Even MORE ppl came in and started to dance to jungle! My friend Matthew, DeepGroove and I were like ![]() ![]() Talk about strange ... |
porter was good, i liked the stuff he played a lot, he really has a unique sound going, but it felt too much like a warmup set and nothing like the hard killer set i was expecting from him... i'm sure MV remedied that though... anyways, i left early on, around 2am i think...
Pardon my ignorance, but who the hell is MV ?

Ilya, yes MV is Martin Villeneuve, he's from Ottawa and used to work the Atomic saturday nights (while Max Graham did the fridays) back in the day.
Since then he's been signed to Yoshitoshi and has mixed "In House We Trust 2" alongside Behrouz. I've never heard it personally.
He's better known as Envy (his production guise) by which he has two tracks on the Deep Dish Moscow Global Underground.
That's a bit better, I don't think he's dj'ed in Ottawa in like 5 years.
Well we got the place rockin from 12-3. By the time I finished my set, the dance floor was PACKED and the crowd was peakin! I had a blast playing for you guys. Everyone seemed to be in really high spirits and I was really happy to be playing at System. I hope the opportunity comes up again. Anyways, since nobody's said anything yet, I wanna give some props to the Fresh Crew, Vidman, and other people that came out to support us. Also BIG PROPS to the other DJs that really made the VIP room an awesome place to be: Derek Mueller, Dennis Hahn, Steven Tremmor, and Jace. I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and playing some killer beats!
Anyways, until next time, PEACE!!

damn, i missed steve porter,i thought he is playing next week
Terrific time on Friday night, thanks Alex and Jon for having us in.
And thanks to the K-W crew that came and represented; too many names to mention but you know who you are.
That's a neat little room, good flavour to it and the vibe in there was great. Dancefloor was rockin' from 12-3 (and by the sounds of it, 3-5 too) way to show 'em what a VIP Room is REALLY all about peeps! I didn't expect such enthusiasm, I was going to play a lot more of a chill set but with all the nutters jumping up and down I just couldn't hold back. Even though the headliner was in the next room we still rammed it; you all rocked!
I look forward to returning soon! Hopefully I'll get to meet some more of you TA's next time!
Cheers!
Dennis

| Originally posted by ShAwZy Ya I remember you leaving and saying you were gonna be back! Anyways you missed the better half of Porters set man! I agree the first half of the set was like a "Warm-Up" for Porter. I have seen him absolutley tear it up before and in my opinion he didn't do so until the last hour. Weird transition to MV as the two styles clash and Marty should have opened and Porter should have closed. Oh well none-the-less it was a very fun night (and weekend). |
