i think you only have to read some of the responses in this thread to see why sometimes people feel a little more comfortable being around their "own" so to speak at times....and wanting to be around other people that share a common interest for whatever reason has NOTHING to do with segregation...

and vivid boy to answer your question it's not always obvious to tell who is gay and who isn't...just by looking at your pic i would have taken you for a raging flamer but by your comments it's obvious you're not...so no, we're not easily spotted...

like charmscars said, if you hang out in certain places, chances are they are gay...many clubs even have a little informal "area" where the boys seem to regularly gather.

At parties with mostly straight people, it's pretty hard unless the other person is more obviously gay. Eventually, if a guy is cool, and I get any kind of gay vibe (don't ask...instinct, lol), I might politely ask if their straight or gay (or even in a roundabout way by asking about a gf, or who they're here with, where they hang out, etc). I wouldn't ask if I wasn't reasonably sure that the other person wouldn't freak out...then again, I'm not exactly little, so I don't worry about myself, but I'd like to avoid a potential "scene".

now...e complicates things...cause everyone is so happy and friendly...so yeah, it's VERY hard at parties. But I don't go looking to pick up anyway...I go to have fun, listen/dance to good music, maybe meet some cool people, etc. Meeting another gay guy would just be a bonus, I guess.

People don't understand. I feel uncomfortable because im gay and to straight people thats either an novelty or a sin. As one boy posted/pointed out here. I personally laugh at straight boys when im out because i feel so bad for women who have to put up with drunken losers going up to them and spitting and getting up on them in their face.

In the gay scene people like to dress up, matchlol, have fun and be as gay or straight acting as they want to be. But in a straight bar you guys have this mentality that is like so brutal and sad. I dont know, ive been with women and i used to be "straight" and the club sence sucks to me...because you can never be who u want to be. And although most of the gay scene is very intimidating, i can go out every weekend and be who i want to be...go regression to something im not.

Vivid Boy, umm...how come women like men? Did u ever think of that and curves are gross...its all a matter of accepting that people might not think or are attracted to the same thing you are. So why would u diss someone because they arent you. And until youre a Black Lesbian Women you will never understand, or a minority for that matter. Youre a white, straight male...think about it. Open your mind and realize the whole world isnt white, or straight or male...

Last of all, chrismack, in the gay scene where do u go in toronto?

Confused WHAAAAAAATTTEVER!!!!!

i dont see the big deal, i can understand some people dont like gay people, some do, if you dont like the sex part just ignore that, but accept them as regular human beings, whatever their sexual prefrence is.!!!

Sexual preference does not make a person diffrent. i have a freinds friend who is gay, he digs brown guys and even asked my friend if i was single. i told him i aint gay!

anyhoo, if i was gay i would form my own alliance.lol
BUT I AM VERY MUCH STRAIGHT, but i will try and adjust to gay people, some guys get very curious from my childhood experience.

Curiosty kills the rat..lol or something along those lines.

any how i accept chris for what he is, not as any diffrent from any other TA.

Like i have prefence in music and food , it doesnt make me want to throw up if i see other food or listen to other music i just adjust to it...other wise i turn it off.

well not including u and me, most brown guys are gay. if they can dance together while humping on one another, and if they tell the women to get the fuk off the dance floor, i call that absolutely GAY.

Jester

Ok........ Some peoples replies/opinions are really pig headed and rediculous... If you have nothing good to say then get the hell out of the thread... It wasn't made so you can comment and prove the point that we gay men/women are not really accepted by most "str8" people..

I think that it was a cool idea starting this thread... I often look out for other gay guys at clubs (str8 or gay clubs).. Just because it's fun... And yes I always laugh at str8 men... Most dont know how to dance and its so funny... No offence to any str8 good dancin guy that reads this...
I myself prefer going to "str8" clubs.... It's so much fun..

Yo Broad when are we going out to the club?? <----- She's the best to go to a club with... Both of us check out the hot guys... lol (specially that hot ass dancer)lol........

But i'm not very likely to hang out with anyone at parties... No matter if they are gay/str8/bi or whatever.... I'm usually to busy dancin, cause thats really what I go to do... LOVE FOR THE MUSIC..Thats all that matters to me...

that's so clever! i don't think i've ever heard that little rhyme before

the imagery when i read someone write that is always a big fat red neck w/ stains on his wifebeater or a quasi-retarded gino who can't enunciate.

Ya... I'd be interested to know what other biblical references you tend to use to live your life.

I personally like the ones that say it's Ok to make people slaves as long as they aren't from your own country (Deuteronomy), or the one that says women who are raped must agree to marry their rapist or be stoned to death (Leviticus), or the always popular one that says that if you find any mould in your house you need to take it to a priest so he can pray over it for 3 days (also Leviticus)(I guess lysol wasn't invented yet). Yup, there are all kinds of gems in the bible.

Nice to see you live such a holy life though. I'm sure God is most impressed.

Seriously. Why do people choose to ignore so much int eh bible, but get all caught up on two or three lines - and use them over and over again as a justification for their actions/thoughts.

my justifications or thoughts??? u have no fuckin clue man.. i dont live by any fuckin bible..i lost my faith in god when i lost 3 of my best friends... dont give me none of this shit..i was just fooling around just trying to give u an idea of what type of old school family i grew up in...im sure they wouldnt care if i grew up to be gay but they wouldnt be too proud of it... but thats their views... and only their views..all im saying is that im split thru the whole fuckin situation because im very americanized and ive come to accept the issue and not judge ppl because of their sexuality.. but at the same time ive been brought up in an old school mannor and not that i dont see it right but i just think of it as weird...hell i have a friend in highschool who came out the closet after we graduated...i still treat him the same fuckin way i still respect the guy but at the same time i dont want to hear him talk about it or act upon it when im around...

CM's point was that sometimes you need to take a close look at what is informing your views and beliefs.

my advice to you is to keep and open mind.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Sep-22-2003 21:15:

i do keep an open mind...thats one thing u can say abt me..that accept anyone as they are..im not racist prejudice or anything... i have family like uncles and even my father who are sometimes very prejudice and it pissess me right the fuck off..ive been into fist fights with my father over it...but then again my dad isnt really racist he hates everyone equally even his own nationality...actually im a bit racist of cab drivers...i hate cab drivers fuckin bastads hate them all
