i dont like a huge amount of hardstyle, just the good hard trance, i.e. stuff from europe and not most the wank that comes out of our country

lol, if thats what you think.

Although i havent heard any good hard trance come from europe for quite a while now.

Hmmmm.

Posted by jizza on Nov-10-2003 02:30:

you see Ozzie, the fact of the matter here is that your perspective of hard trance does vary to what other's may consider hard trance. you're going to have to accept that (but i get the feeling you wont).

i live in australia, over here we dont call the likes of lab 4, guyver, BK etc "hard trance". it's known as "UK hard dance" (dont fuckin look at me, i didn't coin the phrase ).

i'm not trying to get into a stoush or war of words here, im just stating that's the situation round my parts. yes, system-j's list is flawed and not ALL are hard trance but then again so are some of your suggestions Ozzie (ie. Cosmic Gate will ALWAYS be hard trance).

Posted by Icesotope on Nov-10-2003 06:11:

Haha.. Ozzie is always making fun of himself when comes to insulting other hard-heads. Grow Up Man, do you know theres such thing as different "skools" and "styles". Hardstyle is born with the influence of Gabber and HardcoreTekno. DJ Promo, Neophyte, DJ Panic all go with the flow, It has nothing to do with UK Hardhouse. As for Hardhouse, In Most people's minds, it will always be BK, Andy Farley, Ian M, Chris C. Etc.. If you check out the histroy of it, its born way after Gabber and Hardcore. The 90's Hardhouse is abosuluty the very harder version of Italohouse, Vocalhouse Progressive House and even Tech-House. Don't Know What i mean? Hear The One's Flawless remix into beats like Gabber and bassline that could tear the roof off (Without changing the BPM).

Truely, Its really hard to explain genre concepts. Artist has been changing their styles over and over, more and more "Technovised" to suit the surronding of electronica music. Example: Gary D is suppose to do oldskool hardtrance with DJ Gollum but as years change he is now into the so call "Hardstyle". As For gollum, He's like DJ Lee, Doing Commercial Trance. Trust Me. In the years to come, there wouldn't be old-skool hardtrance or oldskool hardhouse anymore. THe Oldskool hardtrance 20 years from now will be like Dumonde or Cosmic Gate. Who Knows Hardtrance will evolve into tougher and harder towards Digital Techno and Gabber

Yeap, your smart m8. Takes my hats off you. I guess you're the only one who notice it. I even added Rexanthony's Hardstyle Mix. My purpose for it is to see who really has the effort to compare the difference between hardstyle and hardtrance or hardhouse. Turely, That compliation is consist of only a few UK Hardhouse and Some Hardtrance. But Mostly are hardstyle or shld i say Netherlands' Hardstyle. Technoboy, Luca Antolini and DJ Ghost arn't doing hardstyle anymore. They are somehow much into commercial trance..no wait it could be commercial hardtrance. But still it can really trick one's eye. Always don't judge the song by its looks. If you have known who is temper temper,--> Tommy Pulse - Cold Days (Temper Temper Remix), you may think its hardstyle or even better...Gabber. But its not. Its hardtrance, suprisingly it has the style of Alphazone. Temper Temper is DJ Promo. A very well known artist for Thunderdome Hardcore/Gabber

yes, i do know that its called hard dance in alot of places and from the start i said it was my opinon. Cosmic Gate might "always" be hard trance to you, its not a flawed suggestion to me cos i dont class them as *THAT* hard personally although many people do. so accept that while your at it.

i dont need to grow up, last i checked i was older than you pal. since when did i say there wasnt other styles? all i said was that some of the tracks werent the style he was saying they were? and if you mean the comment to ravemonkey it was a joke hence the "" and "". or did you mean before when u moaned about me saying i didnt like hardstyle? i really dont, to me its crap, if u like it then go ahead i dont really care but dont expect me to respect it as much.

Actually no, i didnt contradict myself. I meant the new cosmic gate style isnt hard trance, the only track they did which was like it was Firewire/Hardcore/Back To Earth, since then their productions have been nothing like then and not hard trancey at all.

Mate, you're wrong on this point. May I remind you of these tunes:

Green Court - Inside Your Gates (Cosmic Gate Remix)
DJ Tiesto - Urban Train (Cosmic Gate mix)
Miss Shiva - Dreams 2002 (Cosmic Gate remix)
Rank 1 - Awakening (Cosmic Gate remix)
Safri Duo - Samb Adagio (Cosmic Cate Remix)
Vanessa-mae - White Bird (Cosmic Gate Remix)

Banging hard trance tunes.

I actually said productions, their own tracks etc, not the remixes, the last thing i got by them was their Rank 1 remix so must get more really.

the only one i have right now is the Urban Train remix n its *that* hard to me (before someone complains) and i havent listened to their Rank 1 mix or White Bird for well over a year now, not heard the rest of em yet.

Okay Ozzie, I've listened to what you and other critics have said about it, and looking back I think that I was defending a hopeless cause, even though I think that more of the stuff on it was harder than you reckoned.

Anyway, I've remade it so that the two CDs cover both sides of hard trance- the side you prefer and the side I mostly prefer. Its still got some hardstyle on it, and a bit of stuff close to hard-house, but check it out:

CD 1: UPLIFTING

1. MAURO PICOTTO- Pulsar 2002 (Megamind Mix)
2. JURGEN VRIES- The Theme (JamX & DeLeone Remix)
3. WARP BROTHERS- Blast the Speakers (UK Club Mix)
4. ENERGY 52- Cafe del Mar (Marco V Remix)
5. THE CLERGY- The Oboe Song (Green Martian Remix)
6. ALTITUDE- Altitude (SHOKK Remix)
7. NORMAN DJ- Go Back (Club Mix)
8. DJ KIM- Jetlag (Alphazone Remix)
9. DISCO BROTHERS & DARREN STYLES- Take Off
10. DJ SHOG- This is My Sound (Wavescope Remix)
11. DJ SCOT PROJECT- O (Overdrive)
12. BASIC DAWN- Pure Thrust (Nu-NRG Remix)
13. DJ TIESTO- Urban Train (Cosmic Gate Vocal Mix)
14. MARC DAWN- Expander (Fluctlicht Remix)

CD2: HARDER

8. STEVE BLAKE & TCR- Ignite
9. STIMULANT DJS- F*ck Da Beatz (Lee Haslam Remix)
10. HEADZ UP- Hit it Harder

Talking

Jesus ladz. ive been away 4 a few days and ive come back to a full blown fucking thread ruck. lol. nice effort ozzie m8. Tho i wudnt have included 'Wayne g pres. Twisted feat. Stewart who.' Never took to that one. lets just say a fusion of ozzies, systym-J and Isotopes effort would put us all in a fucking good place.
