you are wise beyond your years! and while i can see how people can interpret suicide, you nailed what our intensions actually were.

although - i'm a firm believer that whatever a song says to you personally is what it is about. things speak to us all in different ways.

This song just received a breath of fresh air... I had been thinking it was about sadness, suicide, melancholy, and regret all this time, but the idea of the "mediocrity" of life makes much more sense, and hits alot closer to home. I do get sad when I see people, especially the older ones in their 40s and 50s, who really haven't done much their entire lives... they've lived in the same town, worked in the same jobs... it's sad to hear this since I feel like saying... "So what have you done all your life except work and make money, did you enjoy your life?"

They haven't really ventured out to see everything their is to witness and experience in life, they seem to forget we only get 1. You have to seize the moment before it's too late... kind of scary thinking about passing through life and not taking all the opportunities available to you, at the end of your life... can you say you enjoyed your time?

Thanks for the explanation Sym and David.

Breaking news, this just in:

The vocals actually mean "bananas are a healthy & tasty snack."

That is all.

theres a couple of lines that still confuse me -

"i got stuck"

"i guess it crept away"

if the song was originally written in german, then translated to english, i could understand why these two lines sound so weird, but i dunno. any help, dave?

The I got stuck part means you have nothing to look forward to like dreaming of looking forward to a lover or getting this goal in your life.

When you lose or break up it will fade = crep away there's no energy/faith to go on.

But after a while it'll be forgotten and you will get interested in other things around and you'll be realising that there a so many..

That should be about it.

i think i replied to this thread once before. "beautiful things" is a real-life stoy about one of mavie's friend who got married at a young age to a successful man and they had kids. mavie interpreted her situation into a song. it's a song about regret. a song about a someone who is not ready to settle down and be a housewife in the suburbs. it originally had very different lyrics and was called "annie"

when mavie and david perform acoustic shows, she sometimes sings the original words as they are even more depressing and paint the picture of her friend's situation even better.

mavie's been working on new songs and i heard one of them the other day. it's very inspiring stuff. me and josh plan on producing the real andain album this year, some of it based on the songs that were leaked on the net and a whole bunch of new songs.

david penner played guitar on the collaboration we did with markus schulz. it sounds really fantastic ! that song will most likely be debuted in our essential mix in march.

i like how the lyrics personify "silently" and "unpredictable"
