Is Sun and BLT goa?

No fucking way, SUN Project is a German band combined by a guitarist, a drummer and the guy who plays the synth, they came to perform in Israel at May, 15000 people filled the place and man... it was one fucking psy trance party, 'till darude came and messed it all up, you can read everything about this party at the Parties pages in these forum
but my post is kinda old so you'll have to look for it.

Anyway, BLT and SUN Project are Psy trance bands, SUN Project sometimes slides to the Tech House field but at least they know to come back from it and snap out of it!

You should check out their tunes:
Sex, Drugs and Acid Trance
The Awakening
Subsonic Overdrive - Amazing!
T8 - Awsome effects - thats more like Tech house...
and last but not least, "Computer" - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
An amazing creation that will spin you head like it wasn't attached to the rest of your body!

yet another thread about commercialism...lol

Posted by on Jun-30-2001 10:08:

I hate commercial trance, always hated commercial trance, I don't know what people find in those tunes, take out the really good band with really good tunes... there are some exlusives.

Posted by theeyesofdarkness on Jun-30-2001 10:41:

lol sugah umm well im not going to read everything here but your psy/goa producers and djs are the one fucking it up for your scene by conforming.. if they would be leaders they would realize they have fans that will follow.. seems that they are commercial to change w/ the scene and not stick to what they believe in and luv.. selling out.. thats one thing that would get someone the commercial title. u dont have to conform. stand up for what u believe in if it really means that much to u.. and that will make a statement in itself. u said that u are "having" to conform.. well that means u are in it for the money too then or u would refuse to play something u disagree with. but no u sell out. your scene is dying because u are lacking the leaders needed to keep the scene alive. peace!!

Posted by patticus on Jun-30-2001 11:15:

um, you said "push, dumonde, and chat"

wtf is chat?
do you mean chab? because i dont think they're commercial at all

although i see what you mean about dumonde and push, its simply anthemic trance..

Posted by on Jun-30-2001 11:19:

Oops, I ment Chac
not Chab...
CHAC

Posted by on Jul-01-2001 16:43:

Anyway, I've found a great way to get Psytrance loaded in parties...
I just add some psy tunes at the end of each set of mine... like the one i'm going to post online when i'll have enough webspace, by the way, anyone knows a website that will host my mix? (about 80mb or 90mb)

It's a Live mix from "Dead Sea's Rave 2001" in Israel.

I definitely agree with what skywarp and Gil said, dumonde, push, atb, pvd (sorry guys), tiesto is all mainstream trance...The uplifting sound faded away in popularity a little while ago. Not commercial mind you, but in the electronic music community outside of trance capitals like the netherlands and germany it is frowned upon heavily. Basically with that type of music, no skill is required to spin a really good set, only basic beat matching and a good head for track selection. The more underground genres are staying true to the trance scene, the psy-goa stuff and the deeper-techy-tribal stuff is pushing the sound to new limits that have never been heard before. Mainstream is just beating the same old bush, same uplifting types of melody, very static (unchanging, not literally staticty), crazy buildups, female vocals...most if not all has been done before. I'm not crazy about psy, but I respect it a great deal. So I'll definitely have to agree, while I won't turn my back on this style 100%, because I still dig the mainstream stuff once in a while just for it's fun factor.

peace

I guess your kinda right about Dumonde, Push are kinda cheesey BUT only if u consider their BIG tracks

I listen to Psy/goa trance but i also like the uplifting stuff

Posted by patticus on Jul-03-2001 20:33:

havok: "Basically with that type of music, no skill is required to spin a really good set, only basic beat matching and a good head for track selection"

what's the difference if you're spinning uplifting trance or prog trance or house, or any kind of house for that matter?
you could throw deep house tribal house, funky house and hard house under that generalization.

so in that case all forms of house music are mainstream?

the only ones which are different in your case are psy-trance, goa, and (i hope for your sake) d&b, which i love anyways.

just thinking that its kind of a weak argument, even in its truth

If you think that spinning Psytrance and/or Goa Trance is just to adjust the beats, than I don't know what kind of lame ass DJ you are, DUH!!!

