btw guys, sometimes I feel retarded that I'm trying to learn HTML XHTML, and soon enough PHP, when it has nothing to do with my day-to-day life. I mean, talk about nerdy and retarded. Any of you guys feel this way as well? It's not like I'm a web developer or anything, but I just feel the need to know this stuff. Also helps me when I want to be a bit creative and make my own content, but is that an excuse to waste so much time learning this stuff? My dad would probably think so, but whatever who cares.

btw I'm planning to learn C++, just for the hell of it, lol. I already know quite a bit of Java, so it shouldn't be that hard...

So what do you guys think. Am I:

a) retarded and wasting my time?, or
b) one of those do-it-yourselfer truth seeking "gotta know how it works and be able to use it myself" kinda people?

Just learn for the sake of it, if you love doing so.
Some ppl need to have something to do with it when they learn anything, not my case. if you are like me, enjoy

if any cell's content is wider than the cell width you defined, then ALL the column's cells get stretched.

Yea I discovered that while putting images into one of my columns. I was testing to see whether the column would stretch or if the image would be cut-off (which seemeded more logical). Apparently not.

I'd like to know who doesn't.

I use 1152*864, I find it to be the "sweet spot" on 17 inch monitors...

Any way to tell it to vertically center an image or block of text? Somehow I feel putting in several

in a row isn't the best way of doing it.

I'm guessing I have to run a JavaScript to GetWidth(), etc., and then shove that into the HTML (divided by 2 or whatever)...

Yea, just don't know how to use the stuff it can do.

I've encountered something weird. I have centered tables as mentioned, all width 955, border 0. On the top of the page, before the tables, I have a centered image of width 125 pixels. For some reason, it appears a bit smaller (seems that the tables are actually displaying a bit more than a width of 955, maybe 959 or so). What could be the problem?
