King

Sorry to bring this thread back to life......... but I just got my copy in mail and all I can say is

WOW!!!!!!!!!

Insane at the least. I just wished I would have ordered it earlier!!!

Posted by Redd on Feb-07-2004 12:27:

And sorry to bring it back once again, but these CD's are my best music buy for a long time. CD1 is by far the best compilation I've heard all 2003/2004. Petter - All Together, what a tune! Anyone know if this has been released or is going to be?

None above, none equal; JAMES HOLDEN

I am not worthy!

The excellent reviews this got from you guys combined with the fact that this is a James Holden compilation prompted me to buy this... I was blown away! IT just arrived in the mail yesterday with 4 other CDs but i havent even listened to the others yet im so hooked on this one. I prefer CD1 over CD2 i think, with highlights being Petter - All Together and Jase from Outta Space - Do What you Want and Nathan Fake - Outhouse. I havent heard a prog mix this interesting or original since.. well Sasha & Digweed's Northern exposure comes to mind. And that is HIGH HIGH praise.

Bottom line: BUY BUY BUY!!!!!! Support James, he's taking electronica to new heights.

Hmmmmmmmm, hate to bring this up but my friend bought a UK copy of
this (not a promo) way before Christmas in our local HMV. The UK
distributor is Intergroove but now if you try to order it anywhere
in the UK it comes back as "out of stock" which leads me to believe
it is (a) about to get a second "pressing" or (b) it's been pulled
and is getting re-released. If anyone out there has some definite
info I wanna know coz I HAVE to own the original of this awesome cd !

Has anyone caught James performing in the UK recently when doing the
live P.A with Julie Thompson ? Wish I had ... goddamit

This is the sort of music that touches your soul. If you can't hear that, your not listening. Simple as that.

Posted by Prism on Mar-23-2004 07:27:

Absolutely! This album opened the door to many new progressive sounds as well as helped me understand better what James Holden is about.

Posted by REL on Mar-30-2004 22:32:

I have to say something about this album as well. I got this about a month ago and they are the only CDs that matter in my collection. I listen to CD1 more than 2, but both are so good I really don't have the words to justify how good it is.

You Are Sleeping and Leaving You Behind are easily my favorite tracks...

Holden has pulled me into the world of progressive muzik

Totally insane... Waiting for 006... i'm afraid...

Posted by digitally404 on Apr-22-2004 07:38:

I've purchased this album and here's my $0.02.
First off, I'd like to get the fact out of the way that this is the best album i have heard in a long long time...

IMO, Both of the CDs start off VERRY good, i love the basslines, wow. Someone said that the mixing isn't good? I can barely notice a transition between tracks. Phenomenol mixing.

I also liked how i didn't really know too many of the tracks, kept me interested.

Fave tracks of mine are from : FortDax, PQM, Hermann & Klein, Jase From Outta Space feat. Clair, The MFA, Meta.83, Jake Fairly (!!), Nathan Fake, .... Well, that's CD1, so fuck, i'm not about to name every track, CD2's best tracks are the first 5, along with epsilon 9 and gill norris.

Posted by Synchronized on Apr-23-2004 07:27:

All together by Petter = Its the best song on the first cd..
