Pshaw... you're a real sweetie aren't ya mel.

I'm just out to lunch when I am or have been thinking really hard... I swear, I could've seen my own mother at that instant and not said hello.

Nothing to concern myself over though, I have enough other things (and people) to deal with this week.

Posted by UglyDave on Oct-21-2003 15:24:

well, she aint in the class i'm in now, but i'll be in tomorrow + thurs, so if i get a chance i'll c her then, if not - friday i guess.

she will be mine!!!!

although, i've noticed another guy in the course lurkin about her quite abit, so i'm not sure if she's goin out with him or not..

i'll tell ya's how it goes though!!

well perhaps it is better that you didnt have a half witted convo with her then. it's better that you are at least capable of conversation when approaching new people.

though, a "how did you like that exam?" would have been appropriate.

No shit, Sherlock...

Dave, guys lurk around girls all the time... 99% of the time they ain't goin' out. The one I was talking about hangs around some other guy in some of the classes too, but I'm no less than 100% certain that she's not touching him and never will. (Although obviously, you make yourself look rude if you interrupt their conversation, you do have to wait for her to make herself available before you ask her out)

OMFG!!!!!! just go up to her..dammit, she will not eat you alive..damm, you don't necessarily have to ask her for her hand of marriage...just have small talk with her....do you want me to tell you what to ask too ?

ok, here are some pointers:

1. ask her what kind of music she listens to, see if you can get her into trance, if she doesn't like it. that way you can lend her some of your fave cd's and conversation will progress...maybe you can get her digits later on in the process...

2. you can even joke around and tell her how this class stink like ass, or the teacher is a mofo..proper way of sharing a good laugh..and you can charm her with you witty sense of humor, if you have any...lol

3. ask her what she is doing this weekend? then if she is not doing anything, offer a suggestion..maybe a movie, dinner or hang out at a friends house (whatever you young kids do these days) lol...

hope these suggestions will help you and STOP BOTHERING US...lol

Idea

Just go up to her and talk to her! No harm can come. And somehow, lately, the roles got switched and we girls are the ones that have to go up to the guys, and quite frankly, im not fond of that, and I'm getting a bit tired of it!
Besides, like someone else said, she already made an opinion about you. I've decided about all the guys in my lectures! Even though I never talk to them... heh

WHAT! You lie, such women do not exist.

I *never* see girls go up to guys! And I'm not saying that's the way it should be either, but I still never see it.

OK, don't "see if you can get her into trance", I mean, this takes weeks to do even with a girlfriend. If she IS into any of that though (and a lot of them are without realizing it - I love giving someone a ride and blasting some techno in my car and them going "whoa! what is that?"), then you're set, make a date to drop off some ch00nz and chat her up then!

Nononono. One thing you definitely don't want to do is talk negatives, or make negative observations. 'Cause then she'll associate that negative stuff with you. Talk positive, DO try to give her a laugh though.

No. Movies are terrible first dates - you sit there for 2 hours and can't talk and it's too early to make out. Then when you get up, you're like "uhh... good movie huh?" And DON'T bring friends into it! Dinner's okay, but make sure it's not pizza or McDonald's or something.

If you have unusual hobbies that you can bring other people into, like skydiving or wine tasting or whatever, then do that. Otherwise, I'd strongly suggest just asking her out for coffee. Don't get too formal on the first date, otherwise you look desperate!

Other than that, good advice. Heh.

haha..you butchered my advice...ru a girl? coz i'am, and i know what we want...i think getting her into trance is a great idea..it didn't take my ex bf to get into trance..i guess it's all being open minded on things...

i think both sets of advice are good cause they are agressive but amazingly, i tend to agree more with diginut on the trance thing. you shouldnt try to change a person you are with, let alone before you even ask them out. and while it is nice to share interests, it is really insulting for someone to not be willing to hear what kind of music you are into (if any at all) and to assume that everyone will like what you like.

Such women do exist! I am one of them. heh. So many guys now decide that its the "womens turn" to have at it. So I try. I say hey, whats up, wanna hang out sometime? But frankly, as I said earlier, so sick of it. How about someone starts paying attention to me now?

And the blasting trance in the car... my fav thing to do!..... how you doin' Diginut?

@#^%$! right! My favourite is when I'm cruising alone and pass by "couples" (I use the term loosely)... I get the thug/beatnik guy giving me the "wtf is that shit" sneer, and his girl givin' a big smile... haha.

Actually I have to go off on a tangent here... I went through all the music phases when I was a kid (well I'm still a kid but anyway), classic rock, alternative rock, rap, heavy metal, basically everything except country, and have stayed on electronica for about 5 years, though I listen to all kinds of electronic. I find that most of the girls I meet can find at least one sub-genre (like jungle, trance, techno) that they like... and women are pretty open-minded about that... so my question is, how come guys think they know it all when it comes to music? Whether it's the metalheads or the punks or the prog whores, they think that their music is somehow the only good music and try to impose that standard on their friends and girls too.

I mean my roommate and his friend listen to ELO and Oasis and don't get me wrong, they're talented artists, but they call this "pick up music", and say that I listen to the "wrong kind" for that, I'm like WTF!?? How hard is it to figure out that women like BASS? It's dance music and it's vibrations, pure and simple, that's why they like hip hop and that's why they like jungle. As if you're ever going to get attention from someone under 30 years old or over 12 by blasting fucking Queen out of your Civic. Yes, they're classic, yes, they're great, no, they're not meant to be blasted out of a car with the windows and the sunroof wide open.

Anyway, now that that rant's out of the way... how j00 doin'? Wanna cruise?

the bass is especially good when you are sitting on a big subwoofer.

Yeeaaaaahh, how about you come down to Toronto in December, it's a little more mild!

When I was a wee young whippersnapper, my parents always took the family to Florida during the winter vacation... I sorta outgrew that, but I still miss lying out in the sun in chilly December.

LOL @ cyber cruising. Somehow I think some of the 'magic' is lost in that.
