I used to have a good Astrid set but it's been months since I've been able to find it. She does throw down, hard! What a woman!

Are you really stupid or just ignorant, I pray ignorant. Buzz has been booking all the stupid played out Trance Dj's you like so much way before your stupid ass started listening to Trance. Buzz is devouted to EDM in general. And frankly EDM gets soooooooooooooooo much better than Trance... God bless them for booking Breaks Dj's that kickass like Infusion and Hybrid, maybe one day your commercial ass will be able to appreciate good music. Until then keep going to Glow and taking it up the rear from Pete Moutso you fuckin loser. PEACE!

need not to tell me about the VIP (Very Incredibly Peevish) section @ Glow

Yes... the music was OK. Definitely a lot of cheese in the beginning. Could only sustain my bouncing for less than 30 seconds after every new track. Not the typical Tiesto set that I'm used to hearing in NYC. But then again most of the sets that I've been hearing from Tiesto have been pretty similar since the start of the 2003 Ibiza season (his Amnesia sets).

The only reason why I even considered buying VIP tickets is because I wanted to make sure that I would've gotten in and so that I didn't have to wait on line. But what the heck. They game me an "elite" stamp on my forehand that only required you to pay an extra 10 bux for online or 20 bux if you asked the bouncer. I've already checked it out in the past. Nothing special. But I thought whatever; maybe the second time would turn out better.

So this guy xxxxx introduced me to the owner of the club xxxxx and he told me that Tiesto cost $70,000 for the night. I can't believe that DJs are demanding so much frickin money these days, but probably only in America though. Either that, or its some kinda complcated formula that depends on the capacity of the venue, number of hours, etc. Anyways, I ended up bring up to him how the vibe is really whack here the last time i was here and apparently he gave me the cold shoulder after that. Owell HEHE.

Anyways, most of the ppl up there were whack. I did end up having a meaningful conversation with this one white girl though. Hope she's doing better with her problems.

Looks like I'm not planning on headed to Glow anytime soon in the future unless I have a car and its a DJ that I've been longing to hear.

THIS IS THE REASON WHY I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE GLOW

unfortunatley, I must say, what could've been a fun and good and positive experience was horribly marred for me due to the overwhelming crowd of douchebags. So I found myself having kind of a crappy night, despite enjoying Tiesto's set...just too many moronic asses in that crowd...I don't even want to go into the incedent that happened in the "vip" room
ughhh

-------------------------------
me explaining the "incident":
--------------------------------

aight, if you must know
at some point during the night I made my way up to the VIP room to take a breather and give my feet/legs a much needed break.
After wandering around for 5 mins or so, I finally found a tiny corner of some piss/beer/puke soaked couch to squat on.
I hadn't been sitting there for more than 5 seconds when this total DOUCHE sits down next to me, pulls me aside, and starts trying to get me to leave the couch
It went something like this:

Douche: Hey buddy, you think you can move? I want to stretch my legs.
Me: Nah...sorry, I just got here, I need to rest.
Douche: Come on, move, I hurt my legs 3 weeks ago, and I want to stretch them.
Me: Sorry, but I am really tired, and I'm not moving, I was here first. Besides, there is plenty of space for you to stretch your legs right there.*me points to large space in front of douchebag*
Douche: Whats your problem man? You trying to give me an attitude?
Me: No, I'm just tired and I don't want to get up right now.
Douche: (threateningly) Want me to move you then?!
Me: Want me to fucking call security on you?
Douche: Look man, I paid for this seat, want me to get the manager here? I know him.
Me: You paid for this seat? This specific seat? You reserved it?
Douche: Did you pay for it?
Me: No, I work for Glow so I didn't have to.
Douche: Want me to prove it then? Come with me to see the manager!
Me: Go get this "manager" then, go ahead!
Douche: argh

at that point he gave up

fucking dumbass shit

I was thouroughly annoyed after that point. Im sick of all these slimy douchebags who think they are gods gift to the universe...the crowd was full of them last night

Also he played Andy Hunter - Go at the begining of his set within the first hour and not 26 tracks into his set. I think he played AVB - Slipstream after Dirty Sticky Floors cause thats when i was in the back right by you Beema.
He also played Naked Angel half way threw his set.

