Man, i been telling anyone and everyone about this. Plan to go there in August with some good friends. This really pumped me up! I really liked how you began it and ended it the same way. To me you made it seem like an island in heaven or something. Although I must say the girl at the beginning was annoying. (I hope that wasn't a friend). Otherwise, unbelievable!
.

AHAAHHA... shes not a friend, but was pretty friendly wheni asked her if i had permission to film her..

She was so high...

I specifically put her in the begining becuase she was annoying and eyecatching... i wanted her to start it off.

My fav parts were the Amnesia sequence, the Sunset part (sooooo niceeeeeeeeeeeeee), also the parts where the djs were interviewed, the Armin parts were very cool.

Yeah just being honest. It did do the job of grabbing my attention though. Shows what I know about making a documentary anyway! Fantastic!

I really liked it.. and I don't say this often about films of any kind it's well-edited and well-presented.
Why don't you submit it in a documentary category to a few film festivals.. Canadian ones for sure, but don't stop there. There's really no harm in that..
good luck

Thumbs up

I don't give out praise easily, but holy shit, that is a nice piece of film-making!

It has changed quite a bit from the first couple times I went, but it's still Ibiza! (Eivissa - I promised my friends on the island, I'd always call it it's Balerian name)!

I actually have lots of comments, but I hate typing out long stories so maybe if I ever meet you at a party, I'll tell you them all.

As a bit of a sidebar: I continue to find proof that the world really is smaller than you think....in your video, you interview a girl I know from Calgary. whoa!

just wondering .. but did u notice more Americans or Canadians while there .. ?

Posted by Cyrus King on Nov-26-2003 08:29:

on the beach i noticed more Canadians than Americans....

But im sure there are more Americans there...

Maybe it was fluke that i met more Canadians while i was there.

By the way... it looks like Dr. Goodvibes bandwidth has run out....

Yeah, Cannes for sure
I think Toronto International Film Festival is taking new submissions now.. why you want TIFF is because it's one of the few festivals where the people have access to all the films and you reach public, not only critics and the press like that.. so go for it

That's the one. I always suspected she would visit there after my stories.....

Man does she ever clean up nicely too.

I was the same way man. I saw it as a dream. I went and did it and when I was on the ferry back to Barcelona, I felt like I had accomplished my dream and I wanted to leave it at that. Almost like closure on something really special.

But then your film through it all out the window

Im just curious, what parts were among your favourites?

Definitely the Cafe Del Mar Scene with the sun set and classic tune in the background. Captures that moment to a tee. This scene was so fantastic that it sent shivers down my spine.

I also like the Eden (which was the best club IMO) scene. Great sounds, lights, and music.

Like I said, submit it for sure. It will definitely get the recognition it deserves

After that comment I keep playing back when they stole my socks and threw them into the pool. So bizarre at the time, but hillarious in retrospect.....

Posted by kwongandy on Nov-28-2003 04:35:

manumission

so, they still throw out your white socks at the door at priviledge?

i went there in 2000. will make comments after the video finishes d/ling.

i've never had the inkling to go back. would probably like to check out some festivals instead in europe.

always wanted to hit sheffield...

video

great job with the video. brought back a lot of memories. i just wanted to reiterate that families go vacation there. it's possible to vacation in ibiza without hearing music for the whole trip! of course, i don't think people on this forum would do that! lots of memorable stuff. of course, getting into clubs cost $40-$60 CDN. water was about $10 CDN. but it was well worth it!

interesting moment when went i went to eden. tiesto, jules and savage were playing that night. guess who opens? tiesto! after his set, he walks directly from the booth to the bar and grabs a drink. no one even bothers the guy. imagine today?

oh, happy birthday ambiguous. priviledge wouldn't let people in if they were wearing white socks. so, if you were wearing white socks, you had to take them off and throw them in this pile before going in.

nice work cyrus!

Then they went into the pool.....

I think it has to do with the ship theme and no shoes/socks on deck is a standard sailing rule.

Wow so you were there at the time trance was just begining to explode. What year was this and did you go up to Tiesto after his set?

His set must have been really good

*thinking of Live @ energy set*

Still watching this vid over and over....

my fav moments:
- the "washroom" bit
- the intro
- the older blonde girl from London talking about drugs. She rules.
- the sunset scene, nice work.

Still love this video and have been showing it to friends like mad.
