she is not a classic dj, but i heard that she had a set at galaktika(loveparade-party) and she actually produce or took part in the galaktika01-theme.

I think there are a lot of boundaries and levels for what "sucks" as a DJ... its really an objective rating, not subjective.
Most people will say a DJ "sucks" simply because he/she does not like the music they spin, or track selection. In my opinion, you can't say a DJ "sucks" because of track selection or music style.
You CAN say a DJ sucks because he trainwrecks a lot, the mixing is for shit, he stands up there motionless, etc. etc. etc...
That is really what skills come down too.... now, if you dont like someone because of the music they spin, then you should say "i don't like this DJ's track selection" or "i dont like his music".... i wouldn't say he sucks... because they DONT "suck".
**And i'm really sick of all this "I don't like him, he is mainstream" BULLSHIT! Give me a fucking break, would ya? Not liking someone because they are mainstream is a crock of shit. The music hasn't changed, but just not liking someone because they are famous... that just shows that you are not a true fan of anything, because a true fan would stick to their guns (like sports, do YOU still like your team when they are losing??????) For example, Paul Oakenfold. he seems to be hated a lot, and everyone that hates him lists "being mainstream" a reason for not liking him.... this is such a fucking un-intelligent comment. Obviously you have no respect for trance if you say that.... and to say he "sucks" simply because you think he spins the same records or b/c you just dont like the fact that he is "mainstream" is ridiculous.... that doesn't really rate his SKILLS as a DJ. Now, if he was a bad mixer, thats a different story...
But i still can't see why so many people say he sucks... because he is "overrated" some say. Here's what I want to know: Who overrates him??? the only people that rave about him are HIS FANS. Fans don't "overrate" a DJ, they like him because they like his work, his style... I happen to like Oakenfold, but i've liked him SINCE tranceport, and i never stopped "because he's overrated" or "because he's mainstream"..... i know what he's done for trance, and if people actually looked to see what he's done recently, you would see that he does NOT play all the same tracks all the time. Granted, he'll throw in a couple of old records we know, but thats because we all loved them. Tell me this: What major DJ do you know that DOESN'T reuse records? I'd like to see the original bastard who can use different records every set. People that don't like him because of "track selection" or b/c he plays "the same moldy records", thats fine... you are entitled to that opinion, but you can't say he "sucks" because of this.
Same thing with Sasha & Digweed... they don't "suck", they just have a different style (progressive trance), that a lot of people dont' enjoy.... doesn't mean they "suck"...
Who do i think sucks? I had the mispleasure of seeing Zombie Nation live by accident at the end of last year, and they honestly suck. they may be decent producers, but their spinning skills was lacking at best.. .. they wrecked twice in one set, and on one of those did the ENTIRE crossfade without even realizing the beats were off! to top that off they tried a backspin during a x-fade and it was way off, didnt work..... and .... well, you get it. granted, pretty much most of the DJ's i've seen DONT suck, but then again i am in america and our choice is limited. i have to give Zombie Nation this: they were wearing full outfits and huge masks, so it must have been hard to see and hear (and hot, i'm sure)....
I think that is what KieZie meant when he started this thread... who is actually pretty BAD at spinning... but oh well.

best dj: the one who plays great tunes, not just top tunes but fresh, new, old, whatever people havent heard. The best dj is one who can mix very well and can experiment from time to time.

and anthony pappa is the shiet! even tho i dont like his prog sound now... his old best of platipus cds were awesome

u think i'll ever say that kind of statement ? he and PvD r among the best Trance DJ's i've ever seen or heard and i don't even into club-trance anymore
i think there is no such thing as a Sucky DJ, if he is he won't get famous. even Jean known how to mix but i nver heard him live.
moreover, Alexander "Sasha" Ku, John "Diggers" Digweed and Paul "Oakey" Oakenfold r among the best DJ's who plays House. if u don't like house then u'll never be able to think that they r good and u'll even say that Anthony Pappa

im sorry to tell ya but sasha and digweed r not sticked to Progressive-Trance only. they usually start with Progressive-House (which is Vaiio - apture for example) and then come up.
and u r right, this kind of music is awsome
yeah its actually alexander coe, "ku" isnt really a name i dont think
and sasha and digs can be simply definied as progressive djs... i guess if you look at everything oakie's done... the only you could say is its all dance music, but id definitely say its trance.. not even progressive, yet
MORE progressive than tiesto for example, but not really progressive.. not like seaman or something

Worst dj's in my opinion: DJ Jean & DJ Jurgen, can't stand those guys
Nah Jean is cool...
Ever heard DJ Jean live @ TE 2000? I found that mix to be sweet, especially the beggining (dont forget the launch by him too)... As for the worst DJ, even though it is subjective - and allot of people are NOT DJ's (including me) I would have to say that the Klubbheads group never really brought anything fresh to the table in any of the mixes I have heard...In other words they always used old songs, and didn't mess cept for the transitions, and sometimes not even then. Case and point Live @ Dance Valley 2000...
i think most prog house i pretty straight forward.. like futureshock.. trisco....
ALL of gu19 i believe (or is it 18???) digweed in la anyways.
for some reason i dont like it, even tho i love diggers... i dont appreciate how his sound has evolved, if you watched the movie Groove (i did for the first time last nite) both tracks he plays are definitely more prog Trance: virtua trancer - deep fear and bedrock - heaven scent
its just waaay too slow, boring and melodic-less for me now... 
i still like them tho, S&D

In my opinion, the worst DJs around are
DJ Noise (a swiss DJ, god his sets are the worst, and he's being promoted like hell, I dunno why! he definately SUCKS in Trance music)

The worst DJ's in the world are (not in any particular order mind Judge Jules - I've seen him live loads and he is so over rated, no other DJ (other than the Dave Pearce) fucks up as much as he does. Dave Pearce - at Homelands this year, he managed to mix two tracks with his hands in the air! He's just one big cheese mister! DJ Jurgen is obviously the sporn of the devil, as is DJ Jean. There really are so many bad DJ's out there making loads of money.

Hey Kurai and jason,
Just out of curiousity....you say these "untalented and inefficient " dj's make a lot of money.....did it ever cross your mind that your definition of good might be in total contrast to what others think....
A good DJ is defined by their DJing skills that are broadly the same over all musical genres. For a DJ to be bad - it is not their music that makes them bad, but their inabilty to actually be a good DJ - Judge Jules very rarly performs well in the UK, he looses the crowd with his track selection (the key thing for any DJ) and his mixing is at best average most of the time. As for Dave Pearce - he couldn't mix a cake! These "big name" DJ's started out good - JJ must have been to be a resident at the Ministry of Sound, he then gets hyped up charges thousands of pounds (and dollars) for a set and does an average job - because he can get away with it. In your "normal" job, if you were paid a few thousand for a couple of hours work they'd want some good out of it! A bad DJ is one that looses his/her crowd, has no direction in the set, and couldnt mix for shit 
what ever taste of music you have.
I hate Dj jean.....i have to say it....but the mostly of you have already said is name.....
