About sigs, only mods have the ability to edit sigs, unless it is your own signature then of course you can edit it. Anyway, we now have a measure in place to keep people from editing sigs for no reason. If your sig is edited, most of the time, it is offensive or too big and then you have to change it. If you feel your sig has been edited unjustly, pm swamper about it.
Now about erin's little comment. We try our best to keep threads bashing other countries out of the forums. Cept when people bash their own countries for valid reasons, like Canada and the idiotic prime minister we have.
It was not a ukta mod, I'm sure of that. Just move on with life

I urge any TAs (other than Joe) who feel they have a problem with me to please PM me and we'll work things out privately (and I'll give you my msn).
Thanks,
David

As Nik said, in the amatuar producers forum, there are one or two mods who produce/post, but i'd be shocked if the other three had posted once (in the amatuar forum) in the last 6 months. I think that is a problem, as an active poster in that specific forum would be a far batter choice than someone who has no intrest whatsoever in ta's amatuar producers/never reads the forum... |
I agree with neo about 99% of forums having someone to mod them. We all try our best, even being on different time zones. It works quite well in some circumstances.
I would really like to put a stop to these stupid "pics or stfu" posts. I mean i'm sure some of you remember the girl who came on and asked a question about what DJ's do u find attractive. Instead of an answer, she got the "omg.. a girl on TA?!?!?! pics of stfu!" To my knowledge, she never came back.
Now take THIS thread for example. The guy wants some serious help. But what does he get:

I agree with mike in a way. some people just write to much shit. I don't care if it is in chill out, but in other forums...
and one more thing... about chill out again, you shouldn't close so many threads... after all it's chill out
I think chill-out should have less moderation on it b/c after all, it is chill-out... It may be stupid when ppl but I don't really think it causes any harm done in anything... As for new ppl being scared off... the majority of new ppl signing up for TA forums have already lurked around for at least a while so I think it's safe to say that they understand and have some knowledge of what goes on in chill-out
Here are several ideas that I have that I think could help:
Production Studio:
put a sticky thread for newbies trying to get started with producing... I've already seen too many of those "Hi, i would like to start producing/Which program should I use?/Should I get hardware instead of software" threads... it's ridiculous.
Humour Section:
There should be an option or something for when you create a thread saying if the thread is either "suitable for work/school" or "not suitable for work/school" like how the "For Sale" forum has a "WTB" or "for sale" option.
Amateur Producers forum:
I don't think there needs to be too many mods done on this forum as things generally go well.
For the other forums, I think they are in good condition and really don't need any changes
General:
There should be something like banning certain links like goatsecx or ******* b/c not everyone knows about what's in those websites so it would be a good thing if ppl never had to see those pictures..

| Originally posted by Wicked Neo I take it u mean this question arctic ? The way the mods are distributed, well, for a start, the regional forums are modded by members from that region (well duh lol) The amatatur forum to use your example is modded by a couple of members that do produce / dj etc and also by a few mods that have been on this board since almost the start of TA. Those more senior mods do tend to take a step back in those forums letting those mods with more knowledge on the given subject run that forum, but every now and then they go on vacation or are at school or involved in something to do with the 'real' world and cant always be there which is where if things get out of hand then one of the senior mods can deal with any problems. this goes for all of those unique forums. Plus they are also split by time region, this is a global board so the UK mods for example would be asleep or out for the night whilst for example an AU mod would be around on the boards. it is arranged so that for 99% of the time all of the main forums / unique forums have someone around to mod any of those said forums if they need it. |

| Originally posted by DaveSaenz Anyways I've never had any major problems with the mods except for a few instances. Recently when I was on vacation one of the UK mods decided it would be funny to edit my sig to say, "User is too stupid and ugly for TA." This statement is of course laughable, but is slander nonetheless. I have also seen occasions in the US forums where posts were made and people have "said" things that they actually didn't say (i.e. someone with access to the person's account posted something fraudulent on behalf of another member). I'm not saying it was a mod's doing in those instances, but who else has the authority to edit peoples' posts? These are relatively minor things of course, but they still constitute an abuse of power and are also a testament to the immaturity of the individuals involved. They also perpetuate the kind of petty bullshit that has infected TA as of late, which would be in all our best interests to avoid. |
