ATRC,
Crush,
and I believe one other..

I think that the whole concept of the outdoor event, the lasers off of the trees was amazing. It almost had a Forest-Rave vibe. If I were to base it solely on the music, I would say it wasn't that great. But when I factor in the entire night as a whole, it was fantastic. I hope Made Events does some more of these next summer...

For those TA's I met at Summerstage and at Vic's Loft, ya'll are some cool kids. Lets do it again sometime.

P.S. Whoever was chanting GLow.... SHUT THE FUCK UP! Don't bring that shit up in NYC...

which one were you? i was in the red pvd shirt

you kidding me? there was a massive crowd dancing the whole time. And pvd always comes to nyc.

I thought it was great! Since most of us have seen pvd in a club, it was nice to hear him in another atmosphere other than a club. Nice to see the fellow TAs. All in all a great night

Smiley DJ

Digital Pressure - Aftershokk. I love this song, tha crowd went nuts when he played this and crush What a great night.

Posted by Lost Inhibition on Aug-29-2003 08:21:

Thumbs up

got home about an hour ago.... one word: OMFG!!! hahahah lmao jk but seriously it was great

Pro's : Paul Van Dyk played For an Angel, Dreamland, ATRC, Crush, Sunrise(W00T he used the Pulser remix!!), Time Of Our Lives, For a Revolt, Empire, Aftershokk, ahh soo many good tunes!!!

Lasers =

i havent seen a good light show in ages......

the crowd was just awesome. most people at the beginning were alittle rowdy when that announcer didnt stop talking and some even boo'd when the record skipped. talk about mood killer... but he recovered nicely witha few tunes. he started off slow with a few prog tunes before dropping ATRC <3
from there his set was sporatic, jumping from different styles with no real definative flow in sound... but at the end he was just awesome and from what i heard it completely came together. and yes the smell of weed was apparent....
overall when the sun went down, the crowd jumped and went bananas...

Con's: The stupid floor we were all dancing on had a green mesh thing over it.... totally not cool as it was very hard to dance well on that. but not like their was space to move around either.

Sound system wasnt great, but hey its central park, what do you expect? lol

too many people not dancing... the guido's seemed more active than them..

i didnt stay long enough so i ended up missing his last tunes.... (stupid chinatown bus line )

Grade: B overall but an A+ simply because ive never seen PvD live for that long unless it was a recording. One of the most memorable nights ive ever had

i am So dead.. wow.. i just got in from london last night, i am totally messed up time wise!

ugh, im in love with this man!!!!

i couldnt Wait to hear Crush-- during the first or second song he played, i was already SCREAMING "I KNOW YOU WANT MEEE!!!!" hahahha i'm a nut, i kno (& dat's why i call myself lunasea hehe)

i requested starchaser - falling star and he played it.. then, after pvd played for a revolt vs for an angel, i requested for an angel e-werk remix an he played it.. i think he likes me heeheehee

man.. that magenta song, it's called twisted soul.. is Awesome!!!! he played that as well.. it's the collab. between hemstock & jennings and matt hardwick.. choon!!! and he also played Nu NRG - Connective..!!

one of the dudes from Second Sun was in the pit between the stage and the crowd dancing his cute lil ass off hehe! he looked like a pvd cheerleader antoine i think? i forgot his name.. arturo knows it..

THERE WERE a few people missing.. namely ARTURO!!!!!! DJ CUBANO!!!!! PORKY!!!!! ZEWAD!!!!!!! you all were very much missed.. WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!!! and wish u were there..

yo, they had fucking awesome veggie burgers in those stands.. hehehhe! num num!!

ugh, what can i say.. this is Such a memorable moment.. im not entirely sure but i don't think a huge EDM dj has ever played in central park before.. this was totally a friggin landmark event!! i'm def. gonna write up a killer review on this for t.nu...

jus got back from vics afteparty and all that

overall pvd's set was mediocre at best, almost dissapointing imho, repeating tracks more than once gets a bit annoying, you would think some1 like pvd gets loads and loads of records sent to him a day to play out instead of repeating tracks twice and soemtimes even 3-4times. but whatever. the other track he repeated twice that no1 mentioned is jaron inc - overflow. why did he repeat motorcycle twicwe, that tracks overplayed as it is, yet he drops it not once but twice goddman. and one thing he hasta retire now is nothing but you, i used to love that track but since he plays it 2 times + everytimes hes in nyc i just cant stand it anymore but whatever. good seeing all the regulars and the newbies, you guys know who you are

Posted by sival on Aug-29-2003 12:40:

King

i wasnt going to go either but bought my tix last minute and im glad i did! the event got better as the night went on. i guess some people aren't used to dancing outdoors in the sun. playing 'time of our lives' really did it for me, especially it being the 2nd to last song he played. cant wait for november!

when i was entering the gate, security was giving people with flyers in their bags a hard time. "i dont wanna see these all over the ground later" "oh no problem" later, the park is littered with party flyers haha.

ronin: i think the first mix was the vandit club mix. i could be wrong.

Posted by lil lizzy on Aug-29-2003 13:01:

PVD will be back in november, it was announced at the end of the night

Posted by sandstorm03 on Aug-29-2003 13:02:

tom got a tracklist with about 95% of the tunes...and in order...im guessing he'll post it soon...

I also took abunch of pics/movies...about 900 seconds worth...so ill set up links 4 thoes...

i had a lot of fun...but i think ill kill someone if i hear ATRC or NBY again!!! im pissed that nby is #6 on reflections, im gonna have to do a lot of skipping

LOL!!!!!!!!!

