Even though I think Ferry was better in the "old days" I give him my vote. He's still the number one producer in my books.

| Originally posted by DJDigDug Tiesto, he uses more than one synthesizer. 90% of ferry songs are so predictable after a while, yawn. Tiesto is so much more rounded, and for anyone who thinks ferry holds a flame, from what ive seen his main defence is stuff done with armin, if you want to get into collaborations Kamaya painters alone is enough to shut down pretty much all his works, in addition tiesto does quite a few more sets than ferry, he expiriments more and just delivers better sets, ferry i will credit, he has some upstanding toons, but he doesnt really compare to tiesto, |
Tiesto or Ferry?
I'm pretty new to the trance seen, but I've been lucky enough to have seen both of these incredible DJ's live: Ferry Corsten and DJ Tiesto at the Guverment in Toronto, and Ferry again at Velfarre in Tokyo. It's the time I saw Ferry at Velfarre that sets him in first place for me. It was the release party for Ferry's album 'Together' (was that a Japan only release?) and I expected him to come and take to the decks as usual. But he didn't. He came out onto the stage with no records at all. What he did have though, was a whole range of samplers, keyboards, a couple of laptops, and a live string quartet. And he 'produced' the tracks live himself. He was only on stage for maybe 30 minutes ot most, by the end of which he was dripping with sweat. He played all the melodic lines on the keyboards. He mixed and sampled all the beats in real-time. And the highlight for me was when Ligaya (Gouryella) happened, and the strings were performed by the live string quartet. It was rapture!
I don't know if this kind of DJing/performance is a standard thing or not, but for me it was the idea that trance music could also be 'performed' as well as 'spun' was very inspiring. Thank you Ferry!
of course Ferry and his System F style...i like it at all
...Tiestos Allure too but...
i would like to say Ferry is for me better than Tiesto...
close close call, probably ferry just swayed with his productions
when I heard FC - Live at Innercity 1999 (best set ever to be recorded by humankind) for the first time I thought to my self "holy shit this guy is incredible"..and from that moment he has been my favourite...and he will be my favourite for the rest of my life
GO FERRY!!
Tisto. Definetely.
tiesto corsten is nothing special anymore i used to love him
Tiesto for now but I think this will gonna change next year. Ferry is on fire lately but the main thing is can he keep on doing this.

Ferry is open to changes, Tiesto ain't...
tiesto is more my style..... #1 right there...
I'm pretty new to this trance scene as well.
But when I first heard some of Tisto's stuff, it didn't get my attention right off the bat compared to Ferry.
So far I've heard a couple of songs from both Tisto and Ferry and both are good IMO, but my vote goes to Ferry.
Hard choise. I voted Tisto, because I think his performances are better than the ones I've seen Ferry give. Eventhough Ferry is very good IMHO
I've heard more Tiesto's sets than Ferry's sets and also I saw Tiesto in live but nowadays I prefer Ferry's music. I like his style, producing and djing.
Tiesto!!!!!!!!!!!

tiesto!
anyone who's been to my apartment can probably tell who i voted for by the huge framed tiesto promo poster with his autograph and a smiley face on it
my fiance's also got a signed cover for her nyana cd
my vote might be a little biased but i'm still a big ferry corsten fan too
the holy trinity:
1. pvd
2. tiesto
3. ferry & avb (i had to throw em both in as #3 in order to make it a trinity)
.... Ferry ....
Tiesto is a better dj and producer in my mind. Ferry couldn't mix if his life depended on it.
peace
whitey
Ferry all the way. Have you ever seen people go off the way they do when 'Punk' or 'Rock you Body Rock' is played? Especially Punk it's a goo 2 years old and people still go off.
I voted Tiesto.

Ferry. As a producer i can say that he is a lot better than Tisto and his constant change of styles are excelent (just hear from Moonman - Galaxia to Ferry Corsten - Punk and the System-F stuff just keeps getting better).
As a dj he plays a lot of uplifting/melodic stuff unlike Tisto which right now is playing tech-trance.
a year ago, i would have said tiesto. but these days i continue to get wowed by ferry, both production-wise and for DJing. plus i'm seeing him on NYE. so ferry it is
The new Tiesto is just about dropping the top trance hits...
