if it were up to me, the chart would be totally different. but then again, itll never be anything remotely like my ranking just cuz this poll is basically a popularity ranking and nothing more. its just how well known the name is and not how much talent the DJ has.

*J'00'F - would def be in top 10 above armin & tiesto & pvd
*Harry Lemon a.k.a Lemon 8 - would be somewhere up there
*Nick Warren - deserves higher ranking esp b/c of GU024, he proved his status one again
*Jody Wisternoff - cant believe hes not up there at all
*Hybrid - def would be in top 20
*Nubreed - def deserves a slot in top 50
*Johan Gielen - deserves to be way higher too.
*Satoshi Tomiie - def top 20

Marco V, SHOKK, Marcel Woods, Scott Bond, Petrae Foy

Posted by noikeee on Aug-17-2003 19:23:

I'm gonna vote for something like

1. John '00' Fleming
2. Armin
3. Sasha
4. Marco V
5. Misja Helsloot

though i haven't heard sets from sasha and misja this year.. humm.. download limits suck

J00F is gonna go up A LOT. and he deserves it. probably not in top 10, but around there. I bet Tiesto or Armin gets it. Sasha & Diggers are kinda living from the past, probably they'll drop a bit. PvD is gonna stay there as usual.

expect Ferry to go down a lot, as he deserves it :/

i'd like to see pvd get #1 although i'm a true tiesto fan, but i doubt pvd will top tiesto. If pvd can top tiesto i think it will look like this..
PVD
Tiesto
Sasha
Armin
Digweed

Posted by Durafei on Aug-18-2003 00:34:

I'd be very surprised if Tiesto doesn't win this year.
Some reasons why I think Tiesto will be #1:

1) He is much better this year than last year.. So why would he drop ?
2) Concert.
3) Nyana - isn't that great, but still increased his popularity.
4) Tiesto DVD, same reason as Nyana
5) This is a popularity contest. Do you really think that there is a DJ out there right now who is more popular than Tiesto ?? Heck, even my mother knows Tiesto.. (though she continuously refers to him as DJ Siesto when she talks to me about my music interests)

Posted by AntronVee on Aug-18-2003 00:58:

i'm not quite sure what my list would look like, but i won't be shocked to see armin, ferry, tiesto and pvd all within close proximity of each other as well as the top of the list(deserving or not)

i definitely wanna see shokk, marcel woods, j00f, scott bond, jon o'bir and chirstopher lawrence(soooo underrated) somewhere on the list...

oh no .. the dj sanz i am talking about is wose than you think .. i am talking about a very bad asian breakbeat dj who cannot mix and cannot put together his own single song.

I don't know which order yet, but these are currently on my list.
- Lexicon Avenue, - Christopher Lawrence, - Paul Oakenfold, - Sasha
I still have to decide about a 5th one.

Posted by djtrancendance on Aug-18-2003 05:14:

I'm thinking,

1. Tiesto
2. Armin van Buuren
3. Johan Gielen (I hope, I think he deserves it)

Posted by TheLime on Aug-18-2003 06:06:

This would be great list..

1. Johan Gielen

1.- Paul Oakenfold
2.- Steve Lawler
3.- Sasha

Heres my top 5.
1) AVB
2) Tiesto
3) PVD
4) John 00 Fleming
5) Sasha or Ferry Corsten

Fleming is by far the most under rated DJ on the list. I also think Ferry has gained mad respect this year so it would be nice to see him move up within the top 5. Trance has deff. taken over 2003

Posted by m0sh on Aug-18-2003 09:38:

SANDER ALL THE WAY!!!

AMAZING MIXING !!!

Posted by danceaddict on Aug-18-2003 11:57:

Jonobir on #1 !!!

Posted by Johan (DJ Irish) on Aug-18-2003 13:58:

Isn't the DJ Mag Top 100 list always tilted towards brittish producers, with the occasional (and rare) european at the top spot being the exception to the rule?

Posted by AndskiSpeed on Aug-18-2003 14:12:

Gabriel and Dresden are 2 DJ's, so I doubt they'll be getting high up in the list. If you get what I mean.

Posted by bagguley on Aug-18-2003 18:05:

My aim is to break the Top 100 this year!!!!

With your help.....

if tiesto gets number one spot i will cry.

hes not the best in the world and i've heard jack shit about him this year. reviews from his set in glasgow all said he was average.

sasha and digweed can fuck off. seen them once and will never see them again. complete shite.

pvd imo will win it. should win it too. hes came back from being quite quiet over last year. he seems to be the more popular choice.

its my perception that most of those voting tiesto have probably made no concerted effort to keep up with reviews, live sets or even bothered seeing him more than once. i think people just vote for him because every one else is.

my vote will be going on mauro as usual but thats only cos he is my favourite dj. probably adam beyer or dj rush after that.

Dude, I went to mauro picotto @ space34 in miami a couple of weeks ago. Quite disapointed to say the least. It sounded like he wasnt intrested in mixing.

Tiesto is by far the most overrated DJ in the world...if he wins the best DJ it'll be a travesty...at least PVD has had some amazing sets this year to go for his credit

Sasha Digweed...*SNORE*

my prediction
1.PVD
2.Armin van buuren
3.john 00 fleming
4.DJ Tiesto (just cuz he's Tiesto )
5. ferry corsten

wow, hard to believe that no one has really mentioned Harry Lemon. He deserves to make this list more than anyone IMO. I don't listen to much progressive house, except if Harry Lemon is spinning. I will definitely be voting Tiesto #1 again this year. (Trust me he earned it) as for the order the reat of the order, I'm not even decided yet. Obviously AVB, and PVD will make the top 10, but i hope Sasha and Digweed both fall out of top 10, cuz their sets are...boring!
