Since when did ambient run at around 130 BPM? Since when did ambient have a straight 4/4 kickdrum or breakbeats? Drink Deep and Vodka Cranberries are progressive/breaks, period.

Though I dont like much of the trance thats coming out right now, but overall .... there's so much trance out there ... just switch the type of trance you listen to from time to time ... Listening to the same stuff all the time would make most of people sick ...

you're right.

i've been listening to a lot of classics too lately..
when i play stuff like plastic boy - angel dust, fire & ice - forever young, tiesto - urban train, etc. i know why i love trance so much!

You do? Why do you think you? Come on, don't be afraid....you can tell me.

I get tired of a track or a certain way of making one, but I never get tired of trance.

If you want really good stuff you will have to reach back into the early 90s.

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Vol. II
Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms
The Orb - Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld
The Orb - UFOrb

on a serious note, I got sick of the boring trance stuff about a year ago, I never quit the genre or liked another genre more. I just decided that too much of one genre gets boring, so I added techno, breaks and ambient to my listening habits and I have not got bored of trance since. I mean I think it is good to expand our musical tastes if trance gets boring. Everytime trance gets boring, I dig out an old classic 1998-1999 trance set and it comes back.
