go to your local pharmacy and get glucose strips that check for that in your urine. They turn blue when you hit ketosis It should be in the diabetics section.

and yeah you do get a lil tired, but still, I love the feeling!

also makes you realize how much you eat because you get bored lol. I think Ill fast next week, you guys are getting me all pumped for it

So isnt your body going into Ketosis the same as Detoxing? A low carb diet can do so.

If you dont think so orbax explain.

yes, you just reduce your intake of carbs... it's just that with fasting it's so much faster.

man, i'm feeling all warm and fuzzy

Another question.. what about exercise, i run 3 times a week and lift at the gym too. Will this detox have any dire consequence on my exercize? Like should I limit my running (about 2.5 miles) and weight lifting? Will i get dizzy or woozy or something?

Just want to prepare for it.

I would suspend major energy burns for the time of fasting. Itll rebuild and repair your muscles better if you arent still ripping them apart.

also on ketosis. The reason you get it from fasting instead of diet is because in a diet you are still eating. The main benefit of fasting is that the 2nd most energy consuming activity you do (besides keeping several hundred pounds of tissue heated to 98.6 degrees) is digesting. "civilized" countries tend to EAT AND EAT all day long jamming starches and fats and proteins into their stomach.

Imagine a drier. and you take as many wet towels as you can possibly jam into the machine and then you stuff it closed and hit start. You overload your system every single day.

With fasting (and super hydration ((drinking a quart of near-hot water in the morning and through out the day))) Your body can spend time on important stuff, like making white blood cells. I havent been sick in years, and my dad hasnt had a cold since 1987. 1 day of fasting a week is awesome for you, and with what we know today people SHOULD be living to 120 regularly, but they want those krispy kreme doughnts...

I gave up on my fast because I realized that doing it this week was completely pointless. I am still making a point of drinking largely increased amounts of water and juices, but am going to eat some so I'm ready for the massive amounts of substances that will be bombarding me this weekend.

I'm starting the real 5-day version on Sunday --> Thursday of next week.

What good does near-hot water do as opposed to cold water?

Posted by JayD on Oct-29-2003 23:27:

Ok Orbax fair enough . How should water be divided in the day. Is it like a certain amount at a specific time (i saw you said the quart in the morning thing) or is it whenever you have cravings that water should be consumed?

Drinking near hot water serves several purposes:

1) Doesnt need to be heated by your body
2) The nature of hot liquids tends to thin the barriers and is able to super saturate cells and blood stream.

Try drinking only hot water for a week. The first couple times it will make you nauseous. After that you will crave it. It makes all of your veins and capillaries open right up, youll probably start sweating. It jump starts you into being active, and helps everything function better.

Dont be too constant on liquids. Too much water can flush out electrolyte balances. I would say a quart of hot water in the morning, and then a glass every two hours will be more than enough.

try to urinate before bed so your body can focus on other stuff and stop drinking a couple of hours before sleep.

basically go through about 3 quarts - 1 gallon of water a day and youre solid. I prefer getting a 1 gallon water bottle from the store.

Cheers

Be careful of how much juice you drink. It may seem healthy, but most juices contain an obscene amount of carbs and too much orange juice will cause ulcers to develop on the back of your tongue and in your stomach due to its acidity.

also juices have lots of sugar...

Posted by Orbax on Oct-30-2003 06:09:

also they are all heat pasteurized which means any redeeming qualities they may have had before they dumped in the sugar and other shit is gone

hmm, I do that, about 1 time every 10 days I dont eat anything. But I don't plan it, usually get too much into something and up eating nothing. Maybe it IS healthier.
Hope so

Posted by UWM on Oct-30-2003 06:55:

I've only been drinking cranberry juice, no OJ or anything acidic.

But then I went and ruined that tonight by drinking lots of vodka and beer.

But I already knew the fast was over until Sunday.

Posted by whiskers on Oct-30-2003 13:56:

whoa, i'm on day 3, i just woke up and i'm not feeling hungry at all... yes, ketones supress the feeling of hunger. nausea's also gone, you just have to get more sleep. i'm planning on going through with this today, then having an apple tomorrow morning, some soup at lunch, a sandwich 2 hours later and halloween ninjar pastar for dinnar

Posted by EliPsE on Oct-30-2003 16:11:

I'm think'n about doing this. I have a good amount of beef (fat) What will this process do to the beef. Dont you just gain it all back afterwards. Even with water.

Posted by Massive84 on Oct-30-2003 17:17:

hmm this seems a bit extreem..

i have to fast for ramadan now, for 1 whole month, means i may not drink, smoke or eat from sunrise, till dawn..and to be honnest, i feel very weak at the end of the day, because i hadn't 1 single thing in my mouth.

Now i know not eating, is a way to loose wight, but i doubt its good for your health..

You say for 5 days, you may only drink water and eat apples..

Now please explain me how that is good for your health?

ITS GOOD FOR WEIGHT but not health, i seriously doubt it

A human body need 2 liter of water a day, 2 fruits a day, some veggies, i remember 6 slices of bread a day, and 3 times a week a meat meal.

Thats the way to stay healthy, and also loose wight and also keep your weight on balance..

It's simple apples do not supply enough Vitamins that the body needs everyday..

So i can not understand that this is a healthy way, i do understand that it is a extreem way of loosing fast weight...

I would also like to say , that this is possible, because a human can survive without food for 7 days and 1 day without water..
