You should come the days BEFORE Ultra, sine alot of events are planned at clubs for cheap. I mean cheap, like $5 for Marco V, Mario Picotto, Johan Gielen, etc. There were some sweet ass parties Weds & Thurs, which I missed due to working in Vegas. But I flew down in time for Ultra. Worth the entire wait...

Thanks Art for a semi confirmation. I really would like a definite date, so I can start booking hotel and airfare. But at least you confirmed that it's not the 6-11, which I would not of gone due to work.

Can't wait!! Hope to see everyone there!!!!!!

nah, i'd rather not.. most of the djs spinning at clubs during that week will be at ultra anyway and places like space char $50 which is NOT worth it imo.. last year i went for s&d and it was so packed i couldnt even move.. i stayed on the terrace and listened to sander instead which was great.. also sasha & digweed's set @ ultra was better than space imo.. i just dont see the logic in blowing $40 + for clubbing when you can see way more djs + a whole better party production for around $50 @ ultra.. only thing that would be worth it is the conferences itself that are held that week... next year, after ultra, i just wanna 'enjoy' my time off in miami.. no intense clubbing.. i can do that here.

I have to agree you man. Sunday & Monday were really nice days for us, since we just went to some hole in the wall bar and had more fun there then we did at Level or Space.

I guess I mainly care about Ultra too.

I understand Tek's reasoning with the major $$ for events.. but there is SO much going on EVERY night that isnt expensive.. PLUS during the day places like The Clevelander on Ocean Drive (which you HAVEEEEEEE TO check out if you havent already) have dj's spinning at them where you can go, chil out and have a drink with no cover to walk in. Theres just so much going on around you wherever you go ..every corner you turn you hear nice tunage playing out of stores/hotels whatever; its fucking bliss! My ass will be down there on freakin MONDAY- till the end(Ultra)...OMG!

PvD's set at Space was spectacular, and his Ultra set was disastrous!

yeah, its definitely awesome to chilli in miami beach afterwards...but i would like to catch a couple of nights in the hype and madness of ultra. last time, i only got there in time for pvd @space

we need to know more about ultra... and what it will be liek this time. if they got underworld again i wish!

i didnt goto space for pvd and i left ultra when pvd's cd started skipping like there was no tomorrow.. it totally killed my mood right there.. i think that had a big impact on him hence, spinning with final scratch everywhere he goes..

Check out the DJCentral.com "pool party" at the Clevelander on Friday - it's like NJ takes over SoBe!

I also enjoyed the Thump Radio pool party (a real one, where people actually go in and get wet [and wild] ) at the Surfcomber, which took place every day Tuesday to Friday last year. Damn, lotsa hotties there. Ditto for the beach - Tae, if you don't feel like clubbing, then be sure to at least hit that up. I also hope that a TA event does indeed happen - if so, I hope that you'll be spinning there!

Also, there are free events at the Opium Garden during the daytime. Same for Nikki Beach, which is a pretty cool place IMO.

Thanks for the heads up on things goin on. Also, If anyone knows or hears of additional events/pool parties going on and the like for WMC; please post I'd love to know!

yo dude, i used to go to carnegie mellon... and my gf and i drove from the burgh to miami last wmc in a straight shot. oh i actually smoked for a couple hours in north carolina with an old friend... but still, you'll be in florida in 16-17 hours. but when you approach miami.... like even before ft lauderdale and especially after, you'll get fucked. and it adds on unnecessary hours like crazy! took like 20+ i think cause of that freaking bumper to bumper traffic getting closer to miami. and the worst part is, when you get to florida, you aren't anywhere NEAR THERE!!!! miami is sooooo much farther down..... yikes. i dont know if i ever wanna do that again...but it was WELL worth it

i agree, he rarely uses CDs now... and worse, it seems like he will never play End Kiss again! he must be traumatized. poor pvd. it was especially shocking after such a solid night at Space...both the crowd there and he were through the roof.... and then all the hype from the Ultra MC and shit, closing set yada yada, calling Paul van Dyk "the main event" in the company of legends.....
only for probably the most embarassing moment in his professional DJing career. wow, that was rough! but i had to stay and cheer for him and give him my support....even though he fucked up REAL bad! after all, i was still in awe from the night before....even if had seen him more than 10 times before. but maybe 2004 will give paul a chance to redeem himself at Ultra with an extra killer set on Final Scratch! hahaha
