I am desperately holding back from commenting on the best vibe thing... for the sake of being nice I will hold back.... However I suggest you check out Buzz when it reopens in DC... and Arc, Filter14, and other places in NYC... you may be pleasantly surprised...

As far as Trance is concerned, Glow is the best option in DC. You gotta give it up to Moutso and the gang for consistently being able to book top Trance talent.

the vibe in buzz was awesome, and i can't wait until it reopens! iv'e heard alot of good things about ARC i just haven't checked it out yet, i am hoping to soon though. but as of now most of my partying in nyc has been shitty.

If its Trance you seek... check out Tsunami@Arc 8/16, Nu NRG@Arc 8/23, John 00 Fleming and Marco V 9/13... also they bring excellent progressive house acts like Sander Kleinenberg...

hahahhahhahahha, you must be a joke. That or you are starting to get pissed. lol, I love it.

Like I said, you don't have a damn clue how these places are going to turn out. But I am glad you are writing them all off based on on your 'secret' online articals that everyone has read before. But thatnks for your assurance that you won't be showing up at any of these places when they open up. Beause if there is anything as bad as as a juicer in A/X clothes, it's a skinny little computer geek who pretends to know everything, and thinks he is better than other people.

Wow way to make assumptions about me... At least my argument has some basis of truth to them. The article I posted is no secret it was in The Sun, so you can dump that theory.

I am hardly getting upset, I don't get upset at morons who try to argue without anything to back up what they are saying. At least what I say has substance. You think I go around criticizing things without having done my homework? I was really excited when I heard about these new places. I hoped for a return to a diversified scene in NYC. But what I have found are a bunch of ppl. opening up clubs for the same stupid reasons Exit and Sound Factory existed. Your only comeback is to make personal insults and assumptions. I would be willing to bet that the skinny computer geek theory you have for me apply's to you.

Do me a favor, go find out what is going on, come back and make a decent argument and stop personally flaming me. You don't know me, you don't really know how I think except for my thoughts on this subject, and you obviously don't know anything about these new venues. I know people deeply involved in the NY scene and I get A LOT of my info. from them as well. So stop with the ignorant bullshit.

um, 'secret' was sarcastic, because you apparently think that you're the only one who has read up on these new clubs.
Ignorant? Um, that would be you. My original post was very open-minded about these new clubs opening up, and your original reply was basically saying how these new clubs (which haven't even opened lol ) were already not up to par with YOUR standards. haha, again, you must be a joke. My original point is, and still is that you have no idea how these clubs are goign to turnout, in the slightest. But hey, keep on pretending you do. I am so very impressed with your vast knowledge of the future! It's truly amazing!

Posted by Zack Roth on Aug-08-2003 15:21:

and in regards to making a better argument...THERE IS NO ARGUMENT TO MAKE! You're trying to make an argument about the future. I simply have an open-minded outlook, and you're the one so staunchy defending your retarded notion about how these places are goign to be shit.
hey, here's an idea....why don't you just wait until they OPEN, and then make a decision about the place.

Actually I don't I just think YOU haven't read up on them... You can keep an open-mind, thats fine by me. I am just a realist and when I see things like "tarrot-card readers" and "we are trying to bring back hipsters, models, and art-types" I don't exactly jump up and down getting all excited. In fact, I have spoken at length about this subject elsewhere and we have all come to the same conclusion. You want to give them a try, go RIGHT on ahead, I'll probably give Avalon a try, sounds like something that might work. The other places simply give me a very bad feeling... I don't think they will be about the music, good vibes, and friendly atmosphere... Could I be wrong, sure I could. I tend to analyze things, and what I have said is my analysis, take it for what it is worth.

End of Rant...

This is is a few weeks old, but I am just reading this.

Exactly, you could be wrong, because no one knows how these places are going to turnout. I am hoping for the best, and I only see these new clubs as a good thing. More clubs = more options.

Yeah its been awhile, I have discussed this with a lot of people since then and the conclusion I have come too is that there is a good chance that what I said before will come to fruition, but there is also a good chance it may not. I wasn't very encouraged to find out Avalon will have a dress-code though... as well as Crobar... who knows maybe when they open and the suggestions roll in and stuff, they could loosen up and slowly those spots could get better and better... I'll tell ya what, Avalon has some kickass lineups already..

9/20 - Seb Fontaine and Dave Ralph
9/27 - Lee Burridge
10/3 - James Zabiela

Still need to hear more about Crobar but rumors have started again that they are out of money, so its possible the place may not even open.

Oh and in response to mets4012's question, there will be a new club called Crobar coming in the Fall. I'm not sure if it will be totally devoted to trance but nonetheless it will be worth checking out since I hear that the Crobar's in Florida and Chicago are pretty great. But yea I think its due time that there is a new club in the NYC scene.

i think i went to a crobar in chicago... didnt like it too much tho...
