LOL, if it were true, he's obviously trying to prove that you are the tard to look down and underestimate the 'potential' of many japanese cars.

and i'm very confident a $25,000 cdn car like an Integra Type R can outhandle a lot of cars priced much higher than that.

btw all that proved is that a celeron is an old piece of shit thats running faster than your bling bling P4 at a MUCH lower cost.

hey teknohead, got pics of your integra? what kind of mods do you have?

I say probably because I haven't driven a BMW thus I can't validate my decision. I can almost guarentee you that a BMW would be heavier than my car, except for maybe the Z3.

I think you first need to have a good lesson on the hobby of modifying cars. There are basically 3-4 different types of setups that people go for: performance, show, stereo, and handling (which ties in closely to performance). Those people who tint out their windows, add big heavy chrome wheels & have huge stereos in their car do it for show.

Yes I realize there are a bunch of posers out there who slap a cheap fart pipe on their car and think they have a rocket...and sadly its these people who give us Japanese car modifers the name "ricers".

I am just getting started on my car, but I have not gone cheap with anything I've put on it. I just installed a $600 (retail) exhaust on my car last month & I also have a cold air intake. Not only do do these mods make my engine breath better, but I also get better gas milage.

Posted by Mark on Nov-05-2003 04:07:

which exhaust did you get?

here's my list of mods so far

h&r sport springs
dc sports catback exhaust
front/rear strut tower bars
16" enkei rp02 rims

its not a whole lot since i blow money on other things as well. i'm guilty of a poor money saver.

i've spent far more money on stereo which i'm starting to get bored of. i'll probably sell most of my stereo and continue to mod the car to perform better.

thinking about getting a dc sports stainless steel 4-1 header and an aem v2 cold air intake.

here's some pics of my car and yes, i riced it a bit with those reverse indiglos. HAHA its a mod a harsh regret doing now but its all good. i will replace the entire cluster with a mugen or type r one in the future.

very nice clean looking car. props to you.

Thanks man, I wash the car at least 1 time a week and rub it out & wax it quarterly (those pics were taken a week ago & that's not even freshly waxed) I may get JDM 1 pieces but I think I'm going to get a DC Sports 4-2-1 header first. Then maybe a VIS carbon fiber hood (my hood has some hail damage and swirl marks). Other than that there are no swirl marks on the paint anywhere else.

Your pics still aren't showing

-HONDA CIVIC-

Why are people so obsessed with making their cars look like they're faster than they really are? It's not just Civic owners, it's people with Neons and Hyundais too. They go all out and buy new rims, tint their windows, add fins, paint stripes on their car... why? It's old. You drive a shitty car, deal with it. Mitsubishi Eclipse owners are some of the worst offenders. What's the point of dumping all this cash into modifications when it won't significantly change the performance of your vehicle?

It's ironic that with all the money that these morons dump into modification, they could have saved up and bought a real sports car in a couple of years instead of pretending like they drive one now. It doesn't matter how big your fins are, it doesn't matter how cool your rims look, it doesn't matter how much noise your muffler makes. You still drive a shitty car. Period. End of story.

The other day I pulled up next to some jackass in an intersection. He started to rev up his engine and roll back and forth. I turned my head towards him, glanced at his car, glanced at him, rolled my eyes and turned back to the road. This pissed off the driver and as soon as the light turned green, he went peeling off. Way to go jackass. Now what did he prove? A) That his car is so fast and powerful, that he can even beat people who aren't racing him. B) That he's a wise investor for buying those rims, because the ones he had just weren't cutting it. C) Those stripes on his car look sharp and hide the fact that it's still just a Civic or D) That he's a dipshit.

Why didn't I race him? Because I don't drive a sports car and I know it. I could pretend I drive a sports car, just like anyone else. I could put giant fins on my car and pretend it's a jet or whatever the hell they think putting huge fins on a car accomplishes. Or I could quit pretending and just drive my damn car to work and school. Watching people race in Civics is like watching people race in minivans. I suppose the competition is there, but it's anti-climactic, like watching two geriatrics playing golf. It's a race where even if you win, you lose.

What's the point of having a fast car anyway? Is there some legal speed that they're trying to reach that they can't seem to do with normal cars? Even if your car can go more than 200 mph, you have to break the law (more often than not) to do so. Way to go dipshit, you spent your life savings on something you can't use. Worthless.

*COUGH* http://maddox.xmission.com/civic.html *COUGH*

give credit where it's due.

btw...I wonder what's to say about a Pontiac Firefly?

speaking of which, i spent most my day in the hospital yesterday because the damn thing was spreading across my legs. I had to have an IV to pump some hardcore juices into me to kill the infection. I guess i have really small veins and they had to use a pediatric IV and even with that they stuck it in 3 diffrent places until it would stay. OUCH! i have bruises now all over my hand. Anyhow, woke up this morning and thankfully IT IS GOING AWAY! So where's the love??

ugh...people modify their cars because they want a 'custom' feel to their ride. you may think it is a waste of money but to them it is only spending it on a hobby. it's like a dj who constantly shops for records. i do both, so i understand this concept. hobbies aren't cheap nowadays. also, wheres the fun in driving a more expensive but stock car? its all about personal interests and preference.

If I had the money I would trick out my car as well.....but if I was filthy rich I'd own a car that looked like it came straight out of the Fast and the Furious movies.

I think you forgot the Pontiac Fiero.

Posted by butterfly420 on Nov-08-2003 00:18:

My car isn't up there. So I am going to make one up for my car.
Toyota Echo---> It starts rocking when you hit 80 mph... total raver mobile... if your a guy driving it, your still in the closet.
