heard.
One after the other, all the tracks were blowing the place appart. Many classics that never get old were absolute aural pleasure.
Awesome, incredible, mindblowing ! I dont want to waste words any more because its hard to describe this great night.
Thank you Sean (for the guest list and all) and Danny and the rest of the crew for an unforgetable night ! Got my Oceanlab vinyl signed and chatted to Paavo a bit. What a laid back great dude. I felt like I knew him for ages!
I hope one day he becomes highly ranked same as other great trance djs we like (Tiesto, Armin, Ferry, and so on)
Pace out till the next gathering

a little late posting

just wanted to put in my 2 cents on fri at viva. It was my first time at viva and the last gig i was at was corsten , which i was very disappointed in the special effects and lighting of that show, so with that in mind i walked into viva and was pleasantly surprised with the setup. I got a chance to chat with danny for awhile and man i could feel his energy for trance music and he really made me look forward to his set . HE didnt disappoint , he got the night started with some great explosive tracks , im not sure who followed but i think it was sean which spun a different style of trance but made sure that whoever was still seating was on the dance floor , i wish i had an oportunity to meet him so i could have gotten a copy of his single which i would have loved to play on my show , oh well maybe next time.I was really surprised with paavo , again not expecting much, he came out and showed a sign of a good dj , being able to have the crowd in the palm of his hand. Thanks again danny and sean great job keep up the good work .

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, that was me who came on after Danny. I played a bit more of a mellow style than normal as to give Paavo a lot of leeway, and considering they usually like it hard at Viva it went over quite well =)

Toss me a PM and I'll give you an URL to directly download my track. It was the last tune I played on Friday btw.

I had an absolutely amazing time! I really liked the setup at Viva, and the lights were great. Danny and Sean, you guys did great sets

Paavo was so awesome, I couldn't believe it and I wasn't expecting it at all. I had such a good time dancing, and it was great to meet some TAs, especially Elena and Kim, you guys rule

Posted by apri_peel on Aug-06-2003 02:54:

it was great to meet you too Kate
armin in just a few days
