OMG that was one of the lamest "horror" movies i have ever seeen! Altho granted u saw it in the movie theatre with great sound and whatnot.. but when me and my friends rented it for a night.. i dunno it just wasnt as scary as it was cracked up to be IMO

also ive never heard of that session 9 movie you all are talking about. I czeched it out on IMDB.com and it looks really interesting i may have to go rent it and watch it sometime

i wouldnt really say any of the mentioned movies are truly scary, most of all 'the ring' the stupid american version.

im suprised none of you have mentioned 'the evil dead' yet and quite possibly evil dead 2, although it was a bit of a comedy.

hellraiser 1 & 2 ?

...my god. I'm scarred for life from that movie.

4 people walked out in the first ten minutes... I woke up stiff the next morning from holding every muscle tight during the flick.

It just builds up anticipation and anxiety over & over until you feel like you might die...

there's no loud noises or scary things jumping out at you all of a sudden - In my opinion, that's just cheap-scare technique... but what this movie does - my sperm are still scared, and my unborn children will one day have nightmares from this movie.

This movie makes me feel sick from watching it. A differnt kind of fear takes over you, not the stand something jumps out and scared, just a sick eerie feeling

On top of that he wanted actual locations so the Overlook hotel was basically a real hotel somewhere (im not exactly sure where exactly). This in itself helped create the isolated feeling that movie depicts.

The Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta, Canada. Absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking scenery!!
