Thanks for keeping it open. I agree with a lot of you on this thread right now that some threads have gone downhill. The "OMG look at this" and "check out my new.." whatever. But then again it is the Chillout room and i agree with Montie. You don't have to respond to those pointless threads.

MR Squirrel made a good comment about the TA nazis who flame if you get one little wrong about a DJ or track or remix.. Sometimes its hard to post without wondering if you're going to be flamed for it.

oh well, i bet its hard being a mod eh Neo? Half of the people hate you cos you don't close threads or suspend people and half of the people love you coz you do. Someones gotta do it I suppose.

When you get suspended what happens? Are you not allowed to post for a couple weeks? What about being banned? Is that set in stone? Can a ban be lifted? Im just curious about what all of the tasks of a mod are.

Well, there's this guy who goes by the name of 'f0x', and he goes around posting pointless rubbish all over the place!

no problem in keeping it open, UWM started a good thread and also gives a chance for the mods here to answer some of ur questions.

lol ur dead right on it being a hard job as a mod, yes a lot of ppl do hate us cos they think we are too harsh and in some cases that is justified, we do sometimes jump a little too quickly, a dodgy thread could turn out alright if we gave it chance but more often than not it degrades into the usual rubbish.

A suspension is usually at the mod who issues the suspension discretion.
he or she can specify the period of suspension in relation to how serious the offence was that warrented the suspension.

A ban is not set in stone, it can be lifted and several members have had bans lifted.
when a member is suspended or banned, it means they can not post on the forums but can veiw threads and post PM's. however in some cases a lesser ban can be issued where a member is just banned from posting on one of the forums. like a regional forum for example.

and really a Mods task is to keep the peace but also involves things like moving threads to a forum where it would be more suitable, or keeping forums like unknown tracks up to date by posting IDed track names in the thread title etc
its widely varied according to which forum a member is a mod of.