I have to agree with beema. I never heard electronic malfunction ever. I would have recognized it. I was thinking about whether he would play it or not. but never did. You might have just heard another track and thought it was it.

he did NOT play that song. That song is very easily recognizable, I would've IDed it right off the bat.
He mixed that breakbeat track right into Airwave, I thought there was some other breaks track in-between but I was wrong
Tisto played Electronic Malfunction back in May during his Encore, and that was when he mixed it into Airwave, I think.

btw, WTF is up with everyone saying he played Cheese in the begging of his set?
I heard NO cheese in the beggining cept that one BT song with the gay vox. Most of the stuff he played early in his set was proggy and even a couple techno songs...

Posted by sammy6979 on Nov-04-2003 06:20:

BTW, Pete Moutso definitely played Ton T.B. - Electronic Malfunction. No one can mistake that song for something else.

umm, no, you're the poser.
Bill knows what he's talking about. Buzz was booking Trance djs before Glow was even around.. While its true Glow books a lot more trance than Buzz these days, Buzz books a lot of great DJs with a lot of variety within EDM, not just "shitty dnb djs" as you ignorantly put it.
What do you call Sandra Collins, Scumfrog, Aaron Liberator, Oakenfold, BT, Infusion, Adam Freeland, Hybrid, Sander K, Danny Howells...
the list goes on
stfu and go hang out with your ass-buddy Johnny at his wedding & barmitzvah gigs, so you can hear some of your precious cheese

Oh OK it was PETE that played Electro Malfuntion.....I was wrong there was so much confussion by that time cause everybody was saying Tiesto was suppost to play till 5. By that time i was so fucking lost in the music i didnt even realize Tiesto was done spinning till Pete dropped Afterburn - Summer Sun....thats when i looked back up at the booth and Tiesto was gone.

OK, this is friggin' retarded. Just cause you're into EDM doesn't mean you have to like ALL aspects of it. Buzz isn't for some people, just like Glow isn't for others. Whether you like it or not, cheese is part of EDM. You don't like it, and no one is forcing you to. Just like some people won't like dnb, breaks, techno, etc. Respect people's right to choose. Commercial or not, music is music. What if one day all your underground material suddenly got airplay all around. Would you stop listening to it because it's trendy?

Posted by vtec junkie on Nov-04-2003 06:36:

OK who wants to fucking fight? right now you mother ******s come on......bring it on.

Short answer to your final question is yes... but the main point is that Buzz knows about Trance... they just choose not bring the cheeze...

I guess everyone's definition of cheeze is different. I've heard all too many Buzzheads say all Trance is cheeze. Well... whatever. I've heard cheeze in all forms (dnb, house, techno, etc.). It's just a part of the way producers write stuff. "Commerical" is what sells. What sells is what brings in the $$$. Are some producers sell outs? Yeah, of course they are. I'll give Buzz some credit. They definitely avoid anything mainstream. Is that a good thing necessarily? Depends on how you look at it. As long as they are making money then at least that says there's a demand for what they put out. Doesn't mean Buzz is for everyone though.

Posted by NYGblue on Nov-04-2003 07:19:

OH no I still like Trance... there is J00F, Astral Projection, Infected Mushroom, Hallucinagen... thats good Trance! and tough to spin... generally though Galdamez i can't disagree with anything else you say. But I don't think it has anything to do with why I originally bitched out Sammy for making an ignorant statement. The other stuff I said was icing on the cake. Something that can be debated back and forth with no conclusive end... oh yes Semantics...

I still like Tiesto... I didn't go see him because I don't want to hear the same stuff, and see all of the GLow people. I will probably give Amnesia@Space a good shot while I am in Spain in 2004! Sides we all know Tiesto and PvD play better sets in Ibiza...

I'm sure that he was referring to the songs played prior to "Beautiful Things" since that didn't drop for almost an hour into the set...dude