Pvd Anytime @ twilo

Pvd Anytime anywhere was better then last night man. He tried to start off progressivly but went into the trance to fast. I liked alot of the songs he played but most of them were just thrown in there. I felt like his last hour was the best out of all of it. At times it sounded like a Ktu pre party to the vma's

Note to paul Play harder next time ! No one was dancing until he got hard with his set.

Posted by pyro264jb on Aug-29-2003 13:19:

Song's that owned me

twisted soul
Connective
Dreamland
Overflow

Posted by sandstorm03 on Aug-29-2003 13:37:

OMFG...my fav 4 tracks that he played were dreamland, traffic, and 2 songs i never heard before...i will get mp3 samples soon but one was played right after massive, and one right after dreamland...any guesses?..they were hard banging tracks...possibly something bye matt hardwick?

I am surprised nobody noticed that pvd was using final scratch!

someone should've stolen his apple laptop...keys to the castle anyone...

I'm surprise nobody caught Jose amnesia- the eternal

Posted by NYCTrancefan on Aug-29-2003 16:07:

hey pyro sounds like Ktu, naw, that is a slap in the face to PVD man. Ktu is pathetic. I call it bubble gum crap music. Anyway enough about KTU. PVD did repeat some tracks and I have heard better sets and didn't hear some songs I wanted but it wasn't about me now was it. Still made the most of it. Besides with so many pretty girls around and the ecstacy of the trance vocals I could have been anywhere and had a good time.

i noticed both

..didn't notice you were there tho..

Posted by Tranz on Aug-29-2003 16:33:

Paul wasn't using Final Scratch, he was downloading music off the hub.

Anyways... overall, I thought the Centrqal Park event was cool. It was nice to be outside, with the perfect weather, and have Paul spin for 4 hours. The crowd was a nice mix, not too many meatheads or crackheads, although I almost stepped on some crackheads lying down. The only disppointing aspect was Paul's set. He didn't build up the set at all, and playing the same tracks twice was a bit lame. He also had some sloppy blends in between songs. I think he tried to start with a more laid back summer approach, but he seemed to react to the restlessness of the crowd, so he threw in some of his own productions. The sound seemed to be turned down for some reason, and that didn't help either. I still think it was a success, and I'd like to see an all day party there, with more DJ's.

Hello!

Hmm a lot of mixed reviews. I personally had a fabulous time! I really enjoyed his set. Not much dancing room but I wasn't complaining. Highlights of the night for me were, James Holden - Nothing, Airwave - Breathing, PVD - Nothing But You, Raphie B - Massive, Blackeight - The Silence!!! WOOHOO!

Great meeting the new Ta's, Vlad, Sandstorm, and Indy! and always great seeing Alex, Tom, Lisa, Rick, Daniella, Brianna, Jay, Jonathan, Chris, Matt, Freeza!, Nube, Shannon, Brian, Teddy, Ian, and last but definitely not least, John! My friend Anastasia really enjoyed meeting all of you! She says hello!

when did he play this? i was kinda upset cause tom and i made a sign with chris' poster that said "ETERNAL DATT" and he made a facial expression like he was going to play it, but never did. did he play eternal in the beginning? i got there a half hour late due to traffic.

besides that, i had an excellent time. i am the biggest ass, though. i was up in the front the whole time, and i brought my camera to take pics/videos but i left the fucking battery at home :\. the lasers were absolutely sick, i've never seen anything like those before. i must say the crowd there was way better than any crowd at the roxy/arc.

fav track of the night = terry bones vs fred baker - introspection (john askew mix) <--why does he always have to mix out of that so early?
worst track of the night = dj tiesto - traffic

OMG, did anyone see antoine from second sun bouncing around in the front like a little fairy? he was constantly trying to hype up the crowd. some girl even tried to grab him and kiss him and he was trying to pull away (i think we all know why). he was cool though.

anyways overall it was a great night, and of course once again it was lovely seeing all the ta's. i hope that there will be another event like this next summer, if not sooner.

one last thing; I'M SICK OF NOTHING BUT YOU

Posted by Russian Crush on Aug-29-2003 16:58:

is Shelsh0ck the guy that came in to sbarros with bri? its so great finally meating so many TAs, Bri, Daniela, Lee, Sirroco and his friend, Mike, Vlad. there were more that i didnt get, you guys rock, though throughout the concert i didnt see you the ride in Lees car was awesome, i cant believe you guys complain about the sound not being loud enough, after the concert i was half freakin deaf and plus couldnt feel my legs. there was some major tracks in PVD set that i dont even know but i definately loved the night.

Posted by notwork2600 on Aug-29-2003 17:15:

Be Cool!

WOW!! What an awsome night.....i was planning on going to the goose meetup at 5, but i couldn't make it, so me and my friends just went right to summerstage..we were in hte back for a bit until we found you ta's up front, and then joined up...totally loved PVD's track selection......WAVY GRAVY rocked! very unsuspected and totally kciked ass. loved nothing but you, time of our lives, as the rush comes....it was just a solid selection...if you couldnt see me i was in my camoflauge vandit tshirt! :P LASERS ROCKED!@ and if you looked backwards, you could see the images they were projecting on the trees - it was fuckin awesome. me and my friends took the beechball in our hands, and then some mafia dude came up from behind us with a knife and stabbed it like 10 times...interesting...but fun nonetheless! sound system coulda been a bit better i think, but it is outdoor....overall the entire show rocked. you can see my pix on my site... http://24.46.31.28:82/Gallery/albums.php check out the pics and the videos!

Posted by DR86 on Aug-29-2003 17:32:

Now that i'm fully awake...

Fuckin awesome to finally meet a part of the TA's. I had such a great time. This being my first EDM event, and the only one until i turn 18 (1 year 2 months to go! ) i was spazing out. Crazy night.
