Amen to that, brutha!

I know this board is called TRANCEaddict.com, but you know what? Genre-categorizing is friggin stupid (IMHO). Genres are being crossed all the time. I think it's all about electronic music from Breaks to Trance to House

Man....

The PROGRESSIVE duo from Canada. If all you Tiesto worshipers think he's god, then you should also respect and conform like sheep and like progressive too, Tiesto does!

Take your Tiesto crap to the Tiesto thread, this is the G&D thread.

disclaimer: most of you probably will have stopped at my tiesto comments and not read this far. Only to immediately defend Tiesto and flame me. This is not a post against Tiesto, it's a post to the haters of anything but Tiesto and the hijackers of this thread.

Word to big bird!

I agree, since Tiesto plays have G&D stuff anyway.

So how are you Kevin? How is the girl ?

Great, had a good time on Friday night. That was her first time at something like that, said she had a blast. We left around 4 or so, she wanted to leave and I was capable of leaving (where as sometimes I'm incapable of leaving at 4 ). I'm sure she'll want to go to the next one too (and if she doesn't really say anything, she won't have a choice because I AM going. )

Posted by Rocco on Nov-21-2003 01:09:

i'm possibly considering this event.....
i'm a hardcore trance junkie and i'm going. And i think their style is considered what u call progressive trance.

i also listen to Tiesto but i don't worship him. Guys, the stuborness and the closed minded thinking shouldn't be tolerated on this board. Music is music, if u have respect to the music, u'll respect the artists and their works even if it not something u would listen to on a regular bases.

Please quit the narrow-minded, arrogant atitudes simply cuz I (and i'm sure many others) do not want to hear such crap. Just cuz u love a certain DJ, it doesn't mean u can disrepect every other DJ and the ppl that like listening to the other DJ(s). I call that immaturity and down right dirty ignorance. Why did i have to go through 5 pages of a thread titled G&D and see Tiesto every second post? Even if ur a hardcore fan, please respect the artists and more importantly the tastes and styles of ur fellow trance addicts.

Thanks,

well they were already booked for january etc etc. which wasnt mentioned until way later to me

Posted by MarkT on Nov-21-2003 01:19:

^^^ I agree...sure, there are people that genuinely dislike a certain DJ's style...but many of the haters are just music snobs...if a DJ is popular, then it just isn't ok to like them...if it's not "underground" enough, it's just not worthy of respect...what bullshit

Having said that...popularity can be problematic...I mean, every time Tiesto comes, you have to brace for the Woodbridge invasion at the club, LOL so there's a *bit* of a snob in me after all

back on topic, jeezus...G&D...OMG, I'm getting excited for a party that's two months away, with Christmas and New Year's in between...wtf?!?

Posted by hardcore trancer on Nov-21-2003 03:00:

OOH MY GOD G&D!! I DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE X 10000

G&D underground??LMAO

Posted by MarkT on Nov-21-2003 06:00:

^^^ WTF??? That was exactly my point

G&D, Tiesto, Armin, etc. are NOT underground, which is the main reason some people refuse to give them any respect...

i refuse to give tiesto respect the way i used to back in the day cos now its all boutthe mulla (or at least appears that way)

Posted by MarkT on Nov-21-2003 16:56:

oh come on...so what? He's still great live. As long as he leaves the crap at home when he comes here to spin, it's all good. He's put in his time...let the man rack in some $$$ now

I agree with everything EXCEPT the 'great live' part. He's OK live.

id have to agree with that...

if u compare the mixing he does now with what he used to do back in the day, he sucks now...

infact our TOTA DJs are way more technical than him.

tiesto jsut beatmatches and crossfades now. logic behind that?? thats so that he can cram in as many tunes as he can into a set/compilation.

his sets are way too predictable since he plays practically the same tracks everytime (over a period of course).

anyways.

this thread is about gabriel and dresden.

i WILL go to see them for the fact that they are really good producers.

Yeah, same here. Also, the only thing I have to judge G&D by is their EssentialMix so hopefully they can re-create (and exceed) the magic when I see them live.