Posted by torontotrance on Jul-05-2001 15:47:

Smile

psy trance and goa trance will not come back. Dream all you want. btw your an idiot

Posted by on Jul-05-2001 15:50:

Hey Torontotrance, Up yours man, Psy trance is acually on its way to the comback, alot of new Psy trance bands are building up for THE rave, and what you, the epic and uplifting trance people, call Rave... is just a "Gathering" near Psy trance raves and EVERYONE knows that!

Nothing beats the Psy trance raves!!!!

Thats why Rave sounds like psy trance.

i dunno if you can read english properly, if you're just being stupid to make an argument. this is what i said.

original argument: "Basically with that type of music, no skill is required to spin a really good set, only basic beat matching and a good head for track selection"

MY RESPONSE: what's the difference if you're spinning uplifting trance or prog trance or house, or any kind of house for that matter?

if that's still hard for you to understand, i'll make it simple for your sorry ass. i said those genres were DIFFERENT, as in NOT like those other forms of music you can only beatmatch. why did you think i threw drum & bass in there? i may be a lame ass dj, but at least i can read properly.

If anybody is being a jerk, it is you. First, you misquote Patticus, then don't bother to apologize, and you call him a stupid wanker.

Who's being stupid here? YOU.

I just got back here, I didn't see his reply so back off!

Posted by krusader on Jul-06-2001 17:15:

hey gil,
what exactly is your point? you come to a messageboard where the majority of ppl are into uplifting/epic/progressive trance and badmouth it... and then you badmouth all the kids who goto parties for liking it? im sorry dude... but maybe you need to realize that its the KIDS who goto parties... not a bunch of fucking 40 year olds who miss the "good ole days" when psy trance was big... and if you dont love the music that you spin, then you should stop spinning... because ppl who always spin what they dont love end up becoming the biggest commercial hacks around

Posted by Durafei on Jul-06-2001 18:21:

A question first.. How can a track be commercial in one country and not commercial in the other??? Just because a track is popular doesn't mean it is commercial. Commercial track is produced with the purpose of making money by selling that track. To me Commercial is a track that is made using the same old formula and promoted like crazy.

Reading this topic, I'm under the impression think that people think that whatever is popular is commercial. Sorry, but that just isn't true.
Nobody was promoting PVD-For an angel track, yet it is one of the most popular Trance tunes of all times.. Does it make it commercial? No !

In any case, I was listening to a lot of GOA stuff for a while, but
then I switched to uplifting trance. Why ?? Because I like it more !

Just because you don't like certain music style don't call it crap. Respect other people's opinion. Wasn't RESPECT the main motto of all GOA parties??? Or did you just happen to forget that?

I'm just saying the way it is. So what if you just got back here? You were the one who started the name calling. You incessantly react negatively to others' comments. You can barely form good defensive arguments when you're pricked.

What you say here tells others alot about you. Frankly, you got too much attitude. When you're like that, it's hard for people to respect your side of the story.

Durafei, commercial is an overly misused term to describe a popular Trance tunes. The misuse is subjective and nothing more. Commercial to me is the endless supply of songs played on mainstream radios and music TVs on a world-wide scale like country; pop; r&b; etc al.. That is the definition of commercialization.

Posted by on Jul-06-2001 23:12:

Just for your information, I didn't start the name calling, there are some people here who doesn't like it when other dudes have a diffrent opinion so they start name calling them (in that case its me...).
and what can I say? it pisses me off so I prick.

It doesn't sais anything about me to the other people here because this is cyber, i'm very diffrent in real life and you can ask people who met me and are also using this forum...

Its just that i've mentioned a subject that I admit, wasn't too popular to others, I know that most of the people here are Epic, Uplifting Trance fans but so what?
i'm allowed to express my personal opinion, I just wanted to know how you people feel about it and I guess I got the answer right here in this thread...

Thats why I produce mostly Epic and Uplifting trance... because thats what the public like, I can't force them to like Psytrance but I have to tell you that when I close my sets with 20 - 30 minutes of Psytrance, I don't see people leave the dancefloor, I only see more people on the dancefloor witch means that people like Psytrance!

This is my latest Epic Trance release, check it out, tell me what you think about it...
